Even the most courageous among us only rarely has the courage to face what he already knows.

Once upon a time, Hitler took power in Germany and the German people backed him, under the guise of a work party to compensate lost jobs due to immigration, and we all know how THAT went. The Germans, they took a long rich history of intelligent hard working people, and forever ruined their credibility thereafter.
When America elected trump, under the guise of immigrants ruining our welfare, and by improving our infrastructure somehow magically by creating more jobs no one wants and by building a wall on a border that’s nothing but underground drug tunnels, we did the exact same thing, and when america fails and disappears, which it will, we will be a footnote in a book written in some new language, we'll go down as a short lived failed experiment of redneck morons, built on lies, genocide and slavery, and ending just as cartoony, and not soon enough.
I’m an American, a REAL American, none of this eagle bumpersticker love it or leave it horseshit, an American questions, an American doesn’t love it or leave it, he changes it through peaceful democratic means. This whole heritage not hate shit is just that, shit, you don’t see Germans flying swastika flags for history. No you’re neonazis and that’s why you elected trump, lets be honest now, He said everything your ill-informed mind wanted to hear, you, much like him, researched none of the facts, he just said shit, and you just listened because it was what you wanted to hear, and now we as Americans have lost what LITTLE intellectual credibility we had in the world, and will probably get bombed from if not it, the domino effect thereafter.
The Buddhist in me would like to remind you: Everything is as it should be, and we live long enough to be enlightened enough to be dead for even longer, to be free of the suffering of need, by no longer having any needs. Don’t cry when America is gone, don’t cry when anyones gone, you’re a child of the Earth and to the Earth you’ll return, anything else is Babylonian babble. America....it was fun while it lasted, wasn’t it kids?
You don't kill someone to teach them not to kill. You don’t call prison rehabilitation while being nothing but detrimental to said people, you dont lock up people for next to nothing, etc. Some people cant be saved, and yes locking them up for life is expensive, but not as expensive as youd think ( the average prisoner in the usa costs 90 cents a day to feed and house ) Humans change and redemption IS life, then again I'm a Buddhist. Some humans are in jail and do nothing but suffer, some take to the life, and thrive in jail, and enjoy life in their own way, is it punishment, whos to say, but in my mind youre average human can and will change, and what about all the people imprisoned and then found innocent years later?
if you kill them you cant take that back. No to the death penalty, and on a personal note I think MOST, not all, MOST criminal activity should be taken from a psychological or economic standpoint, most these people are poor uneducated and angry for, obvious reasons, and should be treated as mentally ill and not criminal and evil, back any animal into a corner and it lashes out, that’s not to say that animal cant love and be loved, cant show compassion or understand it, etc.
We all love justification but my stance is, if you kill in need, lets say you are starving and you kill and eat an animal, you didnt kill it because you wanted to, infact if youre a “normal” person you probably felt a little bad. if something is trying to kill you, you kill it out of instinct and feel bad later, thats justified. If you’re in jail for like drug charges for 15 years and have to do violent things to survive, lets say you have to stab someone so youre not stabbed, etc, and time is added on, now youre in for 20 years, etc, that doesnt make you violent or bad, we all do what we have to do, when you take small time criminals and put them in the wolves den, yes they come out as wolves, repeat that process and eventually theyre such killers you need to kill them in some legal way, was it ever about them?
and at what point is the society held responsible? In the west we’re very about the individual, as am I really, but push an individual enough and you shape him like clay, do you then get to judge the shape hes in, which youve created? forget i said anything, talk about your favorite shows or, show you smokin a crack piple with your cleavage in the backround, i like that too....
Dear rednecks/Appalachians, though you may be Irish/Scottish in descent you will never play a banjo as well as an Irishman, just accept it. You’re the superior Opossum hunters still for sure...
I’m thinking every so often I’ll post a book, just because I can, and tell you if I think you should read it or not, who WOULDN’T trust the opinions of a drunk stranger concerning classical and contemporary literature, obviously.
Treasure Island, this is a book I read as a kid, some of you may have read it as a kid or a teen. Personally all i remembered was typical pirate story, nothing really special. I reread this as an adult, and found it a much more interesting book. Though written from the perspective of a young teen boy, it’s much better understood from an adult mindset. the brief synopsis ( SPOILERS ):
Jim Hawkins is a 13 year old boy who works at his family business the Benbow Inn. A rich seacaptain comes to town and takes residence there, where he gets drunk and generally terrorizes the patrons. He pays Jim each week to keep lookout for any seafaring men that should happen to pass through, especially the seafaring man with one leg.
The captain as it turns out was the first mate for a crew that found a great treasure and buried it on, you guessed it treasure island. One day one of his old crew comes in and gives him the black spot, the mark of death, and the captain chases him out with a cutlass, come in and has a heart attack. The doctor sees him and tells him if he keeps drinking he’ll die. the next day hes getting booze shakes and drinks and dies, shocking.
Jim and the rich doctor set up a crew and sail for treasure island. Half the crew turns out to be the old captains crew and when they hit the island they all mutiny and fight and so on. A giggle here, and a laugh there later and the pirates are all dead but long john silver the one legged seafarer, who weasled his way into a pardon at the bitter end.
ok, now onto why you should read this as an adult. Well it depends on who you are I suppose, i happened to grow up in a bit of a well, a coastal town of drunken fishermen, just really like horribly accented new england drunks. As such these sort of character i found sadly relateable and was surprised to find besides the manner in which they spoke, the conversations and things they did were the same as whats going on now 100s of years later.
Infact a I reread the book as an adult i realized the treasure, the pirates, the sword fights, really the books not about them in the least. I mean if you like action there’s plenty, but its an interesting and very subtle narration on things like the nature of people, the futility of seeking riches, the advantage and disadvantages of fighting, and so on. And instead of it being the sort of young adult reader book i remembered it as, it was very adult, had some of the most memorable fictional characters I can think of, and had quotes, within context, that were astonishingly good writing. I also have a suspicion that this book is where like 60% of our conceptions of a pirate come from.
It’s a shortish book, if you like reading and havent read it since youth, try picking it up sometime, if you havent read it and think its a teen pirate novel, its not, give it a shot, its one of those books where you legitimately want to know what happens next.
“ Jimmy’s teacher was very annoyed, he gave Jimmy the cane, he shared his syringe with a class full of boys, now they all want the same, heroin heroin, and cocaine, heroin heroin and cocaine... “
I’ve decided to start writing dreams down, so I might as well take up space here with em, some will be old dreams I remember still, some will be new dreams, just dreams, the only time we’re honest with ourselves and therefore the most honest i can be with you ( not that my 3 day old tumblr has alot of readers yet )
October 15th or something: Fell asleep drunk watching the walking dead, dreamed I was being attacked by cops, it was a good ol time for a while til i was overwhelmed. They’re run up, id stab them in the heart, another would come, stab, etc, eventually there was too many to stab and i ran, pretty self explanatory really, dreams are half subconscious mind and half replaying what we’ve seen experienced that day. Now if i had that dream on say a Bahama vacation, well, worry then
You know if i was in therapy I’m sure I’d be set back in it by now. I cant believe 30 years into life all i have to show for it is a drug habbit, bad dreams, a pile of broken used electronics and a 7 year failed relationship. Wasted life was the perfect title for this blog, I think my feelings would be hurt had I any left.
Before all my feelings were dead anger would be what I feel right now i guess, just waiting for death.
The Buddha teaches us that life is suffering, to live is to suffer, because to live is to need, and to need is to suffer, and to be enlightened is to be free of need, of suffering, the Buddha teaches that the point of life is to live long enough to realize the point of living is to get ready to be dead longer, let go of need and consciousness, and accept it.
After 30 years, I totally understand this notion, it's already more than enough, not that most humans drive me the fuck up the wall or anything, Kisses, love you...
Here’s a fairly gay song to prove a point. The most beautiful languages in human history are as follows:
1.) Irish Gaelic
2.) Russian
3.) Japanese
French is so far down the list to me I think none of you get languages, italian too, ending every word with A or O makes it flow sure, but that doesnt mean its a pretty language, you’ve been brainwashed by movies.
Musings and more of a despondant 30 year old man, former drug addict, current writer/alcoholic. I'm unmarried, I have no children, and all my dreams are dead, I've wasted my life, and you can too! Never say never. Sometimes prolific, mostly offensive observations about people, life, and the nature of the universe. I'm a communist, your god's a lie, hate mail welcome.
