toasty-tadashi and karlcat came up with this silly little hc that i just really had to draw out! (・∀・)ゞ
“HC where baby hamada gets picked up from school every day. And every day it’s someone diff from the nerd squad. Parents are confused. How many parents does this child have.
Bonus points if Tadashi purposefully dresses the Baby to match the clothes of whoever is picking them up that day so they look like a matching parent and child. A baseball hat when it’s him, a hoodie and beige shorts when it’s Hiro, bright yellow clothes when it’s Honey, sporty clothes when it’s Gogo, a sweater vest when it’s Wasabi, and a beanie when it’s Fred.
Can you imagine the confusion o m g”
drawing all of Baby’s clothes was so much fun omg (´°̥̥̥̥̥̥̥̥ω°̥̥̥̥̥̥̥̥`) also please excuse my terrible handwriting ;;
Jishi, once he finally wears MaoMao down into marrying him: I’m gonna take things real slow to not rush MaoMao and allow her to become comfortable before we take the next step in any form of intimacy.
MaoMao: I know more than you.
Hey so is anyone gonna talk about the fact that most of the paladins (bar Keith with his dimensional trip on a whale) have been gone from earth for roughly 5 years, but it’s only been less than 2 for them. Their families have been mourning them for 5 whole years, imagining them dead or, more likely, imagining missing 5 years of their lives and their children returning as adults in their early 20s. Like it’s such a throwaway line when Lance sees his family, but when he tells the youngest ones that they’ve gotten so big, they respond with “you’re exactly the same”. It’s even more noticeable with the main Garrison cadets being fully grown adults trusted with being leading pilots in experimental crafts. What a shock it must have been for the Garrison to be expecting cadets like these only more hardened with experience to come home, men and women growing up in a galactic war, only to be met with the same young faces that left all those years ago. How hard would it have been to sit and discuss war council with the legendary Voltron, while looking into a fifteen year old girls face knowing you were sending her out to possibly die. I think about it a lot. And it’s horrifying. The next question is: who is gonna write the fic where the garrison is trying to prepare for the final battle, and has to simultaneously wrap their heads around the fact that they are sending kids to fight their war? The higher ups will dismiss them despite their reputation because they see them laughing and goofing off in spare time, only to confront them with reprimands to reveal that the paladins, particularly Lance, joke to stay positive in the face of the horrors they’ve met. (And it’s obvious that these kids may be young but they have gone through more than anyone can comprehend, as Pidge offers a plan based on the horrific night of going solo against Sendak in the Castle of Lions, or Hunk absently mentioning the hallucinations they experienced prior to earth via a monstorous being and how he was going to sacrifice himself, or even Lance letting slip that he LITERALLY DIED. What can you say to these horrors?)
The best thing about Blue Exorcist is that the True Cross Academy literally lets a demon that they CLEARLY don't trust be in charge of the entire school. Just like...they don't trust Mephisto at all yet they let him take care of the next gen of exorcists???? Who the hell let this flamboyant sinner take control???
Alright this is gonna be a random weird question but here we go anyaway. The volleyball team I was on in high school had this game where we had to yell bingo, bango, or bongo every time someone touched the ball. In that order. So I saw your blog title, promptly had a war flashback, and decided to ask: DOES YOUR BLOG TITLE HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH THAT SILLY VOLLEYBALL PRACTICE GAME
Sorry for the late reply but I'm sorry to say that my title doesn't come from a volleyball game. It's actually slightly referencing Lars' "bingo bongo", but it's also just a dumb saying that mutated from several family anecdotes. So unfortunately it doesn't relate to your wild volleyball days but it's funny that my simple title brings up such specific memories.
It's okay, I didn't need my heart.
Zeref is the only one who knows Natsu’s birthday…
Do you think that every year he throws a little party? Only it’s not really a party, it’s just Zeref sitting alone in the dark, thinking about when they were a family, and then he just whispers “Happy Birthday, Natsu…” really sadly.
Riyo’s *ratatata* of a hatch being opened in ep 15, sounding so similar to “I’m in the ghetto” that it wacked me out for a couple of seconds
The monotone of David’s voice as he does an awful *scree scree* in reflection of Kenneth’s fuxking stress ball like please my boy how the fuck did u manage to keep a straight face??? While recording THAT???
The entire “my supervisor and my supervisors supervisor” bit in ep 11 that went on forever? Even better when David thinks they’ve swapped roles and doesn’t even dignify changing the titles
The burial part presiding Allegra’s backstory, wherein David sounds unsure whether it is a religious thing or maybe a kink thing when the people starting getting horny for burying themselves. And the fact he and Allegra just go “aight” and leave to go talk about tragic backstory stuff
Allegra manically shouting “just fine!!! Alright then!” When her friends melt into goo as if that isn’t a whole ass gen z mood right there
David and Allegra beginning to date and stand together against eskew after experiencing the fucked up dance recital, only for David to get REALLY into human sacrifice through sack vore at his new job almost immediately. What the fuxk David
David seeing Kenneth as a mere flesh blood with a stress ball fused into his chest: ah, my prayers were answered I get to keep my best friend
David to Allegra: don’t worry, doors and walls have power here. The dancers won’t get through. *Dancers coming through the wall* here’s Johnny! Allegra:
*several strange packages appear on his doorstep* David, quite literally: this is fine *apartment nearly gets swallowed up by freaky tenant, but at least there’s a cereal bar in a jacket pocket* David: I’m winning *apartment finally gets swallowed up* David: aight imma go feral now thanks. I’ll take my hammer and haunt y’alls asses now good day
*stuck in an immigration office and being subject to a “safety check”* Riyo, a coloured woman: ah this shit again
*eskew gifts David a child who likes to play peek a boo over cornflakes* *david snatched away the box* check mate u little fucker
The whole series really just ending with David punching out his identity crisis and then???? Becoming a ghost??? A bird??? And riyo just being like: this was fun and eskew is gonna vore the world but I on the other hand am gonna go find a new dude to get cripplingly attached to
A heterosexual clearly wrote this ending
Don't say sorry, this is brilliant!
Whenever I’m buried under my depression and anxiety, I tend to do stupid things.
^^Exhibit A^^
I don’t know whether I should say sorry to all of you.
*Watches 5 seconds of Ballroom e Youkuso* Me: I would die for ballroom dancer Hinata Shoyou and his gender bent genius partner.
After finally watching Amphibia I have so many thoughts, not on how each girl embodies the characteristic of their respective gem (mind, heart, strength), but how each has another characteristic as their secondary strength, and the third as their greatest weakness.
As related to the image above, it's pretty well established that:
> Heart = Anne
> Mind = Marcy
> Strength = Sasha
But their characters aren't so one-dimensional that they simply fit those archetypes. After all, each character has been amazingly well fleshed out and have complex issues of morality and beliefs that they cannot be shoehorned. I know this will get long so I'll put it under the cut.
For example, Anne is known as the Heart by virtue of being able to empathise with almost anyone; her connections with others are shown to be her greatest strength throughout the show. However, it is easy to see that her greatest weakness is Mind. Not just from an intellectual point of view as the show already delved into in contrast to Marcy, but also her ability for manipulation and long-plan conception of consequences or even planning. Any of her 'calculating' attempts at manipulating her way out of situations only succeed in instances where she understands the other person, like with the Plantar family, but fall wayside with strangers because she has yet to understand their heart.
However, Anne's been shown to be incredibly athletic and stubborn to a fault, indicating that Strength is her secondary characteristic in relation to the Calamity Box.
By understanding this, we can see that Sasha's frankly overpowering physical strength and perseverance is supported by her calculating Mind. Without her raw social intellect, Sasha would never be able to subjugate others like she so successfully does within the show. Unfortunately, her inability to empathise and understand the emotional consequences of her actions have also been explored, indicating her failings at Heart.
Lastly, Marcy is incredibly intellectually intelligent and quick to understand and learn from her mistakes, making her the easiest to place as her characteristic, which is Mind. She is also shown to be kind and excited to make friends, as well as capable of understanding others and their motivations, even if she is prone to being a bit short-sighted when it comes to getting caught up in her interests, which makes Heart her secondary. While it can be argued she was physically weak back on Earth, her captaincy and expertise with rogue-like abilities show she is strong in a physical since coming to Amphibia. So why would her weakest aspect be Strength?
Well, Marcy's instance of running away from home and her problems to a fantasy world shows her inability to stand strong against personal conflicts which she has no control over. She is capable of admitting her mistakes, yes, but she struggles to confront her problems in the first place, instead choosing to run from her parents and even continuing to try to drag the girls further into other worlds to avoid her looming future.
It's just amazing how much thought has been put into balancing these girls' characteristics; not just against each other, but also within themselves. I hope in the future these weaknesses will be explored and overcome in various ways!
