1. Don’t look to the world to give you an identity.
2. Don’t look to your family and friends for approval.
3. Set your own goals and believe in yourself.
4. Expect things to take time.
5. Expect to meet with setbacks.
6. Expect people to put you down, and for some to walk away.
7. Don’t be swayed by pressure from others.
8. Don’t resent others’ gifts and successes.
9. Accept that some things cannot be controlled.
10. Believe that you will make it one day.
some people were asking for a actual and i can never pass up an opportunity to procrastinate so here’s just a couple of things i always need to remind myself of…now back to my paper :(
* Fail classes * Drop classes * Go to a lower level in class * Fail midterms * Can’t do homework * Have frequent breakdowns because of school * Fail finals * Take summer school * Skip days of school * Fail semesters * Push themselves too hard * Take a gap year * Can’t pay attention in class * Need accommodations * Have low GPAs * Give up trying * Drop out of school * Don’t get accepted into college
Academic failure doesn’t mean personal failure! School isn’t everything, and you aren’t a bad person if your grades are low. It isn’t your fault, and you don’t have to feel guilty about it. Your life isn’t ruined. It’ll be okay.
please, keep writing. keep drawing. keep painting. please keep making your art no matter how many may try to push you down. the world does not have nearly enough artists.
Here's my favorite drawings of 2023, wooooo! It's so fun to see all the different seasons represented. I'm curious, which of these do you like most?
Thank you for following along with my art this year! I feel so lucky that anyone connects with my weird little drawings. Your attention and kindness is very much appreciated. ♥
Here's to more growth in 2024!

When I was training to be a battered women’s advocate, my supervisor said something that really blew my mind:
“You can always assume one thing about your clients; and that is that they are doing their best. Always assume everyone is doing their best. And if they’re having a day where their best just isn’t that great, or their best doesn’t look like your best, you have to be okay with that.”
Any now whenever anyone in my life, either a friend or a client, frustrates me, disappoints me, or pisses me off, I just tell myself They are doing their best. Their best isn’t that great today, but I have days where my best isn’t that great either.
