All this yapping about “white-feminism” sure hasn’t translated into any material effort to uplift the voices of non-western women huh. If liberals listened to non-western feminists instead of talking over them to complain about “white-feminism” we might actually get somewhere. Why does Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie realize that men cannot become women and liberals do not? Why are indian women against surrogacy but liberals think it is harmless? Why are south-asian feminists fighting for sex-segregation whenever possible and liberals are not? Why are korean women marching against pornography? Why are they destroying their make-up to fight impossible beauty standards but in the orwellian rreality of the liberal left porn is empowering and make up is self-expression? Girls in Benin city do not think sex work is work, why do liberals? What are the chances upper-middle class white westeners are right and they are wrong? Self-serving, shameful overcompensation and nothing more.
genuinely and honestly I know I cannot solve all of the problems of the world etc but my friends who live in my phone please know that when you are having the horrors I am telepathically sending you a bowl of warm soup, a mug of hot cocoa, a cozy blanket, and a hug (if you want one) with my brain
It’s okay to be bad at things. If you like drawing, but none of your art is aesthetically pleasing to anyone, keep doing it. If you like singing, but you can’t hit any of the right notes, keep doing it. If you like dancing, but you don’t have a good feel of the music, keep doing it. Don’t stop doing the things that you love just because you aren’t good at them and don’t ever let anyone shame you for it.
i have read the song of achilles, no longer human and macbeth in last 60 hours,,, and i feel unstable

who cares if your interests are basic? if it brings you joy then don’t let anyone shame you just because it’s not a “unique” interest. do what makes you happy.
okay Tumblr I need your help. Some time ago I found this picture:
I saved it into my gallery and then I’ve forgotten about it.
Until yesterday.
I was cleaning my gallery and… well doesn’t matter.
I came across this beautiful pic again.
And now I am desperate to know where it is from and what’s the story behind it. I’ve searched through the internet but found nothing. The only clues I have are that it is a statue of Perseus with the head of Medusa by Antonio Canova and that it is probably in Metropolitan Museum (maybe it’s the one in the Vatican but I am like 90% sure that it’s the one from MET)
Please can someone help me find some more information about this photo? Was it some kind of festival of lights? or is it only a copy used for a different exposition that I cannot find anything about?
It’s a stunning piece of photography with a very intimate and magical atmosphere surrounding the scene and I would be really glad if there is someone who can help me find more about it.
