The Valravn breaks out

Animation Practice! I have not done real animation until the beginning of this year and it’s only been a few logo animations before my shoulder gave out. Now I’m more or less back and had this wild need to try and draw part of Zephyr’s transformation.

And guys.. I had FUN! oh my god this was a ton of fun! Kinda just did it all by gut feeling but I’m really proud of the outcome!

Hellblade Screens : 1/∞

the nachtkrapp, or “night raven,” is a German/Austrian legend about a huge and eyeless bird that would steal children away in the night. its wings were full of holes that could cause the watcher to become diseased if they looked into them.

night ravens are rare to begin with, and even in the massive bastion that is Monster City there are few to be found–and those that are there tend to hide from their dark reputation, calling themselves spirit ravens, or Gaelic courtiers to fey.

Getting there! He finally looks like something. Glueing is always the scariest part for me so I’m glad it went okay.

Now onto trimming. I’d started here but it was just to see the eyes for glueing.

A nocturnal magic beast. The valravn is an oft wicked thing of Danish folklore, typically born from the bloodied battlefield.

My piece inspired by Ninja Theory’s incredible Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice, a powerful tale woven through psychosis and the fortitude of the human spirit.

Senua and Valravn ~ The hardest battles are fought in the mind.

You're gonna give me a heart attack!

Oh yeah, it's the BIG ONE. At the end of Art Fight 2021 I got the idea of making an attack of every valravn on the Art Fight website. 2022 arrived, I set out to do just that. It took the entire month, but in the end I pulled it off! This is one of the most complicated pieces I've ever drawn. Thank you to everyone that loved it, you made it all worth it ❤
