Jotting down my thoughts and theories on Jian Yi’s family.
Until this point, we know that Jian Yi’s father is a mafia boss, right?
The family separation from Jian Yi’s dream. For me, the father’s decision to leave is to protect his family from any potential risks. Living with a person of a mafia background is never a wise choice, for any members of the family could easily be targeted by enemies. Hence the father’s decision.
JY’s ‘kidnap’ (by Cheng & co.) from earlier was strange, but somehow it reminds me think of the newest chapter.
My point is: they were taking him to a safer place for protection, just like how it plays out in the new chapter.
At this point, Jian Yi’s identity as a mafia boss’s son has been exposed/discovered, and he is now being targeted by opposing enemies. They know Jian Yi is the boss’s weak point, and use him to their advantage. Jian Yi’s father knows how vulnerable his son is to the risks that may come, and probably orders his underlings to bring his son somewhere with further security. Hence the first kidnap.
There’s one obstacle: Jian Yi’s mom. She probably wishes her son to lead a normal life, and won’t be involved in his father’s shady business or some sort -> Jian Yi not seeing his father for years.
The promise between Jian Yi’s parents was probably 'To protect their family from any dangers of the mafia business, and not making Jian Yi involved in his father’s business’.
That’s why, when Jian Yi is taken away, his mother insists on letting him stay. Whatever danger there is out there, the father is obliged to protect his son, but not by taking him away from his mom, and ripping him from living a normal life.
Basically, both parents want to protect their son, yet cannot come to terms with their actions.
Unable to take his son away from his house (=danger), Jian Yi’s father has ordered his underlings to protect him.
He Cheng receives the direct command, but Qiu is the one who does the job.
The situation has been getting tense, as more dangers started to surround Jian Yi.
This frame hasn’t been translated yet, and we aren’t certain who is on the other side of the line. From Jian Yi’s reaction, it seems to be a call his mom, saying “Follow brother Qiu , I will find you later”.
His mom has probably realized her son’s situation, and agrees to meet Jian Yi’s father.
Eddie Kaspbrak and Richie Tozier. I have always loved their interactions since I read the book. Their relationship is amazing. Richie and Eddie were bestfriend since kindergarden, so they knew each other very well. The thing of their relationship is the fact that Richie costantly teases Eddie, since they were kids. All of you knows that Richie often called Eddie with nicknames: Eddie Spaghetti, Eds, Spaghetti Head. Richie always suspected that Eddie loved when Richie teased him. I remember that in the book he called Eddie cute and pinched his cheek. How adorable. Also in the movie we always sees that Richie and Eddie teases each other.
I always thinked that Eddie and Richie compensate each other: they are the opposite, we can say in a certain way that Richie is the strongest one and Eddie the softest one. Actually not. In my opinion Richie has always felt alone, and he tried to hide this fact with jokes. By the contrast Eddie has never be fragile, because on many occasions we can see that Eddie prove that is the bravest of the Losers Club. We know that he suffered psychological abuse. He always thinked he was different from other kids, but he was not. So many times they proved their affection towards each other, for example the simple fact that every time Eddie is in danger Richie immediatly reach for Eddie. In a kind of way Richie wanted to protect Eddie, always.
I’m happy that in It Chapter Two they gave justice to their relationship. I loved when Richie reminded to Eddie that he was bravest that he thinked. Guess what? He was. He saved Richie’s ass. I remember that the Eddie’s death was differen in book, but in this movie they also gave justice to a character like Eddie. The scene of his death literally broke my heart: he proved his courage to Richie, but much more important to himself, and then he died in the most heartbreaking way possible in front of Richie.
Since they were kids they built a beautiful friendship based on caring and love. Often in the book there are subdle references to their “love” (Eddie likes when Richie call him Eds and I remember once Richie called him my love. I was really freaking out at the time), because in the book we are not sure if Eddie and Richie are actually in love. I think when they are kids it’s difficult to say what kind of love is, but I can say that is the purest kind of love.
In It Chapter Two we see that Richie had feelings for Eddie since when he was thirteen, but he couldn’t admit to himself these kind of feelings. He was afraid. He stopped being afraid when he lost the love of his life. When they came back to Derry they replicated the pure friendship they had in their childhood, and we clearly see how Richie depends on Eddie and viceversa. In the book Eddie dies in Richie’s arms, right after brushing gently Richie’s cheek and telling him to stop calling him Eds. The cutest and the softest thing ever. We can finally said that Reddie is canon, and I’m glad of it. In my opinion their love is a platonic love. They never had to express their love, even in a physical way. Their relationship is based on caring for each other and that is what true love should be. On caring. By the way I don’t ship the actors, Finn and Jack, or Bill and James. I think these actors have a beautiful chemistry on set and frienship, but nothing more. In the end I want people appreciates James Ransone’s job. His permformance was outstanding. I’m in love with him seriously. I really think that this movie was an important opportunity for James to prove his talent.
But Bill and James are such a cuties!

When Severus was very little, at around 4 or 5, this one time his pjs were in the wash and Eileen put him to sleep wearing one of Tobias´ old flannel shirts. Severus started to prefer that shirt to his regular pjs because the shirt was big, warm and cozy, and it smelled like his dad. At that time Tobias wasn´t drinking that much and he wasn´t violent or abusive just yet, so sleeping in his shirt was soothing and comforting to little Sev, particularly when Tobias had to work late shifts and wasn´t around to kiss him goodnight.
As an adult Severus still has the faint, unconscious and vague memory of an oversized shirt as a token of his dad as he was before it all went to shit and Tobias became his worst nightmare. It makes him feel safe, but he honestly doesn´t know why, on a conscious level.
I really really love the HeroxVillain dynamic and when media explores how gay it is and the weird love/hate relationship they tend to have. SUCH AS:
- Lego batman x Joker
- the Genghis Khan music video (iconic…one of my fav things of all time…this is EXACTLY what im talking about)
- Megamind touches on these themes a bit, though not as blatantly (or should i say…gaytantly..even so..Megamind is a bi icon)
- Wander x Hater
Does anyone know of any other media that has this dynamic? Its my favourite so I want to know if there’s more!
Yup, it’s just as the bold title said, it’s about Mo’s collection of earrings, which appears in the main story or single illustrations.
Since his first appearance in the story, he’s been shown to have his ears pierced, probably to create a badass/delinquent vibe.
There’s been quite some confusion between the earrings too, so I would like to clear up things and give some anaoyzation:
1. He Tian’s earrings (gift to Mo)
One of the iconic symbols of this couple; made its first (official) appearance in the comic when Tian forced him down the bed to shove it in Mo’s earlobe (wait why does this sound so violent…). In an earlier illustration, Mo was shown with a pair similar in design (1st pic).
White around the edge, probably expensive or so, looks charming on Little Mo, etc.
On the reason why Tian gave him those: the first thing that comes to my mind is him showing his posessiveness with Mo (with that bed slam and all), somewhat like marking a terriory. They could probably be just a normal gift too though.
Mo probably sees them as too expensive and decided to keep them safe, instead of eating them outside.
Seeing Mo wrearing them in an eye candy~
2. The pair of black studs
Easily mistaken for Tian’s gift, the difference is in the design, as these ones are all black.
They haven’t made appearance during Mo’s middle school days (in main story). For the first and third picture, I will make a wild guess that it happens during the summertime between middle and high school.
He seems to only wear them while at work.
As it has yet to be disclosed whether they are Tian’s or not (and it’s still possible for him to give them to Mo in the main story), we can still hope that they are another of Tian’s gift.
3. Conch Piercing
Worn by the present time Mo on his right ear, it has only made two appearances in the special articles (Christmas and Valentines Massage). It is worn with the black studs.
Another variation of this earring is in the Black&White themed artwork, with a black ring instead.
4. Other earrings (mainly in single artworks)
just gunna stop working on this.
So yeah. As a predictable sort, I really like Erron Black from the new mortal kombat game. and i just sorta really want him to be fucked up under his mask. i’m using the excuse that the magic keeping him young uses Tarkata genetics or something and it’s slowly effecting him. i’m also using the excuse that he uses broken off tarkata blade in one of his fighting styles.
i’d imagine it’s something he tries to keep secret and ignore, but it’s probably weighing on his mind as more and more of his face is shredded by growing teeth. probably makes him take more jobs in outworld just because they ask less questions there about his face..
