“That is part of the beauty of all literature. You discover that your longings are universal longings, that you’re not lonely and isolated from anyone. You belong.” - F. Scott Fitzgerald (via thegreatgatsbydaily)

‘By the time you see this announcement,’ he says, 'I will be dead.’ He goes on to say that it wasn’t a career in law enforcement that killed him but two packs of cigarettes a day. I saw this at about three o'clock in the morning, alone in my apartment, on a black-and-white set with lots of interference. White noise and snow. He seemed to be speaking directly at me, right out of the television set. For a moment I was disoriented, seized by panic; could a ghost embody itself through wavelengths, electronic dots, a picture tube? What are the dead, anyway, but waves and energy? Light shining from a dead star?’ - The Secret History by Donna Tartt
“You were supposed to stay dead.”

I didn't know how badly I needed to see diversity in fantasy until I watched The Witcher. Not only did they quietly include women, disabed people and poc but they portrayed these characters with dignity. There was no LOOK HOW WOKE WE ARE. They just did it because that's the way it always should have been. I kept bracing for a rape scene, because fantasy and historical fiction always uses rape as plot, but it never came. Plus, Geralt is constantly sipping on that Respect Women juice and wearing down his leathers because he's dummy thicc.
I’m a simple woman. I find a song I like, I listen to it for three weeks uninterrupted until I find another one.
