Are Flawless Blades basically just streamers for daemonic audiences?

Anyways, I have a new headcanon.

I love how, in any sane setting, the T'au would be The Villains, capital T capital V, but in 40k they're about the closest the setting gets to "good guys". They're an expansionist colonial empire that tries to force their ideology on everyone they meet and exterminates the people they deem incompatible with it, and somehow, because 40k is just that fucked up, they are one of the more reasonable factions in the galaxy.

People write million word books on there, and people write 100 word shitposts (I think the proper word is "drabbles" but I've got no idea). I personally find its tagging system very useful, since it's got the ability to filter tags both in and out, though I'm not sure how much of that is my own technological ineptness.

Last bit on nonsense for now. No more noise until next weekend.

AO3.

Yes or no?

I don't have an account. I find the idea of it intimidating.

People write book length pieces of fiction. Multiple chapters. Ships. I don't even ship canon love interests, never mind fictional ones.

I'm just a needy little Internet goblin who lives in a hole called Tumblr. Occasionally, I shout into the void.

But what if that one silly story gets a little attention? What if it flies?

I'm going to bed. Something for next weekend.

fulgrim did nothing wrong.

Maybe it's just the people I follow, but I feel like the Emperor's Children community on Tumblr has a bit of a woobification issue. I wasn't sure how to describe it, but that word fits.

Lucius is a pretty neat character--compared to the other Chaos Champions, he didn't have that big a role in his legion's fall to Chaos--he was even slated to die alongside the Loyalists on Istvaan III. He still became Slaanesh's champion. He has, through his personality and abilities, pleased Slaanesh far more than Eidolon, who practically orchestrated the Legion's entire fall, and I don't think people talk about it enough.

He doesn't "win by losing", he wins when he loses. He's a damn good fighter, and he's been doing it for ten millennia. If he was bad, there'd be so many faces on his armor that you wouldn't even be able to make them out.

Those faces also serve to torment him. As someone else pointed out, "every one of those faces is a reminder that the fact that he's alive means he's been beat". And it pisses him off, because he's a proud bastard--and he damn well should be, he's the champion of a Chaos God.

Lucius is no girlfail at all

I have reposted the girlfail-post, because it's fun and I got a laugh out of it, but my more earnest opinion is: Lucius is incredibly successful.

Some of his accomplishments without any claim to completeness:

Beating the Mournival in consecutive duels (Loken cheated by Emperor's Children-standards, so fuck him)

He's made Captain in a perfectionist Legion of Aristocrats, despite hailing from gladiatorial pits.

He made Palatine Blade - elite of the elite

He organized a coup against Fulgrim, because he wanted the demon out and survived (by staying mostly out of it, but that shows that he has a brain indeed)

He impressed Slaanesh enough to become his Champion.

He impressed Fulgrim enough the Primarch strongarmed Fabius into reviving Lucius.

He impressed Ahriman enough the Chief Librarian kept him as bodyguard/killer (and didn't betray him - a rare occurance with Ahriman).

He isn't the most social guy, yet he became leader of a rather successful warband.

He killed a Bloodthirster (with the help of his Raptors, but still!)

40k Fulgrim uses him as his personal hitman.

He had fun fighting and killing in Commorragh (he got asked to leave).

And that's just from the top of my head. Lucius is one of the most successful, ruthless Chaos Marines still in existence.

He is one of many characters that gets reduced to a joke in meme lore.

Hell, I'm not even sure if this one is entirely TTS's fault, too. He's pretty menacing there if you think about it for a nonzero amount of time.

"I Don't Meddle With The Unintellectuals" Get This Fulgrim Slander Out Of My Face. Fulgrim Worked Tirelessly

"I don't meddle with the unintellectuals" get this Fulgrim slander out of my face. Fulgrim worked tirelessly for the common people of Chemos before the Emperor found him, and he carried those values of lifting up the downtrodden with him throughout the Great Crusade, and likely beyond.

Big fan of this reddit "chose your husband" primarch memes depiction of Konrad. I don't like the Dorn one, it makes him sound like an asshole and I have varying opinions on the rest. But the Konrad one is perfect.

And I like how his dark and gritty nature and cuddles were actually connected kinda like a trauma response rather than the generic edgy guy.

Also this glorious comment by redditor Jaxolotle:

I spent a lot of time handcuffed and in a cage in high school, for a charity bit the grocery store I worked at would do

the bit was that I was "put in jail for having too big a heart" and customers could donate to my bail to get me out (and the money would go to a children's hospital or something)

now. I was very clearly a teenaged employee handcuffed inside a large cage. and I would honestly tell people that I had been in there for hours. and people would say, that's terrible! that's awful! and I would show them my wrists red from the tight handcuffs, and say but I'm sooooooo close to making bail.

and then they would dump some cash in the basket, I'd thank them, and they'd walk away.

and every so often, one of the managers would come by and collect some of the cash, so I could keep being soooooo close to making bail.

I was very good with this bit. Parents with small kids would pay $5-10 if I told their children I had been placed in jail for not cleaning my room/doing my homework, etc. For people in their 20s, I'd threaten that I was very bad at playing the harmonica, but I WOULD play it and we'd all suffer unless they paid me. and for the most amount of money, older men in suits would almost always pay $20s if I avoided eye contact and stammered a lot.

eventually, the managers started to feel bad because I was in the cage so fucking long and often, that I'd need someone to brace me when I got out because I'd have no feeling in my legs. wobbling like a newborn giraffe.

but I would also rake in at LEAST $100 an hour in charity.

so they were like, hey champ. can we, uh, give you a pillow to sit on. in the cage. would you like a pillow so you're not just sitting on a cold metal slab. can we give you a pillow.

and I had to explain to them that if they gave me a pillow, people would think I was more comfortable, so they wouldn't feel as bad, so I'd bring in less money.

the compromise was that they'd bring me a nice coffee every couple hours, which I would have to try to block with my body from the customers.

all this money went to charity. that's what the money was for. it's what was on the sign. but how much they were willing to pay was very contingent on how comfortable I looked, never mind the fact that I was still a teenaged employee handcuffed inside a cage.

and out of the dozens of shifts I did this on, not ONCE did ANYONE say, hey kid I'm going to go talk to your manager because what the fuck is going on here. they would just drop money in the basket, and I'd thank them and sip from my secret drink.

I actually had people get MAD at me that I told them I was far away from bail, they donated like $15, and then 20 minutes I got let out because my shift ended.

again. the money was for charity. it was on the sign that was very clearly placed on the upper half of my cage.

so yeah. even when people think they mean well. people can be really, really fucking stupid.

Something monat-based would be pretty cool.

Saw some people suggesting Tau as an antagonist faction for one of the Titus Space Marine games.

It would not happen for various reasons, but most importantly is that I don't think the average gamer would tolerate their player-character getting bisected by a rail-rifle from across the map, geneseed and blood splattered upon stone, Repeatedly.

...

We need a new Fire Warrior game where you can bisect Marines (Loyalist or Chaos) with all manner of Tau weapons.

Had he not fallen, he would have been the best primarch. He was someone who cared about the common people of the Imperium, believing that each had the potential to do great things, if only they were given the chance. He conquered worlds through sheer charisma, not just military force.

It should be noted, however, that the Laer Blade wasn't the sole reason behind his fall, merely the tipping point. It latched onto his insecurities about needing to be good enough, and fed them until they consumed him. At the same time, the legion was being corrupted by similar insecurities--Bile's experimentation to integrate the Laer's stuff was done on Eidolon's orders, not Fulgrim's, and it's implied that Eidolon was actually going against Fulgrim's orders in doing so.

🥀 The Fall of Fulgrim

-I've yet to finish his books but I cannot fathom the wasted potential Fulgrim would've had if only he did not pick up that damn sword.

(art by me)

Still new in the warhammer fandom but I've been enjoying my time making primarch pieces

Do It.

Do it.

I think the reason why I dislike Guillivraine so much is because of the fact that, imo, the majority of the shippers don't really take the ship seriously themselves. Jokes about ships are fine and cool, but that's literally all I see about the ship. Not two people carrying the burden of trying to save their respective races from certain doom and feeling understood by the other. Not two people haunted and traumatized by their respective pasts. Not all the nuances and difficulties that would happen in the case of Human x Eldar relationship: diplomatic, platonic and especially romantic.

But nope. Its quite literally just a xenophilia joke to even the shippers themselves. I don't mind xenophilia jokes about human x alien relationships in 40k, but not when it's... just everything there is to the pair.

Well, if there's a better time for me to start glazing Messages For Dad, it would be now. https://archiveofourown.org/works/21518860/chapters/51293176

That fic pretty much carries the Guillivraine ship in my eyes. It does tend to focus more on things in 30k than 40k, and it does have some other weirdness (a lot of heavily enforced gender roles in the Imperium, among other things), but it's very good, and it does take the ship seriously, and does explore the dynamics of such a relationship.

You know, I can kind of see the fire prism one.

And now I want to see someone draw shipgirl-like versions of each of those tanks.

(I would but I suck at drawing)

what warhammer tank do you think is the most fuckable looking?

Objectively, the Caladius Grav-Tank is pretty and curvy and fancy, but the Hekaton Land Fortress, if that counts, is four Cs thicc at the back, which you simply can't ignore. The Fire Prism brings that "femboy packing a monster can" energy which is quite popular nowadays, and so worth consideration. The Baneblade line is obviously appealing at a surface level, but the poor ballistic skill speaks to a quantity-over-quality situation that would leave even the neediest Magos disappointed.

What do you take him for? Some kind of scientist?

I like to imagine Cawl making AI copies of Pre-Heresy Fulgrim and Ferrus (something along the vibe of Bile making Clonegrim and Cawl making AI Roboute) but he hides them inside a computer or something so no one can find it, and these two living AI copies are kinda just chilling in a made up world together, thinking this is reality and that they're in a time of peace post-crusade and forging weapons every day to pass the time.

Can you imagine something like San Junipero from Black Mirror? Where these two are still close and happy together, living in a fake world inside a computer/simulation (╥ᆺ╥;)

Yes, This Does Count As An Aerospace Question. And Yes, Their Aerodynamics Are Quite Bad. They Would

Yes, this does count as an aerospace question. And yes, their aerodynamics are quite bad. They would not fly very well with modern technology.

That "with modern technology" part is the key word, there. Because according to the lore, a lot of them can canonically fly very well.

Most canon speeds for 40k aircraft are 2000 kph or more, at about a mile above sea level. The speed of sound at that altitude is a bit over 1200 kph, for reference. Having 20,000+ km of range (eg they could fly from anywhere on earth to anywhere else on earth) isn't uncommon, either.

Many are also single-stage-to-orbit spacecraft (meaning that when they go to space, they take the entire spacecraft with them, and don't have boosters that they drop partway up like real world rockets), and all of those are reusable (meaning they can make multiple flights to and from orbit) and able to withstand reentry without any heat shielding beyond whatever armor they might have (and they are armored, with larger craft like the Thunderhawk being similar in durability to heavier tanks like Land Raiders).

There are a few conclusions you can draw from that.

Any of these aircraft would experience immense drag when flying (or when reentering the atmosphere). Not only does this mean that their airframes would need to be able to withstand the stress from that drag, they also need engines powerful enough to push them against it.

The combination of their range and single-stage-to-orbit capacity (and payload) means that they are powered by something far more energy-dense than any real world fuel.

I have a feeling that a space marine (talking about in armour here btw) might actualy be more earodynamic than any of the space marine planes

You know what? Yeah

Thunderhawks don't fly. They take engines and point them straight down. When they need to move, they take more engines and point them backwards. Sometimes there's ailerons or rudders to change direction. Other times they just use more engines.

It's engines all the way down.

So... appearantly when Bile falls asleep, he dreams of his fucking surgery thingy deattaching itself from him and conducting its own experiments. This is a genuine canon thing.

Just kidding, the Imperium is run by puritanical morons. They'd never do that.

Considering that one of the fundamental principles of BDSM is that it be safe, sane, and consensual, proper BDSM is, in fact, anathema to Slaanesh, and would therefore be encouraged by the Imperium of Man. In this essay I will

I have things I want art of that I am a mix of unwilling and unable to pay someone else to do, so I do it myself.

Be honest, how on earth do you get into the mindset of doing art for fun and self-expression instead of doing art that you think others will like to make money

There is a reason my homebrew chapter is a Blood Angels successor.

I'm quite fond of femboy vampires in power armor with jet packs.

Waiiit, a minute...

Hmm...

Let me check something real quick, *ehem*

FULGRIM IS A LITTLE BITCH!!! JUST A STUPID FEMBOY!!! HE CAN'T DO ANYTHING AND HE ACHIEVED NOTHING, EVEN BEFORE CHAOS GOT HIS ASS!!! HE NEVER LOVED ANYONE!!!! PERTURABO IS A CHAD FOR BEATING HIM UP IN ANGEL EXTERMINATUS!!!!! FERRUS AND HORUS SHOULD'VE NEVER TRUSTED HIM!!!!

I think the Dark Angels would probably also have Watcher In The Dark plushies. They're just some little guys.

Warhammer and plushies

So I had this idea for some drawings I might do in the future, since my warhammer brainrot has come back.

I remember when I did a sleepy chibi Lion El'Jonhson, during a conversation with a friend, she said he needed a sleeping buddy, a lion knight plushie.

That got me thinking lately..

What if each loyalist legion has their own line of plushies for sale? Like merch!

Their main purpose is as imperium propaganda for kids, but i also thought it would be an interesting source of revenue for a chapter of space marines to have, as well as serving for comfort for the children of the Imperium since the 42nd Millenium isn't very nice all around.

However there are a few questions about the plushies that i have:

1) What should they be?

- Little space marines are the most obvious answer, but I find that a little too boring, though I think some space marine plushies probably already exist in canon

- Little animal buddies, based off ancient Terran animals and myths, but in space marine armor, while I like this idea, there's a problem with it, not all legions have a clear animal motif I can think of:

Dark Angels - Lions

White Scars - Horses (?)

Space Wolves - Wolves

Imperial Fists - ???

Blood Angels - ???

Iron Hands - ???

Ultramarines - Eagles (?)

Salamanders - Dragons

Raven Guard - Ravens/Corvids

2) What exactly should their design be based off?

Are they just little guys in space marine armor?

Are there different version of the plushie for different ranks?

Could the plushies each have a common trade amongst imperial citizens (like a farmer or factory worker) instructing children abt those vital roles in the functioning of the Imperium?

Or perhaps they could instruct the different jobs one might have within a space marine chapter, like apothetecary or librarian?

Maybe they each could symbolize a kind of world in the Imperium, like the Dark Angel's represents the Feudal Worlds, the Space Wolves' represent the Death Worlds, etc..?

I honestly find the last 2 ideas very interesting, but I do want to know what people think about this idea in general

Here's an image to examplify the kind of cute plushie vibe of thought these guys would have:

Wolfy, an absolutely adorable animated stuffed brown wolf toy in purple attire and a little hat on his left ear, from genshin impact's imaginarium theater

Thank you all for enjoying my rant about plushies and 40k ৻( •̀ ᗜ •́ ৻)

Thinking about it, their argument and attitude are even more comparable to anti-woke grifters than I originally thought. They're both based in a premise that canon doesn't change, and they're both insisting that their interpretation of the lore which ignores what canon has explicitly stated is canon-compliant because of it.

I've got no problem with people ignoring lore that they think is dumb. I did that with female Custodes before they got added in. I do have a problem with people doing it and claiming that it's a valid interpretation of the lore.

The Funny Thing Is They've Basically Got The Opposite Stance On FSM. One Says They Can't Exist Ever,

The funny thing is they've basically got the opposite stance on FSM. One says they can't exist ever, because lore, one says they do exist and always have, because lore.
