25) no players from my team play for England, but Freddie woodman is on the under 21s. A lot of them play for their own national teams though. Paul dummett plays for wales.

26) I’m going to go with the most recent one I can think of and it’s definitely schär’s messi-esque run during the Cardiff game. that’s probably not my all time favourite, but my most recent favourite

27) favourite match would be vs Arsenal when we were 4-0 down in the 26th (I think) minute and ended up drawing. Tiote with that 35 yard volley my god.

28) far too many bad Newcastle matches for me to pick I’m sorry

29) don’t really win many trophies nowadays (though we have like the ninth highest of all trophies by English clubs I think). Think I’ll just go with winning the championship because of the sole fact that everyone said we’d not win because most teams do badly when they get relegated. I don’t even know. Just felt good to win something. Obviously would’ve preferred not getting relegated. I’m not old enough to have experienced many of the others

so you see it on Twitter, it being on your timeline and you’re scared he’s hurt, scared he’s not going to be alright so you do what any girlfriend would do and call him. And it rings out and you think of how he needs to learn to control his temper because you always told him it would get him in to trouble. And you ring again and think about how it looked violent. And you ring again and think about how he could be hurt. And you ring again and think about how he could’ve gotten arrested. What if he gets kicked off the starting team? Or out of Everton? Or the England squad? And you know you’re overthinking it but could it’s so hard not t- ‘yeah, I’m here’. And you’re so happy he’s answered because at least this means he’s okay. You think. And you’re unsure of which of your worries to express first so you ask if he’s okay and he barely answers, haggered breathing down the line and you know he’s angry and you know you have to calm him down. And he’s suddenly shouting about how they insulted you, called you fat and ugly and worse words and your heart flutters a bit that he’d protect you but my god was he stupid. And you’re shushing him down the phone, whispering about how much you love him and how stupid they were. you know now isn’t the time to scold him for what he did - you’ll do that later - but it is the time for love and understanding and you just want him to be okay and he is when he hears your voice softly telling him to calm down and you love him and now he just can’t wait to get home. So after many assurances that he’s okay he promises to come home ‘provided there’s a brew waiting of course’ and you laugh at him as he hangs up, going to make that tea.

After thinking on it for a day I don’t blame Rafa for wanting to leave but I’m still simultaneously in denial and also fucking distraught.

So as we all know well, he’s a happy, carefree mess when he’s drunk and obviously he’s wanting you to join him in everything he does so he’s pulling you up with him to dance and you’re giggling and embarrassed but oh so in love that you don’t even care and you’re letting him dance around you whilst everyone films it, and you’re letting him wrap his arms around your waist constantly, and you’re letting him leave sloppy kisses on your cheek, and you’re letting him whisper nonsense in your ear because how could you not with that goofy grin he has.

and it’s hard because it’s for his career so how could you not let him go but you can’t have a relationship over different countries - it wouldn’t work and you both know that. So you’re letting him go, with a kiss and a breathy, ‘I know you’ll do so well’ and both your visions are blurring because it’s not fair. It’s not fair that you have to stay there for work and he has to go to Paris for work. And you’re leaving him on his door step with a whispered ‘We’ll stay in touch’ and an almost silent confession that you’re not sure he hears. And he’s watching you get in your car and drive off, the wind still whispering your last words; ‘I’ll always love you’.
