The year and a half of junior high school are shown here in this comic that will go into detail Shimi’s backstory, just before entering UA High. Mira Monomaneki (not related to Neito Monoma), is a key character in this arc.

I figured before jumping into U.A. and how Shimi and Tetsu met and all that nice juicyness, I should outline the backgrounds of the individuals! First is Shimi!

// HAPPY REALLY LATE BIRTHDAY TETSUTETSU (and Kirishima)! Ive been busy and couldnt figure out what to draw so i just drew a bunch of young ones.

With Overhaul arc upon us in the anime. i say its high time,for me to reintroduce my very first Verse I ever made for Shimi and the first one ive ever deeply explored for Shitetsu, the issue issss theres no,definite end for that verse... Meaning, the verse basically exists as an everlasting pain and angst route right now, with no definitive ending, which quite frankly, aint very plus ultra of me

Like just an au of consistent denial and emotional turmoil,is fun but only,for so long, so, i will ramble out here with some stuff

So if I keep traitor verse as I have it currently, Shimi is manipulated into becoming a yakuza lackey and over the course of a few months breaks into a personality fed on obtaining power, that which she calls "blighted" and in a way sections off, Shimi from Blighted acting as if she were two different people, but instead of my tree branch route of an ending,

Shimi gets found and 'rescued' from the Yakuza and is kept at UA as a hope to rehabilitate her, which comes with more angst yes, but also, that power she got helps her boost her way into the hero course while attending therapy to help break her from the mindset of being two people.

Tetsu would be mostly unaware of the circumstances but noticeably worried his (girl)friend is missing from,school and isnt be let out to investigate where she is, adding into his fear of failing those he cares for, and when she comes back like... Well, a villain, he gets really pensive and kinda angry that shes like that because she wasnt months before, why is she so????? Cruel and violent now???

And he probably tries to make her talk to him a lot,,sometimes with some luck and other times he takes a fist to the face, and overall hes really torn up about it because thats NOT the Shimi he knew but that is still SHIMI, and hes so mad he cant just go out and fight those people who changed her in such a way, but he knows its for the best he cant do that, and it messes him up so much, but hes trying and he tells it to Shimi,sometimes and occasionally she enables him to like take it out on her since she too was at the time of being with them enjoyed being a villain, even if for a short time

I wanna give it a better end where ultimately Shimi does become a hero just, not one whos allowed to do villain apprehension, and the trauma inflicted upon her by the yakuza can be undone to a healthier state, but also, i want to share some of my really bAD ENDINGS BECAUSE THEYRE SO WilD,

Like Shimis villain verse is actually an offshoot from this AU, where once the Yakuza falls, she wanders around and then gets picked up by the League of Villains.

And Tetsu's villain arc which too could be sprouted from this traitor verse where he does actually go and beat the Yakuza up, but because of just how vigilante it is, (and also because he probably beat them an,inch of their lives) thinks he cant ever be a hero anymore or do good, so he just, "i guess its villain time"

Theres just. Alot I can do with it. And its cool?????? I think??? Its a long ramble,I'm,so sorru

// It has been brought to my attention that Tetsu might have ADHD. After scouring some DSM-V resources I can find, I can say, he absolutely has ADHD that is predominantly hyperactive and impulsive. It’s not too intrusive but it makes its appearances noticeably enough to be diagnosed and such.

// So I was going to make a headcanon post about Shimi and Tetsu’s specific types of overstimulation and how it like, gets worse and stuff (i.e. Once Shimi’s is set off being around too many people makes her feel like everyone’s eyes are only on her and sets her off really bad), but then I was thinking about it for Tetsu specifically. 

Like, he doesn’t have any particularly deep-seated trauma that causes him to be adverse to his specific type of stimulation that in large quantities is bad, it just is, and then I wondered like, logically, how DID he get like that?

For reference, Tetsu has a particular stray from touch? Mostly unwarranted or touches he doesn’t seem coming? But that’s like???? There’s no conditioning to make it so???????? I have the idea, but no backstory from whence it logically came from, it just exists now

I.. I get to have two of them..? There’s two Kirishimas?

I guess crusty rot villain got some upgrades or whatever but we all know what was the most important new info in the latest chapter.

I live to just draw out Shimis Hero Costume! Here is a rundown of the gear she has!

Gauntlets with Interchangeable Parts!

The right hand is always a shield, but the left is able to switch between a slingshot and a grappling hook, stored within the pouches on her waist!

Cut Resistant Fabric! 

It’s always helpful when your quirk doesnt protect you against bladed nasties, and it covers a decent amount of her skin to she cant get cut up too easily!

Leg Guards!

Before these were just simple hiking boots, but it was determined she needed something a little better! Leg Guards that go up to her knees are perfect for taking care of extra debris in rescue operations and provide that little extra defensive measures for villain apprehension!

Safety Cloth (safety contrast as my friend loves to call it)

A bright cloth to help her stand out amongst rubble at a rescue site! She can also use it for makeshift first aid or to tag people she can’t rescue at the time! 

Fingerless Gloves

The fingerless gloves let Shimi get a true feel for the area around her and what she is working with as well as allowing extremely fine motor control! 

- its also for her secondary quirk, tiger form, in the case she transforms herself some claws, dont want to rip up her nails or the good gloves

Mask

It's basic and functionally doesn’t work the best, but for small bits of debris, it helps to keep those out.

// Explanation of what’s going on below the cut! 

// This takes place during the Forest Training Arc, the Summer Camp! For some extra context, Shimi and Tetsutetsu have known each other for a month or two now. Following the Sports Festival, they met properly (it was answered before, but it was when Shimi and Tetsutetsu both wanted to buy the last copy of a game) and due to the circumstances became gaming buddies.  Over that time, the two have grown closer over a shared love of video games until something akin to best friends and Shimi also got to meet a few of the students in 1-B!

Come time to the Summer Camp, Shimi knows they’re all going off somewhere for some kind of Hero Course-related thing. So, when she hears about the incident in the forest in the few days after, she understandably, freaks!

there is also things to be said about these people being her first real friends since basically elementary school

So like any emotionally stunted 16-year old when they hear their friends may or may not have been hospitalized, Shimi bolts out from her house, full of concern and basically bumbles around the area in an attempt to find the hospital they are all in, to like properly wish them good recovery and also figure out if she needs to mourn a death.

Omg my quirksona has a similar quirk!! Has a shadow friend that shapeshifts depending on emotions. The more positive/calm the smaller and more friendly-based shadow and the more negative the bigger and scarier!! I wonder if they would be pals :0

This is Dame Nonoshiru, and her biological child Shimi Shinozuku!

Shimi does not live with Dame, because Dame had left her up for adoption immediately after birth (and also for story reasons that would lead Shimi to villany if she had been kept around).

Dame is a civilian/pseudo-villain. She has a low-end job, a kind of small crappy apartment and spends all her money on cigarettes and alcohol for the most part. 

Her life isn’t the part that makes her dangerous though! Because of how her quirk functions, being that in order for it be strong, she has to hate herself. As such she has a very basic, self-survival mindset. Nothing more than a few pleasure for the self but only to add more fuel to the fire of self-hatred. See, Dame is fully aware that what she does is “bad” and thus fuels the everlasting, “I’m a horrible person fire” she has kept lit for so long. 

Her mindset is very “everything that I do has to have a benefit for me”, which is a good part of why she had left Shimi out for adoption. The child of an accidental pregnancy, Shimi was just more weight for Dame and too much of a money drain and so the child was left to be picked up by someone else.

While the idea of having a child has no weight on Dame, she does see it as a weight to throw around if it were needed to be used. 

But the rest of her role in Shimi’s story will remain a secret for now!

TIME FOR LORE!!!!!! (some)

This is Shimi’s biological mother, Dame Nonoshiru. Her quirk revolves around the idea of self-hatred, and the more she hates herself, the more powerful her “shadows” become. Thus it is aptly named Depression.

// Hey you guys wanna hear my hottest take on the Class A and B rivalry? It's unhealthy as fuck! It harbors mega resentment between both of the students, even if they seem in the manga canon to be a-okay about it after but theres so many reprocussions just in the joint training alone!

Don't be wrong I was happy we got any content for B Class at all but like, theres just so much better they can be! Like, idk, it just feels like it paints B Class as a whole are super super antagonistic about everything.

Now, the hot take! The classes should have been mixed and when teams were pulled, it should've been with a mix of B and A class students per team! At least 2 and 2 of each, and it'd be a better hero lesson too as it fosters the idea that as Pros they will have to work with other pros they may know very little about!!

Anyways thats my tea! Tell me what yall wanna hear about from this blog, other than.. Like more B class meta. Maybe... Shimi related things?

Tetsutetsu + Ambidextrousness

From the manga and anime, he’s seen using his right hand more, giving the impression of being right-handed, but there are some scenes where he clearly uses his left where he could be using his right. 

He would be ambidextrous but favors his right side, maybe what he grew up knowing before training himself into using the left side as well! It would make sense, after all, being able to throw punches just as powerful with either hand would be a great skill to have! 

Shimi, have you heard of the trolley paradox? What would you do in such a situation? (Sorry if this has sent more than once tumblr is glitching)
