It’s actually so disheartening to see how many people think de-platforming is the only solution to an issue with a content creator, especially one who’s expressed remorse and wants to grow and change.

In my opinion de-platforming should be reserved for creators who are currently an active danger if they have a platform. Someone who’s apologized and is making an effort to change is clearly not an active danger so I just don’t believe that they deserve to loose everything they’ve worked towards 😭

dream’s favorite disney princess is belle, his favorite flower was the rose but changed it to ‘the most recent flower he received’, he cried to marley and me, he cried at the prospect of not getting to see spiderman no way home in theaters, he sent a whole box of merch to a fan’s family because their little brother got bullied, he keeps homeless kits in his car, he left work early and cried for hours when he found out his cat was dying, his bought his mom a pair of earrings on mother’s day, he keeps every fan letter ever sent to him in a scrapbook, he sends long and meaningful thanksgiving messages to friends and family every year, he visited a children’s hospital and sang for them, he draws smiley faces on his nails, he had a room built just for patches, he wanted a quail coop at his house :(

Binders are hand wash only and I've STRUGGLED and i cannot recommend enough: get your ass an antique washboard! Get one with a textured glass board! Rub soap onto the textured part of the glass and then rub your binder against it and all sweat and soil fucking disappears! This washboard must have been a huge game changer for our ancestors who used to have to lay shit on a rock and beat it with a stick. The textured glass washboard makes hand washing so fucking easy! Trans man lifehack, wash your tit holster like a Victorian lady!!

to be honest? I feel very calm right now. I just think that, no matter the outcome, we’re all gonna be okay <3 and I’m not gonna expend extra energy being upset before I even know the full picture. Which is so much easier said than done but somehow that switch got flipped in my brain so.

I think I’ll probably have more to say after george’s statement. I doubt I’ll be this calm forever and it’s likely I will cry again at some point. But that’s okay. It’s all a push and pull, and however you’re feeling about the situation is totally fine and valid.

hm. I don’t think fandom should ever be more of a source of stress than comfort. I know you didn’t ask, but as of right now, I feel like my level of investment in the dream team and related creators is at a very healthy level. Especially compared to how I was in oct ‘22 lol. But as it is, I have other interests I can fall back on. A lot of my creative works have always been about the dsmp characters. My point is that taking a step back whilst this unfolds has been almost surprisingly easy for me. And, honestly, after the first few hours when I was processing everything, I feel pretty level headed about everything.

Anyway, it’s okay to be not okay right now. It’s okay to step back. It’s okay to leave regardless of the outcome because this fandom can be stressful. And if you ever reach a point where that stress isn’t worth the good parts of the fandom? then it’s okay to leave.

All he was establishing was that Caiti's best friend and him have been in contact since Harry's confused tweets about this incident and he was never informed about anything that happened at the party. And he thought this whole time the main issue was that he supplied an 18 year old with alcohol unknowingly. Like that's all that's saying

The thing about snakes is, and the thing I really like about cc!Dream’s metaphor, is that snakes don’t like to bite. Snakes don’t want, to bite. Especially those with venom.

Biting is risky, biting is a last line of defense. A snake will do literally everything else before that, to scare the danger away. They’ll puff up, flatten themselves, open their hoods if they have one, open their mouths, make themselves look bigger, more threatening. They’ll hiss and buzz their tails and make noise and back up. And when everything else fails, they bite.

And sometimes biting is the only thing that works. It’s the only thing that sticks.

And maybe a snake that just bites is a snake that’s learned that nothing else works.

How long did it take for c!Dream to finally learn that nothing else works? How many other things has he tried? How many other times has he failed?

Rewatching VODs again and it's sad to see how at the start of his imprisonment, Dream was trying so hard to downplay the prison's conditions and stay optimistic about them.

During Tommy's first visit, he says to Tommy, "It's not too bad, right? I can write and I can read and they bring me food." He talks about the new game he can play with his clock.

When Bad visits, Dream admits that Sam sometimes gives him less food when he burns his clock, but that he's not starving because he "[has] potatoes." He says that Sam is "treating [him] amazing" and that he's fine when Bad asks him if he's okay.

Tommy visits him again a month after the first visit, and by then Dream's attitude has changed entirely. Tommy says he's been suffering from success, and Dream replies, "Me too. Except for without the success part, just suffering." Then when Quackity visits him the first time and asks how he's been, Dream only says, "I've been."

Later after Techno gets locked up with Dream, he no longer attempts to downplay anything. Techno jokingly complains about Dream not being positive, and Dream can only think of saying, "Since you've been in here, I haven't been tortured. So I'll give you that much, that's been better." He tells Techno how there's absolutely nothing to do in the cell and how he's been eating nothing but "raw, disgusting potatoes" for the past months.  

Dream did his best to convince himself and others that everything would be fine, that he could deal with the prison's conditions. He tells Sam that he thought the prisoner (himself) "would be fine with potatoes, would be fine with not seeing the courtyard." That he didn't realize how bad it would be. But the longer his imprisonment lasted, the harder it became to deal with it. Dream tries one last time to ask Sam for better food and to see the courtyard and then is forced to give up, trapped behind glass and with no hope of ever getting out.

She regrets nothing.
