The signs of time
I just really really need a good drive-thru café that’s open past midnight. Please, for the sake of all night owls!
Actively hate the discourse against 24/7 places like I get where you're coming from but in my ideal world a lot of shit would be 24/7 just with more shifts and better pay because plenty of people prefer to work nights or have to be out at weird hours to get basic necessities for one reason or another and acting like necessary services keeping to almost a 9-5 operating hours and having multiple days closed ignores people sometimes do need things immediately and it's not all some lazy selfish desire and isn't inherently harmful to the employees
That’s like the best reeese’s cup ever

Why must my existence as a lesbian be political? Why must my interest in women be political? Why must fictional characters' relationships be political? Why must we as individuals be political based on something as simple our own existence? We all just want to live our lives the way anyone else would and yet we're told to keep it private and to ourselves. We are told to not hold hands or write books for our children about families like ours or people like us because our words will take away the control they want over their children. We have existed under fire and shadow for millenia, and no matter how much has changed, we are barred from having the same treatment as anyone else. No law protects us from harm and discrimination, and yet we are expected to be calm. We are expected to sit here and take it and be grateful for inequality because 'it used to be worse'. This treatment is dehumanizing, and I do not want to be treated like something taboo to be hidden. I am a lesbian. I will hold hands with my girlfriend. I will walk these streets with pride. I will write about women and I will write about loving relationships and I will write about my experience. We will not be silenced. Our existence is not inheritantly political, but you have made it so, and we will not just sit here and be silenced and erased because you refuse to listen and learn.
Well, the winds of Tumblr clearly knew where to send this!
I think society would be a lot better off if someone had given Ancient Greek philosophers weed instead of hemlock
I don’t know what else he may have done, but for this I consider him a hero worth remembering. Rest in peace, Milton Diamond.

And even if it is your native language, you’ll still have an accent! There’s so much variety in how people speak the same language, down (past Boston, London, Appalachian, Scottish, etc.) to the individual person, and that’s beautiful.
Controversial opinion of the day: It’s okay to have accents. It’s not your native language. If they make fun of you that’s messed up.
obsessed with mass market paperbacks. their pleasing rectangular proportions. how they fit badly in a hoodie pocket so you can drag them around everywhere with you like a temporary little buddy. the way they fit in your hand because they're MADE for human hands and not as bookshelf decoration. the way the pages feel when you riffle them gently with your thumb. How pristine and crisp they look when you get them and how creased and folded they look when you're done, even if you try to be nice to them. how that wear is okay, how that's correct actually, because they're made with the philosophy that books aren't meant to be PRETTY, they're meant to be read. that little ripple new ones get on the left side from where you hold them when you're reading, the way the ripple only goes as far as you've read, because u change stories by reading as they are changing you. how you can find thousands of these creased and folded and loved little dudes in every thrift store and used book shop and neighborhood library and you can instantly see the ones that someone carried around in a backpack for weeks or read to pieces or gave up on halfway through because they wear being read like fresh snow wears footprints. I love these poorly made, subpar little rectangles so much. truly the people's books.
I think I might have the spreadsheet autism. I’m supposed to be writing a paper, but I ended up procrastinating by creating a spreadsheet detailing by how much each state’s minimum wage fails to support basic costs of living.
