Black and white comic with simple digital drawings.
Panel 1: Two kids sitting on the ground surrounded by small pieces of paper, a pencil, and an open book placed face down on the ground. The kid on the left is kneeling and facing the kid on the right, who is sitting cross-legged and reading a book. The kid on the left asks with a smile, "What're you reading?"
Panel 2: The kid on the right holds the book closed and away defensively as the kid on the left continues to look at them and smile. The kid on the right says, "um"
Panel 3: No longer smiling, the two kids stare at each other.
Panel 4: The kid on the right says, "I won't tell anyone"

Panel 1: The kid on the right holds the book to their chest and looks down as if in thought.
Panel 2: The kid on the right turns to the left and answers, "...'The Little Match Girl.'"
Panel 2: The kid on the left asks, "Why? It made us cry last time!" The kid on the right replies, "I only cried cuz YOU cried"
Panel 4: The kid on the left scratches their head in confusion. They say, "Oh" as the kid on the right looks at them.
Panel 5: The kid on the left asks with a hand on their cheek, "But why are you reading it?"

Panel 1: Close-up on the kid on the right's hands as they put the closed book on the ground and say, "I wanted to see if I could cry again."
Panel 2: They open the book, showing lines representing text inside. From outside the panel, the kid on the left asks, "Do you not get sad?"
Panel 3: Panel is black, with the kid on the left sitting without a face and touching their chest with open hands. They say, "Yeah, but it just gets stuck here." The book is open on the ground in front of them.

The kid on the right sits facing away so their face isn't visible. Their shadow stretches so big behind them it trails past the edge of the page to the bottom right. The kid on the left kneels facing them, listening. The pieces of paper, pencil, and book are still scattered around them on the floor. The kid on the right says, "And it feels Bad
but I can't finish crying because I can't start."

hello do you perchance have any advic e to improving ? i like this piece a lot but it seems a little bland sigh ..

auhhhh I’m not really good at giving art tips but I’ll give it a shot— i think if you add more details to the clothing it’ll seem less flat and not like a solid colour if that makes sense?

as for improving— i personally have improved faster because i draw every day, but I know that that could cause burnout/stress to other people, it’s just what works for me ig ^^’’ I’ve also said this a lot but looking at other people’s art and the way they draw certain things has helped me draw things better and incorporate that stuff into my own work :D i hope this was helpful !! <33
