Something about the wizard dying right after giving Billy the title Champion of Magic hurts me.

Billy isn’t told what he’s supposed to do, he wants to help people with his new power and status, but no one’s telling him how because the only one who could died in front of him.

Now he’s stumbling blindly through life trying to get it right while everyone judges him because “clearly the old wizard Shazam picked another dud, this person isn’t doing anything he’s supposed to!”

Okay, random thought, but I can definitely see Cassandra Cain hanging upside down like a bat purely to freak people out and to keep her status as a cryptid

One day he just drops out of the sky fast asleep during the Justice League fighting a threat and later that day they have to send out a public statement that “Captain Marvel is not dead, one of his patrons just will sometimes pull his blessing from Marvel so he will sleep”

Billy is not happy about his lack-of-sleep being leaked to the public cause now Fawcett heroes and civilians regularly check in to make sure he’s sleeping.

Thinking about a scenario where, for whatever reason, Atlas has to pull his blessing from Captain Marvel for a little bit and Cap doesn’t know about it until it happens.

Like, he’s at a Justice League meeting, and suddenly he’s so tired and he just falls asleep on the spot.

So the JL hear a giant thud and look over so see Captain Marvel gone limp face down on the table.

And he looks dead. It doesn’t help that he doesn’t need to breathe in his marvel form so he isn’t breathing.

Cue the freak out.

Cass, coming back from her fight to the “death” with Shiva: “I lived bitch, and so did Shiva”

Babs: “I’m so happy you’re alive! but we really gotta unpack that later…”

So we've had "skill issue," we've had "lock in," we've had "where we droppin' boys" but I put forward that if there's any one piece of borrowed internet slang Cass would get constant use out of in her day to day crimefighting career it would be "I lived bitch."

Thinking about Cassandra Cain and what the name Cain means in a biblical context.

In the Torah (I'm Jewish, so the Jewish interpretations of the text are what I'm familiar with - if any Muslims or Christians out there have different perspectives, I'd love to hear them!) Cain was a farmer, working the land to raise crops, while his brother Abel was a shepherd, raising sheep for wool and meat. They both offer sacrifices to G-d, but while Abel offers the best portion of the meat from his flock, Cain offers the worst of his crops. G-d accepts Abel's offering, but rejects Cain's. In a jealous rage, Cain kills his brother, committing the first murder and being exiled for his crime. He is destined to walk the Earth, visibly marked as an outcast, poisoning the soil he once worked in and bringing ruin to the world around him.

For Cassandra to carry this name is very interesting. It lines up perfectly with how she sees herself, especially in her earlier stories - desperately trying to please a father who she loves and fears in equal measure, until she finally does the unforgivable to earn his love. Forever tainted by a murder she committed when she was young, unable to escape it, destined to forever be an outcast from the people around her. She believes that she is a bringer of destruction, doomed to bring ruin to every life she touches; that she carries a mark upon her forehead that everyone can see, branding her forever as a murderer. She has sinned, and she can never escape that.

The blood of her victim cries out from the ground, and the mark of Cain is forever branded upon her forehead. She can never escape the curse of being eternally an outsider. She can never be clean of the blood on her hands. She can never be forgiven for what she has done.

Billy, whose parents died from being crushed by rocks in a buried tomb, watching as the wizard is killed by a massive rock falling onto him: oh…

Idk about you, but it’s very important to me that Cassandra Cain has a scratchy and sore sounding voice paired with an accent that is completely unique.

Like, that girl was homeless and wandering the US for around 9 years! Pairing that with the fact she didn’t use her voice often/at all for the first 17 years of her life then of course her voice will sound weird from the disuse!

No but I seriously can't even fathom how painful Cassandra's existence has to be.

Like, we explore exactly how horrible witnessing death is for Cassandra, she reads the pain and the understanding and the regret on a dying body, she experiences death along with its victim on real time, she is the one human being who will never get desensitized to seeing a person dying, it is even worse for her than for anyone else, and she is surrounded by death

Her entire dedicated rogue's gallery (David Cain, Shiva, the Mad Dog, the Unburied, etc) makes a point of killing any and all by-standers and she always has to see it

Imagine the most traumatic death you have ever seen or heard about, imagine the grief or the disgust you felt when you first came across it, imagine experiencing that at the same time you experience the pain of the dying person and then imagine reliving that memory two, three, ten, twenty times every night and it's always like the first time and you never get used to it, and you'd be imagining a normal Tuesday for Cassandra as Batgirl

It's agonizing, my legs shake just thinking about it, I can't even picture getting up from my bed every morning with that curse over my head. And you're telling me Cassandra, this normal human without powers and with a support network that is lackluster on a good day, not only gets up every morning but lives with it? That she can manage a semblance of normality? How much willpower does it take? I am truly floored by how amazing Cassandra is.

Do we think that Bruce Wayne sleeps with others to maintain his Brucie persona or does he just pay people to say he slept with them?

Or a secret third option where people constantly spread rumours that he sleeps around a lot and Bruce just says they are true cause it fits his persona?

This can be entirely Headcanon based if you want, I’m looking for opinions!

Flash, a look of pure shock on his face: “Batman was scared of bats?!?!?”

Green Lantern, wheezing with surprised laughter: “BATMAN WAS SCARED OF BATS!!!”

Green Arrow: “Bruce”

Bruce, looking Green arrow up and down with a judgmental look on his face: “you’ve aged-”

Green Arrow trying to finish his sentence: “well?”

Bruce, completely deadpan: “no”

Green Arrow: “…”

Bruce: “…”

Green Arrow turning around and speed walking away: “Okay! Bye!”

Bruce, pulling out a cigarette from nowhere and then lighting it with some random lighter.

Superman, nervously walking up to Bruce because he doesn’t know how to act around him: “hey Bruce? You shouldn’t be smoking in the watchtower… or like, anywhere”

Bruce just staring at him now: “…”

Superman, practically sweating now: “y’know, cause you’re… well… 16?”

Bruce, with a look of complete seriousness: “I’ll stop smoking when I inevitably smash a hole through one of the windows and let myself —and hopefully everyone else— get sucked into space to freeze and die”

Superman, backing away while trying to figure out if he was joking or not: “okay I’m just going to go now…”

Bruce: “so you can make anything with that ring?”

Green Lantern: “yep! Anything”

Bruce: “can you make a crowbar?”

Green Lantern, thinking he’s bonding with Bruce and conjures up a crowbar: “yeah”

Bruce, grabs the crowbar without warning and throws it at Green Arrow’s meeting chair, effectively making a huge dent in it.

Bruce: “cool” *walks away*

Green Lantern: *horrified and confused*
