gentle reminder don't focus on how your body looks, instead think about how healthy you are, how strong your body is and what it can do.
Signed up for more extra curriculars than I could handle
Not giving myself enough breaks
Sleeping late
Had increased screentime
Didn't give midterms it's dues importance
Lost my notes a couple of times so I had to rewrite them and thus, wasted time.
Thought too much about what people think
Had increased anxiety levels because i wasn't doing anything productive
Didn't study from the start
Got overconfident in the subject which was easy and ended up getting the lowest in it.
Gave too many f**ks about unimportant matters
Didn't give too many f**ks about important matters
Didn't manage my time
Got alittle too ambitious and ended up backfiring
Implemented every single piece of advice i got from teachers (didn't turn out well)
Unhealthy diet and reduced my meals
Didn't exercise.
(For both my reference and yours. I have definitely thought about how I can improve in my last and final year of highschool based on this and thought that this might help someone else too.)
I will succeed. Not immediately. But definitely.
I hate ANY toxic/mean motivation so much. "You dont want to study because youre tired? Study tired." No? You a) wont learn anything (much probably) b)will give yourself a headache and you'll be dissapointed in yourself.
Especially: if you're sick, YOU DONT NEED TO LEARN. YOURE SICK, GET A TEA AND SLEEP. It can wait.
Hate to say this but i don't really think some people can just live their life without poking into other's business and causing unnecessary turmoil so, here's a guide to avoid all types of unnecessary drama in your life.
A full communication circle.
Communication is the main cause for most fights so, here's the thing. When there is something that needs to be done, inform all necessary people about it in advance. Here's a mistake most do, they just tell one person and ask them to put forward the message to the others but tell them directly. Literally, it is the safest option for you, like no one can blame you that you didn't tell them. No one can hold it against you. So tell them directly. And from time to time get repeated reminders so they remember.
Don't involve yourself in unnecessary talks
This is serious. If you are sitting and your friends are complaining about someone, you just listen to them. Don't add on to the things and hype up them. If you know that person isn't like that, defend them subtly. Involving in gossip is the worst. When someone says something about another person or even you then just reply with "I don't really care, they are/ I am free to do whatever they/I want." Or "I don't have the energy for this." Or "It's really none of my business/concern".
If you demand respect, you need to give respect.
Be nice to everyone, I am serious about this. Even if you're not friendly with the person or you don't like them, just be nice. It won't hurt you or them. Even if they do something to hurt you, just let it go with a "Meh it's fine but i would appreciate it if you won't do it again". This may even work people up a bit, handle yourself with care. Make it seem that their presence doesn't actually threaten you.
Calm composure.
Keep yourself calm and composed whenever you're faced with a difficult situation, do not react immediately, take a breath. I usually just frown but more than that, I won't react to anything. It takes some practice but eventually, this is useful. The reason for you to maintain a calm composure is because if the person who hurt you is looking for a dramatic reaction, don't give them the satisfaction.
Better articulation
Especially if it's important instructions! When someone accuses you of something, don't immediately raise your voice, think for a moment, let them wait and then reply with what had actually happened in your point of view.
Apologize. Even if it isn't your fault.
Sometimes, people are just shitty and they won't understand even if you explain it a hundred or a million times. In those case, just say the magic two letter word -> "I'm sorry" or "I apologise". Your worth doesn't come down just because you apologised, on the other hand, you just became a better person than the other one.
It's simply not your damn business.
When someone directly tells you about their life etc etc. You lend a compassionate ear to them. If it's a story going around the whole place, it's simply not your business. And you can say this directly to the person passing the gossip, if they argue then that means you now actualy are aware of another gossip machine.
Don't EVER share your opinions on important matters with a person higher than you! Especially not in front of other people!
I'm damn serious, you don't know who will have it against you so, be careful around who you're saying things to. Other important matters include opinions about the specific person, politics, nationality, culture etc etc. Be sensitive.
Break the chain
When you hear something bad is going around and it reaches you, keep it to your damn self. Don't go adding the fuel to the fire like the rest!
Do not assume!
Don't assume about a situation or a person. Clarify. Always clarify. You may not know what the other person was going through, you don't know everything. Just don't think something, clarify it. No body is going to get mad at you for clarifying.
Make excuses.
When you hear someone talking bad about someone else. Defend them. Make excuses. I don't mean lie to them, I mean saying things like, "It's alright. You don't know what they were going through." Or "Maybe something happened that you don't know about." Personally, I always use the second one because I feel like, sometimes, people aren't bad guys. Situations make them act like that. Povs differ. So be mindful.
Don't raise your voice. Improve your argument.
If there is an argument. Do the classic Harvey Specter thing. You improve arguments with a neutral tone. Don't sound mocking or cocky, sound like you're just explaining to them. This won't escalate the scenario. (The quote was actually given by Desmond Tutu)
Hope this helps! :)

Hey! :)
Thanks <3 Right back to you!
You're not always going to be motivated. So you must learn to be disciplined.
Success is 1% plan. 99% action. Don't. Forget. That.
When you're studying, it is advisable to take a break. I don't mean breaks which last around 5-15 mins. I mean breaks that last for 20 seconds.
Why 20 seconds?
Recently, i have discovered that when you're studying for long hours or even short, our brains are exhausted by the time we complete even a single chapter. It has too much of information to actually process it so i always use this method.
When you complete a topic, small or big. Just close your eyes for 20-30 seconds and lean back on your chair and calm your breathing. Process the information. Let everything sink in. Take out the tension. DO NOT TAKE YOUR PHONE. And then after those 20-30 seconds, just glance through the topic before moving to the next one.
How does this help?
Boosts attention.
Allows you to calm down from overwhelming emotions
Helps you process better.
You're likely to remember it more.
Helps you to study for longer hours.
Hope it helps! :)
1. Remember you are not your notes or grades, It doesn't define you.
2. You can always do better the next time, learn from your mistakes and get better from your failure
3.You are allowed to feel bad but don't let get into your head and ruin your day. Do things to clear your head (watch a movie, write, hang out with friends, anything that makes you feel good)
4. Rest!! take time for yourself
5. Implement a new method for studying, Spent more time practicing or reading about the subjects.
6.Learn how to deal with frustration,( and Im sorry to tell you this but to have a resistance to failure you have to fail ,and learn from that.)
7. Don't compare yourself to other people.
And remember its not a big deal, a note or grade its not who you are, It doesnt matter if you fail because you can always try again and if someone makes you feel bad about failing, don't listen to them! I spent too much time feeling bad about failing a test so, I wanted to give advice that has helped me overcome that feeling!
Love ya!
-Ben
Reminder!
Your worth is NOT defined by:
Grades
Appearance
Weight
Height
Nationality
Gender
Race
Religion
Work
Degree
Illness
Disability (mental/physical)
Income
Your worth is not defined by anything. You are definitely worth it. You are enough. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
Heyy so I need to give a speech for my English class but I can’t come up with any topics do you have any suggestions? (The topic has to be about a problem and interesting to my classmates) 🩷
Hello! :)
I hope this helps! <3
Education:
How education can solve generational poverty?
How the current education system is not flexible enough for people with disability (physical and mental) including LDs and mental illnesses?
Why the current education system is not suitable for the modern day youth?
Even though the literacy rate has gone up in the last 30 years, lack of jobs and unemployment are still high and situations like under employment is on the rise.
Health:
The rise in obesity and it's connection with lifestyle diseases.
The interrelationship better physical and mental health and how it is affecting work/study areas in our lives.
Sleep deprivation among students/employees gone up affecting their health and overall development.
Environment:
Overfishing
Ozone layer depletion
Deforestation
Technology:
How modern technology is affecting unemployment negatively.
A pandemic of adversity due to social media
Cyberbullying/cyber stalking/harassment
Social:
Migration (rural to urban -> urban congestion)
Gender inequality
Feminism
Overpopulation
Miscellaneous:
Beauty pageants objectifying women
Addictions (video game/ social media/ alcohol etc)
Traffic jams
Choosing the right career path for the modern job market
These are all i could think of. Hope you do well on your speech! :)
Language learning is so damn attractive. Like, who wouldn't look good when they spend hours understanding a language's illogical grammar and twisted vocabulary and have mental break downs because of it?
Dreams don't work until you do.
I hate group projects, it's not necessarily the project rather, the people are not cooperative enough so here's some tips I use when I was chosen to do a PPT and a damn play with 13 members.
(Pictures aren't mine!)
Take phone numbers
Even though my teacher discouraged the idea of it, I still took the numbers of all the members and saved it on the same day the project was given even though the deadline was a month later. You should make sure that you have the necessary means of communication to every member.
Plan and outline within 3 days!
Make an outline of what needs to be done, plan out who's going to do what, how they'll do it, when will they complete it etc etc. The reason i do it within 3 days is because you'll get the base of how you'll do it because generally in group projects, by the time everyone completes the work and gives it to you, it would take atleast a week or two, if you start early, you'll complete earlier than everyone else
No group chats!
I personally don't prefer this because one i realised everyone just didn't reply expecting others to reply, especially when your group is big! So... Dms!! Just send the instructions personally, yes, it takes alot of time but it makes up for the energy wasted in group chats that involve unnecessary talks and questions.
Both face to face and text reminders!
When you've assigned work to every member, make sure they actually do it because you'll be the one responsible. Not gonna lie but reminders help especially when the deadlines are closer. Just a message like "Hey, friendly reminder about the XYZ project."
Save your own name!
This is something I'm really careful about. The accusation that you're being biased and assigning easier work to friends and people I'm close with. So, i figured that the best way to avoid it is to write all the work and the names of members in alphabetical order and assign accordingly. If the member can't do it, then I'll discuss and swap. It saves a hell lot of drama and actually results to better outcomes.
Back up
Make sure that there's always a second in command. This was a mistake I did, on the day of the 2nd project (the play), I was in one of the competitions and our teacher had started with our group first... I didn't exactly tell anyone that everything about the characters assigned to members and the narrations were in my bag so they had to scramble alittle but in the end, our group did the best play despite the situation so that's what you're aiming at. Your group needs to manage without you.
Flexibility
Do not, under any circumstances, expect everything to go well! You need to expect hindrances, like gurl, come on. A mistake I made in the PPT project, i made the PPT and told 4-5 people to explain it because that's how it was supposed to be done but in the end, ALL THE 4-5 PEOPLE HAD TO BE IN SPORTS PRACTICE so we ended up changing plans last minute. But nevertheless, we got an A-. Tell everyone to prepare accordingly.
Be a little lenient
Personally, when the teacher asked me to give the list of work everyone had done, i did'nt just write nothing for the members who didn't, i have even the smallest contribution because in the end, even one person's scores matters. It affects the whole damn group so be careful when you take out anger and frustration on the members when giving the list of contributions or even while doing the project. The last thing you need is drama.
Contact!
Make sure your members are comfortable enough to clear any questions or misunderstandings with you. If you don't know what's going in the group, you can't maintain the group. Be very clear that they can reach you any time.
Demo!!!
This is really important! Decide on a day and keep a demonstration of how your project is going to be presented. Do exactly as how you're going to do it infront of the teacher. Exchange some points on how to do better during the demo and discuss! It helps you to correct your mistakes.
Hope this helps! :)
If nobody hates you, you're doing something wrong
Reminder
People who tell you to respect their boundaries and they don't respect yours are toxic.
People who constantly remind you about their favours are toxic
People who take up for someone but won't take up for you even if the situation is same are toxic
People who want respect but don't give respect are toxic
People who are nice can be toxic
People who expect you to cross oceans for them but they won't cross a puddle for you are toxic
People from your own family can be toxic
People from your friend group can be toxic
People who frustrate you purposely to irritate you are toxic
People who stress you out just for fun are toxic
People who blame you for expressing emotions are toxic
People who misuse your kindness are toxic.
People who call you "dramatic" and dismiss your emotions are toxic
People who take more than they give are toxic
People who don't want to adjust with you but expect you to are toxic
People who violate your peace of mind continuously are toxic
People who make you apologize for something that isn't your fault are toxic
People who make you seem like the bad guy are toxic.
People who never apologize for their faults are toxic
People who never acknowledge that they're wrong are toxic
People can be toxic. People can be toxic even if they're your family, friends, collogues, classmates, spouses. Remember. That.
It is better to be aware than to be ignorant. Don't let anyone treat you badly. You deserve all the respect you get.
You're getting distracted again. You've got dreams to chase. Not people to impress. Wake up.
