Tech comes back, heavy damage sustained from his fall and how he survived, and one of those injuries was losing totally/most of his vision (hence the smashed goggles and why they got left behind), so the next time he sees Phee and reunites with her she just takes his face in her hands and still lovingly calls him “brown-eyes”; even if they’re scarred or cloudy and look different she still finds them beautiful and his 🥲

Actually I think that the ending of the episode should have been them getting a call and when they answer it all you hear is Hunter going "TECH?!" in that special voice he reserves especially for Tech doing stupid shit like getting their ship impounded and going death racing and then we hard cut to the credits.
