I Totally Get What You’re Saying. To Get Jegulus And Jegulily, You Have To Change All Their Characters

An internal monologue I wrote from Regulus’ perspective about Jily. *Incredibly angsty.* (i don’t know how to do the read more thing but know that I would if I could)

I can’t identify my feelings while watching you. You walking in with her on your arm. You move your arm around her waist. She nuzzles into your neck, you kiss her hair.

You look happy. Different from when you were with me. You were happy with me too, but not like that. You look calm. At peace. Like everything has finally fallen in place. Well, everything was already in place, I guess I was the only thing that wasn’t.

I can’t even get mad. Trust me, I am. I am devastated.

No one knows. No one can see. But I am in mourning.

People say love shouldn’t hurt but love is hurt. Love is pain, jealousy, anger, fear, a slow and unmarked torture.

There’s a reason they call it heartache. To ache to be near them, to ache when you’re apart from them. There’s a reason you ‘fall’ in love. It is not deliberate, nor wanted, and if you don’t figure out how you’re going to land before you do, you’ll break.

But I have no right to hurt. I thought you were mine. You told me you were. But seeing you now… I guess we were both foolish. Because I will always be yours, but you were clearly never mine.

I can’t be upset with you when I was the one to fuck it all up. I was the one who pulled away when things got difficult. I was the one who shut down when you yelled. I was the one who couldn’t give you a proper answer. Couldn’t tell you just how much you mean to me. I hope you know I tried. I tried so hard. I promise.

I don’t think my promises mean much to you anymore.

But now, here we are. With you so happy, and me so far away. We were always in different worlds. Living different lives. But there was a point in time when you actually convinced me we could create a new one together. Just for us.

That’s the cruel thing about time. It gives you so much. It lets you experience things, love things, only to take it all away. The feeling lingers, the situation does not.

I wish time would speed up. Then the ache would fade. Then you would graduate and I wouldn’t be forced to watch you fall without me.

Then I would be dead. A fool who loved in silence. A fool who died in love.

Then you would be dead.

A fool who loved out loud.

A fool who died in love.

Someone notices Regulus singing a song nonstop and when they ask him what song it is he just says he doesn’t know and walks away.

And then like a month later the song comes out on the radio and that person is just losing their shit.

Seer! Regulus but it only allows him to randomly know songs (mostly muggle) that have yet to be written. Like imagine he goes to to Lucius and Narcissa's wedding and just starts humming 'Barbie Girl' by Aqua.

Sirius pisses him off and so Regulus screams 'Who let the dogs out' at the top of his lungs.

Regulus had really shit grades for the first few years at hogwarts.

He was really stiff and never got the wand motions right. He got anxious during tests and blanked. He was really bad at chopping things and ended up nicking his fingers during potions (which was never good with the whole hemophilia thing), he was taught to never get dirty (man’s always had hand sanitizer) so he hated herbology. He was always good at flying lessons and astronomy though.

He never asked questions or for extra help because he was scared people would think he was dumb.

He was also dealing with Sirius not talking to him anymore no matter how many times he tried to get his attention.

He got even more stressed when he knew his mother would find out about his grades and started having frequent anxiety attacks. Madame Pomfrey soon realized that his anxiety attacks were from school and started to help him.

She taught him healing spells, potions, how to work with herbs and cleaning spells, and meditation. The one on one lessons really helped Regulus notice his mistakes and helped him loosen up.

This was how he found out Remus was a werewolf. He loved magical creatures and read about them in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them so he was already suspicious. He soon put two and two together when he would wake up in the hospital wing and Pomfrey would be fussing over someone who wasn’t there the night before.

Also just imagine Remus and Regulus sitting on opposite beds while Pomfrey teaches them how to clear their mind. Or Remus realizing why Regulus was in the hospital wing all the time and encouraged Sirius to talk to him.

Sirius: my brother and I get along really well

James: you- you just shoved him into the wall and called him stupid?

Sirius: . . . you clearly don’t understand sibling relationships

Regulus’ first crush was Newt Scamander. He would always reread fantastic beasts just so he could get to the picture of him at the end. He didn’t really understand why he would start to blush if he looked too long. His dreams were filled with curly golden hair, high cheek bones, and a tiny smile that he wouldn’t mind kissing.

His passion for magical creatures would bleed into his fascination for this man and vice versa. This was why he loved them so much.

This was also why, a few months after first getting the book and sitting with his brother on the train ride to Hogwarts, he could barely look Remus Lupin in the eye without his whole face going red.

It is my personal belief that Regulus Black would’ve listened to rage rap.

I think Walburga liked Sirius more than Regulus. Sirius fought back. He was a leader, a protector. He was strong minded and passionate but also incredibly loyal to his friends. Walburga thought that if she could get Sirius to agree with her ideals, all of his characteristics would fall perfectly in place of Voldemort’s right hand man. He wouldn’t be just another DE, he would be in the inner circle. Walburga didn’t expect much from Regulus, so she didn’t care about him as much. Regulus was submissive and didn’t think for himself. She knew he would become a DE, so she didn’t pay attention to him. When Sirius left, Walburga was left with her spare. She was disappointed with not having a strong enough heir to be of more importance to Voldemort. Regulus was the disappointment in her eyes.

She was wrong about Regulus though. Regulus wasn’t submissive, he was strategic. He had his own opinions and ideals, he just never said them because he knew it wouldn’t get him anywhere. He knew how Sirius was treated and figured that speaking up for himself just wasn’t worth it. He became a DE because he wanted to. He felt awful about his brother hating him for it, but he agreed with the world he was told Voldemort wanted to create (I think he was manipulated into thinking Voldemort just wanted a peaceful world where everyone could be free).

When Regulus realized he’d been tricked, he didn’t want to be just another soldier on the light side like his brother, he wanted to take down Voldemort himself. (Little dramatic but love the enthusiasm) He sacrificed his life knowing that he would never get to say goodbye, never get to redeem himself in his brother’s eyes. It wasn’t expected nor welcome of him to do such a thing but he didn’t care. He did what he wanted, whether people knew it or not.

Okay look I know what I posted two seconds ago was contributing to this but it still confuses me:

Why is it that Snape lovers trash Regulus and vice versa?

Like, Snape lovers use Regulus to justify Snape’s actions because he switched sides when Regulus never did.

But then Snape haters say that Regulus sacrificed his life to take down Voldemort and Snape was just saving his own ass.

Of course there are many more arguments, but I just feel like you can’t really use their characters against each other.

Personally, I do love people having debates about each characters morality, but some people take it way too far for it to be about made up characters in a kids book.

It’s just like, why Regulus Black, y’know?

Idk if people do this anymore but I need help finding a fic that I read like a month ago. It’s a jegulus fic where Regulus doesn’t have a car so Sirius has James drive him to work. James says he’s straight but him and Reg have this flirty lil relationship. One night James comes to Reg drunk and they canoodle but James is gone in the morning I think?? I’m a lil fuzzy on that detail. After that Reg starts dating Kingsley because he’s not gonna fuck with a straight boy again. Then Kingsley moves away and they break up and then Reg and James get together. Also Sirius and Remus fell in love doing porn together and that’s their little side story

The fic was like three chapters but the word count was probably around 10,000-40,000, I can’t imagine it being longer than that.

I loved it and it was fun but now I can’t find it so SOMEBODY ANYBODY HELP ME PLEASE

Regulus Black Headcanons

He was extremely pale but when he blushed his whole face turned red. He hated it, especially because of how easy it was to make him blush

He had hemophilia (as a product of inbreeding). Something about it just makes sense.

He resembled his father while Sirius resembled their mother. He was quiet, reserved, and was often seen as apathetic. (But he could scream like a fucking banshee, he had to get something from his mother)

He’s the kind of person to kick you when your down b/c he thinks it’s really funny. He only does it to his friends b/c he knows they can take it but he definitely talks shit about other people to them. Like, Barty would get a really shit grade on a test and Reg would say, “Well at least you’re good looking, oh WAIT”and run out before Barty can throw something at him.

He reads muggle books and enchants the covers so no one knows.

He lies about his favorite book genre because it’s trashy romance.

He was a hat stall because he was having a whole conversation with himself in his head and the hat couldn’t get a word in. After five minutes of him weighing the pros and cons of each house he says to the hat ‘okay, put me in Ravenclaw’. The hat stays silent for a second and screams ‘SLYTHERIN’

Regulus can hold a grudge like a BITCH. He’s still mad at the hat for not going with his decision (even though he knows it was right)

He had a hard time growing hair when he was little and was really insecure about it. Just imagine him with the worst little rat moustache.

He took pride in his hygiene. He had a skin and haircare routine, flossed, and moisturized. He clipped his nails and made sure they looked nice (or tried to since he bit his nails a lot). He even brought silk pillowcases to school.

He wrote music. You can’t convince me other wise. This bitch played piano and violin, two of the hardest instruments to learn, and wrote pieces for both of them.

He bit his nails. He thought it was really disgusting because he hated germs but he wouldn’t realize he was doing it until he was three nails in.

He absolutely had a blanky when he was little. He slept with it but hid it from his dorm mates in his first year. Bellatrix set it on fire and Regulus didn’t leave his room for weeks.
