The town has been colorful and lively as of late. It always was,but this time was different since it was just a few days before the Festival of Flowers and your friend Isabela's time. Even though she didn't have her gift anymore, her love for flowers didn't go away and she built a whole garden in which she grew every flower. And since it was a festival day, she gathered different kinds of flowers such as Hibiscus', Tulips, Dahlias and Marigolds, scattered all around the town and its houses, even making flower crowns for everyone and making the children laugh gleefuly.
While you were doing what? Making arepas with your now-mamá Julietta for everyone to eat happily. You didn't see it, but she was smiling widely at you working hard to make the perfect one and seeing her daughter look at you in awe, thinking she was being smooth. She patted your arm softly, making you look at her confused.
" Why don't you go to Luisa and spend time with her, mi hija?"
You looked at the work in front of you and then her, then to the town before you and many people. You made a worried look, and attempted to say that you were fine but she beat you to it.
"Don't say that there are a lot of people. Me and Mirabel can deal with it. Besides that's a festival so go and spend time with her!"
"Yes, we will be fine! Now, come on go!"
And with that, they shoved you away from the table and you chuckled while dusting yourself. And you waved your hand at them and started to look for your lover all while talking with the old ladies and ruffling little children's heads.
Finding Luisa wasn't hard since she was next to an old man, helping him with carrying his bags. You smiled softly at her and went up to her with a little skip and after turning her face back to the road you were walking, she matched your joy as well upon seeing you. She held both of her arms wide for you to launch yourself at her and you smirked with a hint of mischief and took a run into her arms. As soon as you were in her embrace, she closed her arms around your smaller frame and hugged you tightly while swinging and sweeping you off of your feet.
After squeezing you one last time, you took a step back to look up at your girlfriend with a lopsided, toothy smile.
"How is the most beautiful, amazing, brave, soft, patient, wonderful, spectacular-"
" (Y/N)... You started to list everything that makes me flustered again..."
"........ anyways, loveable, huggable, tall, mighty girl who has an amazing body and who is strong as hell doing today?"
And that's it, thought Luisa, feeling her cheeks flush. She swinged her arm over your shoulder and you two started to walk again while you were telling her what you had done before meeting with her with animated gestures. She was humming from time to time at you, telling you that she was indeed listening but the distant look on her face and her eye twitching sometimes meant that she was getting nervous over something, making her overthink again.
So you dropped her arm off from your shoulders, making her finally look at you even if it was in a worried manner, then stopped in your track while holding a hand up to her to stop. Since you were ultimately shorter than her, to get ahead of her, you had to take short and fast steps which made you breathless. Before talking again, you bent down and put your hand on your knees while huffing out and lifted a finger at her, pointing to her face.
"Damn... being short is hard... but wow I just fell in love with you... again... just... one second..."
Luisa looked at your much smaller finger pointing at her and you guessed that's what made her come back to her senses since she started to fan you with her hands fast and continuously.
"Okay, okay. I'm fine now... So what got you so blue all of a sudden, hmm?"
"It's nothing serious, really! I'm fine, totaly not nervous, like what is there to make me feel like-"
"And look at who tells me I rabble about..."
And seeing the unimpressed look on your face, your hands being on your hips with a meaning of you weren't going to let that one slide off easily made her sigh and a insecure yet soft smile appeared on her face.
"Luisa, I know that this is about you not having a gift anymore but just know this: It doesn't define you. Just because you aren't that strong anymore doesn't mean you are useless or something!"
"But how are you so-"
You put your finger on her mouth to shush her and dragged to your usual date spot. After both of you settled down, you put your head on her shoulder while playing with her hand.
"Luisa, have you ever thought... maybe that's Casita's last gift to every one of you?"
At the look of confusion on her face you hesitantly continued to talk.
"I mean, not to be mean or anything but your abuela was quite the perfectionist and as Mirabel said, she was breaking the house and every one of you. Just think about it! Isabela doesn't have to be perfect anymore, Camilo doesn't have to make people pleased even if he wasn't feeling like it and you don't have the pressure to be the one who bears all of the weight anymore... Every single one of you is free."
Since no sound could be heard from her, you started to think that in a way, you had offended her and immediately prepared an apology in your mind. What were you thinking, you idiot!! You aren't the one who had a gift for all of their life and then one day just go... bam! Vanished! How can you possibly know-
Your little scolding to yourself was cut short as soon as you felt a hand patting your head. You slowly moved your head to meet with her eyes without knowing that your eyes were closed shut, making Luisa chuckle in amusement.
"You are right, mi vida... It may trully be a gift, after all. Just... not being able to do most of the things I used to able to do is kinda... odd."
" Ohh~~ What? Just because you couldn't lift a kid, you suddenly got sad?"
You wiggled your your eyebrows playfully at her to get her mind out of the topic at the hand and in return, she pushed you to your side playfully as well while laughing, knowing that you were trying to take her mind out of herself.
"It was ten kids, (Y/N)!! It's a big deal!"
"Ten?... I can't even lift my own cousin and you are talking about lifting ten? I'm just reminded of our power differences now!"
You pulled yourself together and sit on her lap while throwing a little tantrum about how that was exactly the reason why your whole family loved her more than you, that she was cheating to get the love of your cousins.
Meanwhile Luisa was staring at your face softly. Your soft skin was glowing under the sun and your stray hairs were dancing alongside the slight wind and your eyes were shining with utter happiness and a little hint of mischief. The more she looked at you, the more she felt her heart beating harshly and the next words came out so naturally.
"Thank you for being here always, (Y/N)...mi regalo."
You look at her with widened eyes, not expecting for her to say such a classic but romantic thing. You smiled and rubbed the promise ring on your finger.
"Silly girl, can't you see the truth in front of you? You don't have to be strong alone, anymore. You and I, we can be strong together..."

You stood in the middle of the square, pretending to be just as useful as any member of the Madrigal clan. You helped an older member of the village fold her laundry, and kept the priest from taking a dunk in the fountain. Well, almost.
In grabbing the priest by the back of his shirt to keep him from going head long into the water, he had twisted, redirecting the momentum to throw you into the water by accident. There was a sharp pain in the top of your head that lead to an underwater gasp.
One of Isabella’s vines looped around your waist, pulling you from the water as you coughed and sputtered. Familiar arms pulled you from the vine, setting you on the side of the fountain.
“Dove, look at me.” Luisa’s voice sounded in front of you. You tried to open your eyes, but found your vision very foggy and distorted. You tried to speak, but the water in your lungs was making anything other than coughing near impossible. Another figure in blue rushed over, placing gentle hands on your face.
“Do you think you can eat?” You shook your head.
“What do we do?” A hint of fear invading Luisa tone.
“Keep her upright until the coughing settles down. Don’t let her go to sleep.” Julietta instructed. You weren’t sure how you could possibly sleep with the burning on the top of your head and your body’s attempts to remove a lung via your airway.
“I can work one handed.” Luisa said, picking you up so that your body was being held upright between her arm and her chest. You tried to argue that this was silly, but all that came out was a series of syllables and coughs that made no sense.
“Hey, don’t cough at her in that tone.” Camilo scolded playfully. You half laughed and then coughed some more. Luisa grumbled something about not making it worse and began gathering loose burros.
“They need better fences.” You rasped after a while. “This is like a *cough* daily thing.” You were placed gently on a rock. A hand wiped your forehead careful of the spot that had collided with the fountain.
“You okay?” Luisa asked, kissing your forehead softly.
“Peachy.” *wheeze* “Just peachy.”
“Let me finish this, and we’ll get you back to Mama. I won’t be happy until that spot on your head is mended.”
“Ah, so the coughing out a lung is f- *cough cough cough*”
“That’s what you get for being smart.” Luisa scolded, kick flipping a burro with extra gusto on to her shoulders. You stood and started to stagger after her.
“What are you doing?”
“Following all three of you, obviously. Not every day I get more than one of you.” You teased. She nearly dropped a burro.
“I. You. Stop it.” She managed, you were pretty sure she was blushing. “Stay there. I’ll be back.”
“Fine, leave me all by my lonesome.” You sighed dramatically and started coughing again. You could almost swear, through the visual fog that she was running. You wobbled back to the rock and sat. Damn this day had been tiring. You yawned, feeling a rush of exhaustion hit. A little nap wouldn’t hurt would it? Just as you started to doze you were shaken awake.
“Y/n! Wake up!” Luisa’s voice was frantic.
“I’m up I’m up.” You slurred. Why did everything feel heavy.
“I shouldn’t have left you. Damn it.”
“Why would you leave me. I’m adorable.” You joked. No response. “Amor, that’s the part where you tell me to shut up. Remember? We have this whole back and-“
“Mama!” Luisa yelled carrying you over, and setting you down on the table.
“I’m fine, really just tired.”
“Eat this dear.” Julietta instructed, placing an Arepa in your hand. Luisa took it and placed it to your lips when your arm didn’t move. You took a bite and started to come back to a come an alert state. A couple more and the pain in your lungs and head faded.
“Better?” Luisa asked, you nodded, kissing her hand.
“Much, thank you.”
“Awww.” Isabella and Mirabel were standing together watching the two of you.
“Thanks for fishing me out earlier.” You said to Isabella, she smiled.
“You’re welcome.” She curtsied and made a bunch of flowers bloom for emphasis.
“Show off.” Mirabel commented, lightly nudging her sister.
“I’m taking Y/n home.” Luisa announced. “She needs rest.” You were lifted into her arms again and packed back up the hill.
“Amor, are you upset with me?” You asked, reaching up to cup her face.
“With you? No.” The unspoken portion left hanging in the air.
“How were you supposed to know I was going to fall asleep the minute I wasn’t being watched. Clairvoyance isn’t your gift.” Tears started to slip down her cheeks. You shifted to loop you’re arms around her neck. “I’m okay. I promise.”
“How did that happen anyway? One minute you’re helping with laundry, the next Isabella is yelling for me and you’re crumpled in the fountain.”
“The priest was about to suffer the same fate, I slipped redirecting him.”
“You shoulda…” she trailed off.
“Yeah, maybe we don’t wish ill on the priest. Abuella is devout after all.”
“I just…” an exasperated sigh followed.
“I know, you hate it when I’m hurt, I’m not really a fan either.” That earned a little smile. “I wasn’t kidding about that three of you comment though.”
“Stop it, Dolores can hear us.” Luisa blushed.
“Pretty sure she’s heard your parents and hers doing the horizontal tango.”
“No.” Luisa gasped, trying to block the realization.
“The beast with two backs.”
“Quit.” Her face went even redder, sympathy in her eyes for her cousin.
“You could even say they-“
“Dove, I am begging you.”
“Alright, alright, I’ll stop.” You had reached Cassita’s threshold by this point, and Luisa made a bee-line for her room. She set you down on the bed before loosing her shoes and getting in with you. You were pulled on top on her, your head resting on her chest.
“Promise me you’ll let the next person fall in.”
“You know I can’t.” Heavy sigh. “That’s part of why you love me.”
“Ya’know, this you being right thing is a real pain sometimes.”
“Ah, but I’m your pain.”
“I love you.”
BRAID LUISA’S HAIR💕💕
I’d love to!
“Amor, come here.” You instructed, pointing at the edge of the bed in front of you. Luisa gave you a tired look and walked over. “Sit down.” Her face took on a more confused look, but she did as she was told, well, sort of. She sat down on the floor. You crawled forward, dropping your legs over the edge to either side of her body. You pulled her ribbon loose, letting her wealth to brown curls fall into your lap. Your fingers reached into her hair on her scalp. You began to gently massage her head.
“Oh..” she sighed. The weight of her head pressed back into your hands as she relaxed. In the mirror across the room you watched her eyelids flutter and the tension drain from her body.
“Luisa! The burros got out again!” Abuela called from outside the door.
“Coming!” She yelled back.
“Wait.” She gave you a quizzical look. “Let me do your hair.” You said, offering her the hair ribbon back. She sighed and nodded.
“I guess they won’t get much further than they would if I did it.” She conceded, rubbing the fabric between her fingers.
“My thoughts exactly.” You said, beginning to run a comb through her hair to tame it. You took as much time as you could without making it seem like you were just stalling. Starting at the top of her head, you started to braid, careful to keep the sections of her French braid even and tidy. When she stood, she took a second to admire your handiwork.
“Would you do this again some time?” She asked, stroking the braid.
“Of course.” She nodded and hurried out the door to catch the burros.
if you could interpret this gif into luisa just getting mega snuggled by the reader <33
Absolutely!
Pepa had, unfortunately, done quite a bit of ‘letting it go’ over the past week during some hard conversations with Abuela. The conversation’s needed to happen, no two ways about it. But being soaked after less than ten minutes outside wasn’t fun either.
You had insisted on following Luisa through her day, helping in whatever way you could with the various chores. One thing you were adept at was clearing the drains in the streets of debris like sticks and some errant pieces of clothing so that the water would drain more effectively. By the time you had gotten home the cold was starting to seep in and your body was starting to stiffen.
You insisted that Luisa get a bath first, effectively hiding how cold you were getting. She argued for a minute, but eventually let you nudge her toward the bathroom. You stood in the middle of her redecorated room. There was still the training course and the weights for her workouts, but her bed was newly covered with an abundance of pink and purple bedding. Her closet had been repainted from a grey color to purple with pink accents. You admired the amount of work it had taken to make her room better when you felt a set of lips brush your clammy face.
“Your turn.” She said, pushing you to the bathroom. You stood for a long time letting the hot water wash away the cold, or most of it anyway, before drying off and pulling on new clothes. Luisa lay back on her bed, book in hand. You smiled and grabbed a blanket from the end of the bed, wrapping it around yourself before resting your head on her chest.
“What are you reading?” You asked, humming softly as one of her hands started to play with your hair.
“Collection of myths from India.” Luisa said, glancing down at your face. Her brows furrowed in concern. “Are you still cold?”
“No.” You said. And then you shivered.
“No, you’re not cold, you’re freezing?” Luisa asked, a little bit of sarcasm in her tone. She shook her head and put her book to the side. She lifted you onto her chest, her arms resting on top of you. You snuggled into her warmth, sighing softly.
“Better?” She asked, kissing the top of your head.
“Mmhmm.” You said, starting to feel a little sleepy.
“D’you want me to read to you?”
“Mmhmm.”
“As you wish.” She whispered, before picking her book up and starting at the beginning.
You absolutely adore Sevika’s beautiful gray eyes.
They are probably her softest, most delicate feature.
Sometimes, you feel like you could stare into them for hours and hours on end, and get lost in an entire world of possibilities…
At first, they appear like:
Freshly polished metallic gemstones,
Marble statues that stood lonesomely in the shadows of an abandoned museum,
They may seem icy, standoffish, even fortified to a naive beholder.
But to you, they offered a place of rest and solace.
A pool you could jump into and resurface having lived a million different lives:
Peering through a window to view a stormy, cloudy day that cries into the depths of an equally moody sea all from the comfort of a candlelit lighthouse,
A silent, winter forest in the dead of night that you trudged through in order to return to your cottage home.
There were moments where you wished you could lose yourself in her eyes forevermore.
The Madrigals x gn!Reader
Fluff - Romantic
Requested: No
[Word Count: 941]
The Madrigals are used to seeing most citizens of Encanto frequently, so it's always a shock when they see someone new. They just weren't expecting for that person to be so stunning.
- My first Encanto piece because I'm lowkey scared to write for this movie. It's short for that same reason, sorry! -
Pt. 2
Camilo and Mirabel involved, 18+ DON'T READ THEIR PARTS (they're last)
Luisa, Isabela, Dolores, Camilo, and Mirabel included
Luisa
She was just helping out with moving carts around when she saw you out of the corner of her eye
After doing a double take, she almost dropped the cart she had in her hand
You were the most stunning person she had ever seen
Luisa instantly became mesmerized with how you moved, elegantly and with purpose as you looked about the Encanto
When you looked back at her and smiled, Luisa felt her heart stop for a moment
She wanted to go up to you and say something, anything, but her mind had drawn a blank
And so she just stared as you turned and walked down the opposite road, waving at passersby as you went
She didn’t stop thinking about you for the rest of the day, running through speeches in her head so that next time she saw you, she would have something to say
Isabela
Through the haze of countless purple and pink flower petals, Isabela almost didn’t see you at first
Once the curtain fell, though, you were the first person her eyes went to
You were just a member of the crowd, watching and cheering along with everyone else, but you stood out enough to catch her eye
You seemed to glow as if you were made of the sun itself, illuminating your frame as you clapped for her show
She would never admit it, but Isabela knows that a few mismatched flowers sprouted along the length of her hair when you smiled at her
After the kids had run off to go be entertained by Camilo, Isabela rushed towards you to make her standard greeting
For some reason she couldn’t explain, she fumbled with her words for a moment, stuttering as you took her hand to shake
Dolores watched the whole thing, and needless to say, the whole Madrigal family was instantly in on the plan to get their dear Isabela to talk to this mysterious newcomer
Dolores
The commotion of Encanto tends to keep Dolores away, but something compelled her to visit just this one day
As she was wandering about, picking out certain fruits for Julieta to cook with, she accidentally bumped into someone at a stand
Dolores turned to apologize, but the words got caught in her throat when she made eye contact with you
Time seemed to move slower than usual as you smiled at her, apologizing for running into her
“No, no, I’m sorry for bumping into you,” Dolores said, her quiet voice even softer than usual
You and her actually struck up a conversation, and Dolores realized just how easy it was for her to talk to you. It felt natural, and she instantly got a sense of safety just from this one moment with you
When you parted ways, Dolores couldn’t get you off of her mind, even spilling her own secret to her family at dinner that night
She would later send Camilo out to search for you while he did his chores so he could tell you that Dolores wishes to see you again, and that she wanted to invite you to a dinner at their Casita
Camilo
Camilo was supposed to be entertaining the kids when you stopped by
He shifted back into himself, watching with a slightly parted mouth as one of the children he was playing with ran into the arms of the most enchanting person he had ever seen
You stood, chuckling at your younger sibling, and thanked him for watching over them
Camilo nodded numbly before he came to his senses, literally shaking himself out of it
He caught you before you could get too far away, gently grabbing you by the shoulder and introducing himself
You two hit it off better than Camilo expected, and you even stuck around to help him handle the kids while he went off to help with some more chores he had around Encanto
When he returned, Camilo thanked you profusely, and offered to meet up with you again sometime
While on the surface it looked like a smooth way to ask for you to hang out with him more, Camilo’s face was probably hotter than a summer’s day and he was fighting the urge to shift bodies just so he wasn’t sweating as badly
When he watched you walk away with your little sibling in tow, he couldn’t help shifting into you, completely lost in thought (the kids loved this and now refuse to stop mocking him for it, much to Camilo’s dismay)
Mirabel
Mirabel figured that day to be just like all the others until she saw you talking to a sweet old lady that seemed to be pointing out the way to somewhere
She watched as you thanked the lady and turned to leave before she came to her senses and scrambled to follow you, insisting that it wasn’t in a creepy way or anything and she just wanted to say hi
You heard her footsteps and abruptly stopped, spinning on your heel to be met face-to-face with Mirabel Madrigal - her glasses askew and fists clenching the fabric of her skirt
Mirabel hastily introduced herself with a nervous grin, violently extending her hand for a shake
You could tell she was nervous but humored her, acting like this was any old greeting (which you had been doing lots of as of late)
You explained that you were new to Encanto and that your family had moved here only a week ago, to which Mirabel offered to show you around
When you accepted, Mirabel waited for you to turn around before holding a mini-celebration with herself, quickly fist bumping the air
Luisa x Reader, a little nsfw so stay away children
Quick thing, the incident at dinner mentioned in this isn’t linked to Isabela proposal, this takes place the year before the movie.
It was the middle of the night and you were sitting ‘patiently’ in the woods swirling your glass, you watched as the red wine spun against the smooth wall before gulping it down. Looking around one last time you huffed and hesitantly placed the empty glass back into your basket ready to leave but stopped as you heard the crunching of leaves and grass.
There in the distance you saw an all too familiar figure approaching you, “cachorro?” your desired individual came out through the foliage, there she stood, the strongest Madrigal wearing a sweet dopey smile and a beautifully soft pink dress that showed off her legs and her cleavage, “there you are mi tesoro, I thought you forgot about me?” holding your hand out to her she grabbed it and allowed you to pull her down next to you, “never, I love you too much for that,” reaching up you rested your hand against her cheek with your thumb petting her soft skin, leaning into your touch she begin kissing the palm of your hand with an apologetic look, “but I am sorry, Camilo was trying to follow me, I think my family is getting suspicious,” whining you buried your head into her chest and reached behind her, gripping onto the back of her dress.
You loved her family and were dying to meet them as Luisa’s girlfriend but that was the problem, you, a woman, were in a romantic relationship with another woman, and with the inability to judge Alma’s her opinion the two of you kept your relationship a secret.
