a thing i always find interesting about james being a poc is that it does fundamentally change his character and the way he’s presented in ways i don’t think a lot of people acknowledge.

in canon we have white james, a pretentious and somewhat spoiled pureblood who means well but is unintentionally close minded when it comes to the issues that other ppl face around him. it makes sense because james is white and a pureblood. he comes from a place of privilege so his ignorance is to be expected.

but then you make him a poc in 1970s britain and suddenly everything about him changes, his entire character is rewired. he can no longer be classified as someone completely ignorant nor someone completely privileged because james now understands what it’s like to experience prejudice and hardship. his lived experiences as a marginalised person indisputably affect/influence the way james perceives and acts around other people.

these two, while both james, are fundamentally two different characters as a result of their backgrounds and personal experiences. james as a poc cannot be the same as white james which i think is an interesting aspect of his character that should be explored more in fanon works.

Regulus Headcanon:

He knows a bunch of languages, it was something he was interested in and he actually learned them unlike Sirius. Pandora is Greek and sometimes she will ramble in Greek and Regulus matches her. Remus speaks Dutch and more often then not uses it for cursing but Regulus call him out every time. Lily learned German and gets really frustrated when Regulus knows it too. Hogwarts may have people from all over but generally Regulus can understand basically anyone it’s his biggest flex.

But he doesn’t know Hindi and of course that is the language James speaks. And Regulus doesn’t understand him. It drives him crazy. But James loves speaking Hindi to Regulus because he knows that Regulus doesn’t understand him.

Something genocide enjoyers don't get is that I will never support their genocide because it's a genocide. It's also something a lot of people who try to UwUify genocide victims don't get.

This isn't even just Palestine. Genocide enjoyers who are tankies will mention Ukrainian nazis, or genocide enjoyers who are catholic will mention Aztec human sacrifices, and these are not things I care about. They are not arguments I care about, because they presuppose there is a case where genocide is justified.

You have to look beyond the small scale case of not supporting a single genocide, and move to not supporting genocide as ever being an acceptable action.
