So, What Would You Have Had Him Do?

So, what would you have had him do?

MF be like "Leandros should have gone to a chaplain or libarian and handled his suspicions of Titus in-house", and you know what? I get that. There's precedent for it. I remember reading about this big incident at the end of the Great Crusade where space marines handled suspicions of heresy in-house. I don't quite remember the name. Something starting with an "H", I think.

Kind of the point of the 40k AU I'm writing. I want to create a world to share with others.

reblog if you’re okay with people writing fanfics of your fanfics and/or fanfics inspired by your fanfics

Reblogging because I crave attention.

Messaging people for the first time is so hard. What am I supposed to say? Like, "You seem really odd and your blog intrigues me. Do you want to have philosophical conversations or perhaps talk about fictional characters?" What! Whatever. I will just follow you back and stare at your blog with my big beautiful brown eyes.

Why can’t real life cities be 10 mile tall gothic metropolises with red and black and skulls and statues of weeping saints everywhere

Maybe it's just the people I follow, but I feel like the Emperor's Children community on Tumblr has a bit of a woobification issue. I wasn't sure how to describe it, but that word fits.

Lucius is a pretty neat character--compared to the other Chaos Champions, he didn't have that big a role in his legion's fall to Chaos--he was even slated to die alongside the Loyalists on Istvaan III. He still became Slaanesh's champion. He has, through his personality and abilities, pleased Slaanesh far more than Eidolon, who practically orchestrated the Legion's entire fall, and I don't think people talk about it enough.

He doesn't "win by losing", he wins when he loses. He's a damn good fighter, and he's been doing it for ten millennia. If he was bad, there'd be so many faces on his armor that you wouldn't even be able to make them out.

Those faces also serve to torment him. As someone else pointed out, "every one of those faces is a reminder that the fact that he's alive means he's been beat". And it pisses him off, because he's a proud bastard--and he damn well should be, he's the champion of a Chaos God.

Lucius is no girlfail at all

I have reposted the girlfail-post, because it's fun and I got a laugh out of it, but my more earnest opinion is: Lucius is incredibly successful.

Some of his accomplishments without any claim to completeness:

Beating the Mournival in consecutive duels (Loken cheated by Emperor's Children-standards, so fuck him)

He's made Captain in a perfectionist Legion of Aristocrats, despite hailing from gladiatorial pits.

He made Palatine Blade - elite of the elite

He organized a coup against Fulgrim, because he wanted the demon out and survived (by staying mostly out of it, but that shows that he has a brain indeed)

He impressed Slaanesh enough to become his Champion.

He impressed Fulgrim enough the Primarch strongarmed Fabius into reviving Lucius.

He impressed Ahriman enough the Chief Librarian kept him as bodyguard/killer (and didn't betray him - a rare occurance with Ahriman).

He isn't the most social guy, yet he became leader of a rather successful warband.

He killed a Bloodthirster (with the help of his Raptors, but still!)

40k Fulgrim uses him as his personal hitman.

He had fun fighting and killing in Commorragh (he got asked to leave).

And that's just from the top of my head. Lucius is one of the most successful, ruthless Chaos Marines still in existence.

The first of my japanese-style battle-barges is pretty much done. I might do some touching-up later (and frankly the cell-shading could use some work), but the modelling is pretty much done.

Literally that scene from Renegades: Harrowmaster

You're an Ad Mech wandering the halls of the ship at night. In a darkened part of the ship with low traffic, you hear something. Mournful and ghostly. You follow it to see if it's a servitor that got stuck.

You find a marine, crying in the corner. You dare to approach and see what is wrong.

It's Alpharius. He's upset because not even his own legion believes it's him when he tells them.

Organization

Like other chapters, the Emerald Wings consist of ten companies of ten squads each. The first company is the veteran company, the second through fifth companies are the battle companies, and the sixth through ninth companies are the reserve companies. The tenth company, however, is a support company, instead of the scout company in codex-compliant chapters (the Emerald Wings' scouts instead serve alongside the reserve companies), made up of heavy support squads.

The veteran company is made up of five Vanguard veteran squads and five Sternguard veteran squads, all fully equipped with jump packs. The chapter generally does not use terminator armor, as it is not mobile enough for their preferred doctrines.

Each of the battle and reserve companies is made up of four tactical squads, four assault squads, and two devastator squads. All ten squads in each of the battle companies are fully equipped with jump packs, as well as between two and five squads from each reserve company. None of the devastator squads in the reserve company are equipped with jump packs.

The tenth company is made up of ten devastator squads. These squads are generally not equipped with jump packs, often being made up of marines who have become injured or slow and unable to fight as effectively with a jump pack.

The Emerald Wings' airwing is easily their biggest divergence from the Codex Astartes. Unlike other chapters, who draw their pilots and drivers from the reserve companies, each aircraft of the Emerald Wings has its own dedicated crew, who pilot that aircraft in all engagements.

The Emerald Wings Space Marine Chapter

Starting a lore dump on my homebrew chapter (Yes, the blog is named after them)

Founded in the Eighth Founding, the Emerald Wings were one of a few chapters created at the time to carry on the legacy of Sanguinius.

Since their founding, they have earned a reputation for a mastery of aerial warfare, making heavy use of aircraft, skimmers, and jump packs. Aircraft and jump packs in particular are central to the Emerald Wings' doctrines, to the point where they are the biggest points of divergence between the chapter and the Codex Astartes.

I think the Dark Angels would probably also have Watcher In The Dark plushies. They're just some little guys.

Warhammer and plushies

So I had this idea for some drawings I might do in the future, since my warhammer brainrot has come back.

I remember when I did a sleepy chibi Lion El'Jonhson, during a conversation with a friend, she said he needed a sleeping buddy, a lion knight plushie.

That got me thinking lately..

What if each loyalist legion has their own line of plushies for sale? Like merch!

Their main purpose is as imperium propaganda for kids, but i also thought it would be an interesting source of revenue for a chapter of space marines to have, as well as serving for comfort for the children of the Imperium since the 42nd Millenium isn't very nice all around.

However there are a few questions about the plushies that i have:

1) What should they be?

- Little space marines are the most obvious answer, but I find that a little too boring, though I think some space marine plushies probably already exist in canon

- Little animal buddies, based off ancient Terran animals and myths, but in space marine armor, while I like this idea, there's a problem with it, not all legions have a clear animal motif I can think of:

Dark Angels - Lions

White Scars - Horses (?)

Space Wolves - Wolves

Imperial Fists - ???

Blood Angels - ???

Iron Hands - ???

Ultramarines - Eagles (?)

Salamanders - Dragons

Raven Guard - Ravens/Corvids

2) What exactly should their design be based off?

Are they just little guys in space marine armor?

Are there different version of the plushie for different ranks?

Could the plushies each have a common trade amongst imperial citizens (like a farmer or factory worker) instructing children abt those vital roles in the functioning of the Imperium?

Or perhaps they could instruct the different jobs one might have within a space marine chapter, like apothetecary or librarian?

Maybe they each could symbolize a kind of world in the Imperium, like the Dark Angel's represents the Feudal Worlds, the Space Wolves' represent the Death Worlds, etc..?

I honestly find the last 2 ideas very interesting, but I do want to know what people think about this idea in general

Here's an image to examplify the kind of cute plushie vibe of thought these guys would have:

Wolfy, an absolutely adorable animated stuffed brown wolf toy in purple attire and a little hat on his left ear, from genshin impact's imaginarium theater

Thank you all for enjoying my rant about plushies and 40k ৻( •̀ ᗜ •́ ৻)
