Albedo, for most of his life until now, had followed his master's orders through and through even down to the last one- to seek out the true meaning of life. With that said, his master left him all alone in a foreign land with nobody he could rely on.
Well, that was until he stepped foot in Mondstadt.
Mondstadt-- the city of freedom, bards, and love. A city with so many things to do. Surely, he could find the truth of this world there, yes?
He only had one goal in mind and he shall see his master's orders through until the end-- no added goals or distractions needed.
Easier said than done.
Mondstadt grew to be a challenge. That said, many distractions came along with it-- his new position as the chief alchemist, looking after Alice's daughter, Klee, teaching his students.. But none were more distracting than you.
The first visit was when he was still fairly knew to Mondstadt. You took care of him just as the other knights did, checking on him if he ever needed anything. He didn't think of anything of it. However, with each passing day, that gradually changes.
Albedo grew fond of you, starting from when he first knew of your name that left the lips of the Cavalry Captain. Now, you were something that he couldn't shake his mind off. He memorized every part of you-- the way your eyes shine and reflected him, making him feel as if he was the only one in your worlds, the way the corner of your lips pull upward every time you look at him, the way--
"Mr. Albedo, is there something the matter?" Oh, it seems that he has lost himself at the thought of you. "Ah, sorry. I must have creeped you out.." he mumbles and looks away. "Ah, no, you didn't. But is there something wrong?" you asked once more.
"No, nothing you need to concern with," he said. You didn't feel at rest, seeing that he has been quiet most days now as if he was in his own world.
Albedo notices this and sighs, resting a hand on your head. Soft. Your hair was soft and he could tell even through his gloves. "Rest assured. I am well, I promise," he smiles.
He looks at you with warm eyes that really calmed your thoughts. With a smile, you nod your head, returning to your work with cleaning up the mess Albedo left all the while having his eyes follow you.
Even if you were a distraction, you were a distraction he would happily have all his focus on and never leave. A perfect distraction from his thoughts of destroying Mondstadt one day.

Your heart beat with inconsistency everytime you looked at her. From her graceful movements as she diligently does each tasks to small things such as staring at her eyes, lips, and nose-- they were all beautiful to you and you don't think that you would ever get tired of her even after years invested into the relationship.
However, no matter how beautiful she looked, a frown crept up your face as you watch her talk to the Cavalry Captain right outside of the Knights of Favonius' headquarters. She looked drained of energy-- no, she is drained of energy and the bags under her eyes proved that.
Lately, work has started to took a toll on her, but she couldn't rest just yet. However, she has made sure to eat something once every couple of hours to get some temporary energy boost. It was something you reminded her time and time again, all in a light tone since even if she did forget to eat, you would bring her homemade food and force feed her.
"Oh, right, I should probably get going.." you mumbled, remembering that you still had something to do and can't loiter around and watch Jean at work.
With one more glance, you walked away from the scene and soon, out of the city's walls. What you had to do dealt with you going all the way to Starsnatch Cliff.
The breeze was perfect with it not being too cold and when you got there you stood near the edge of the cliff, looking at the green below. It would be a frightening thing to do but to you, it made you feel free. You extended your arms on your sides and closed your eyes, a smile appearing on your face.
You stood there for a while before turning around, eyes landing on a large rock that was surrounded with cecilias. Walking closer to it, one will see that there was a gravestone to it. Crouching down in front of it, you extended your arms to touch the stone, your fingertips tracing the outlined words that was engraved into it.
A sigh escaped your mouth unknowingly and your smile hid no longer that bitterness you held when you look at the stone. "How long..?" you muttered.
You didn't want to stay long so with one more lingering stare, you stood up and brush any dirt off of you and return to the city.
Walking past crowds of people, you returned to the headquarters. Quietly, you opened the door to Jean's office and smiled when you saw her asleep on her desk. It wasn't the best of places to sleep, but at least she was sleeping.
Walking around the desk, you reach your arms towards the sleeping female, but stopped when you saw tears streaming down her face. "(Y/N).." she sniffles. Your heart ached, suddenly feeling bitter.
You forced a smile, although it did nothing to mask your sadness. However, what was done was done and you could not revive the dead.
Yes, you are dead and have been for quite some time.
Memories of time not long ago suddenly came and reminded you of the happy times you spent with the female. The memories leading up to your death was not a happy one, however. It consisted of fighting and battling an inevitable end.
You closed your eyes and remembered the events that occurred just moments before your death. It was full of tears that night.
"I can't take it anymore, (Y/N)!" the blonde shouted, grabbing your shoulders harshly. "Can't you do it for me? Can't you try to fight for me!?"
You averted your eyes to the ground, tears streaming down both of your faces. "We can do it together!" "Don't you love me?" You remained silent, taking all the words she had once said as your heart continued to break. Then, "I do love you.." you said. "Then why can't you try..?" She fell on her knees and cried onto you, gripping your shirt tightly, fearing that you would leave at that moment.
That night was full of tears and sobs were the only sound to be heard in that house that night. Hesitantly, you gently tried to pick her up. "Hey.. Let's go to sleep now, okay?" you whispered gently, getting her to look at you. "I promise I'll try, but I'm feeling tired right now so can we pick this up tomorrow?" Oh how it was such an obvious lie that the blonde easily fell for.
Sniffling, she stood up and nod, energy drained from the constant battle she had to go through with you. That night, she held you tightly and she buried her head on your chest.
Afraid that you would leave that night, she stayed awake. "You'll try.." she croaked, her mouth dry from the shouting. "You'll get past this, (Y/N), so please try.."
You brushed her hair, also awake deep into the night. "I'll try.. For you.." It was yet another lie that rolled off your tongue so easily and she believed it.
The next day, you knew you could no longer make her go through your own battle with you. She had a bright future ahead while you were lost in the dark. You were too blind to see that light that was in front of you-- the one who was helping you fight the monsters that tried to- who eventually succeeded- get you.
When Jean was at work, you took that chance and took what was to be your last stroll all the way to the top of Starsnatch Cliff-- the last place you were seen.
You looked at the ground below, feeling your heart flutter at the thought of finally being free. With one step forward and another, you knew that it would be your last steps in the waking world.
Feeling the rush of wind blowing past you, you closed your eyes and smiled widely. You came to a conclusion that even if a place was called the City of Freedom, it could not free one's self from the void that chased behind them all their life. The City of Freedom could not protect people from their own darkness.
It was selfish of you. You had made someone love you and gave all their love to you, but you took it for granted.
Now, you had to watch the blonde work diligently during the day with obvious fatigue and cry during night, sometimes crying at your gravestone that was placed on top of the cliff. And you couldn't do a single thing-- not even able to comfort her.
Even knowing this, you put your ghostly hands on her shoulders and leaned to kiss her head.
"Sleep well, my love."

IM LATE AS HELL TO YOUR RESPONSE BUT—
ahem
past lilia that is much much taller? Also with long hair? I mean fae in their canon can change their appearance however they please soooooo 👀
AND WITH LONG HAIR HE COULD HAVE A MULAN MOMENT WHERE HE CUTS IT SHORT ONCES HE RETIRES!
him putting up his blades in favor of baby bottles? Being terrified of having to be a father to the next heir of the Valley of Thorns???
I can totally see him struggling to even know how to cook and be a good home maker…He’s been a soldier his whole life…something that heralded destruction and death and now he has this tiny fragile life that he has to nurture??
But seriously I believe that Lilia wasn’t a great parent at first, not for lack of trying or attention…more so just nerves and fear making him overbearing lmao
ok ok i’m gonna cut this short because these are just rambles rjxjejzjs but I hope you like these 👉👈
My love for Lilia never stops 💕💕

OMG??? I LOVE YOUR BRAIN SO MUCH!! GIVE IT TO ME!! This is honestly so cute, especially about Lilia putting down the sword to become a father. I totally headcanon that he was a bit more stoic and aloof back in his 'terrifying general' days.
And you know what? I sometimes think that the reason he sucks at cooking must be related to his days on the battlefield since you know, out in war, there is barely time to rest and make yourself a good, warm meal. It is best to just grab whatever ingredients are in front of you (be it even rotten) and make do with it. My mother and (I think) my other father were in military camp together and they had to eat food with dirt on them during a little exam that preps them up for the field.
It warms to think how much he's come to become much more open and even break into jokes to laugh at. Family can sometimes be a wonderful thing like with Lilia in this case. It opened him up to familial love. ><
Thank you for rambling your thoughts with me. Please do more of it in the future if you have any!
CW//Spoilers for Twisted Wonderland Diasomnia Chapter.
THE DIASOMNIA CHAPTER IS SO AHH!!
LILIA IS SO AHH!!
MALLEUS IS SO AHH!!
THE CHAPTER IS SO.. (TvT)
...
But seriously, when Lilia screamed Malleus' name, that broke me. It was with so much emotion that you can tell that Lilia cares for Malleus very much.. And the fact he never screamed like that.. I'm gonna cry again please--

Liyue- a nation of commerce. There, everyone is always up to something- be it for the good of the land or for their own selfish needs. And that soon attracted other people from other parts of Teyvat, wanting to get something- anything- from their journey to there. Everyone there are always smiles and flattery, but that is only when the dark sky- that is only lit up by the stars and moon- is blanketing their dirty business. No one really cares about what another does in the harbour as long as it doesn't affect them in the long run. Heck, they couldn't care less about who they were talking to unless they were someone of use to earn more fortune for themselves. They won't even bat an eye if someone- who they have never heard of- suddenly comes and beg for help.

"Hey, (Y/N), I bought a new book that I think you might like. It's from your favourite author too!" The second son of a wealthy family, Xingqiu, came to greet you at your usual spot-- right at the top of a mountain that faced the sea, the water gold due to the sun setting for the day and to let the night deal with the unwanted business dealings.
He sat on the grass and leaned on a stone, a small smile on his face as he looks up at the sky. It was a beautiful set of orange and yellow-- much like his eyes. With a minute passing by, he takes a breather before looking down at the book in his lap, beginning to open the new book. "I have been waiting for the next volume to be published, always going to the bookstore and stay for hours." He chuckles. "You don't know how many times the lady at the bookstore questioned me if I wanted to check the other books instead."
"It was a tempting thought but if I were to be distracted, who knows? I might miss my chance to buy a copy of it if ever came-- which it did," he says, looking at the first word of the first page. "I suppose you want me to read now. Haha, I remember how you always pester me to hurry up so I could start reading the book."
"Oh look, I'm prolonging the read even more, haha. Then, I shall read the book now," he said. This time, he stops speaking and reads the book all the while smiling, never once had it faltered away in hopes to not make you break.
Once he finished reading, he just stared at the back of the book, his smile not reaching his beautiful, golden eyes as he was drifting off in his own thoughts. In front of everyone, he was all smiles and the perfect son who was well versed in many things from poetry to martial arts. Only his dear friend, Chongyun, know how wicked he could be. But even if he was his friend, he had never seen him break down-- not even during your funeral.
It was a silent plea for help that he wished he picked up sooner. And since then, he hated himself for how useless of a lover he was to you. He always promised that he would protect you and in no way would he let harm come your way but in times of desperation, he wasn't there. So much for that promise, he thought bitterly.
He looks at the stone he was leaning against and read your name that was engraved on it. It was your stone where your spirit lies for eternity. He saw it best to have you buried here as it was one of your most favourite spots to run away from the excitement of the city and to have a little moment of peace, reading a book. He would often accompany you as well and would often lay his head on your lap as you read out loud or to yourself when he wanted to read another book.
He wished he had done something more to keep your warmth forever, but he wasn't a fortune-teller to know when you would die. He wished he was though. Now, he was left in the cold with nothing but your memory to give him more heartache.
A tear finally slips through his smiling face, breaking that smile that everyone knew. One tear. Two tears. Three. More and more kept coming that he couldn't wipe all of them away and he bit down on his bottom lip to try to stop the sobbing sounds that left him. "Why? Why didn't you tell me? I, I could have done something!" he cried, not showing his eyes as he continued to stop the tears with his arms. His smiling facade broke away and you were the first to witness it from your stone. He hiccups, choking on his own tears. Even when minutes passed, his tears did not stop and he soon buried his head in his arms, using his knees as support.
"Please come back.."
