Okay, so everyone knows that the elemental dragons haven’t been used for a while (Season 8 was when they stopped if I remember correctly). The usual explanation is just that the writers forgot or thought they made the ninja too powerful. But! What if the ninja can’t use them? The dragons are all about facing your insecurities and problems then accepting them, but they’ve all been earning enough trauma over the years that they aren’t able to do that anymore. It’s all been piling up until the dragons began to refuse their call.
so I got into grad school today with my shitty 2.8 gpa and the moral of the story is reblog those good luck posts for the love of god
BEHOLD the fic that caused @morroswaterbucket to spew water from their eyes like Poseidon's gift to the Athenians
Cole: "i have the height advantage."

My lil pencil got to lil so I innovated
I will have him to the end of time
He is the one true god
Ninjago au where the serpentine still see lloyd as an annoying little brat but also recognize he’s still just a kid and that given the chance Pythor would absolutely eat him alive so the rest of the season is the ninja and the snake generals trying to protect Lloyd from Pythor and shenanigans ensue
Also the serpentine and the ninja refuse to communicate so they both think that the other is out to hurt lloyd/put him back into Darkley’s boarding school.
Kai: "have you ever been handcuffed?"
Lloyd: "by law enforcement or sexually?"
[shocked Kai Expression™]
Lloyd:
Lloyd: "it's an honest question"
Kai: "by law enforcement you freak"
Lloyd: "obviously yeah"
Kai: "have you,, been handcuffed-"
Lloyd: "don't worry about it"
Learning how to be a warrior was typically a fairly important part of an Ancient Greek prince’s education. That would likely be the case in Ithaca too as we can see with Odysseus even as a boy. No untrained child would have been able to defeat Athena’s boar so he clearly was taught to fight. So why was Telemachus not given the same? There’s perfectly able guards so it wouldn’t be from a lack of people to teach him.
Then I started thinking about how much more threatened by his presence the suitors would be if Telemachus could hold his own in combat. His mere existence is already a claim to the throne but they see him as unfit and too soft for the crown. They might not have waited so long to try to get rid of him if that perception didn’t hold. So Penelope might have intentionally withheld that part of his studies to make him seem less dangerous to the suitors.
No one would have thought twice about pushing around someone they knew could take it no matter their age, but the way that Telemachus says that they’re “getting” dangerous in ‘Legendary’ implies that it’s a new development. Sure, they could just be tired of waiting (which certainly still plays a part) but fighting an untrained twenty year old sounds much better than fighting an untrained fourteen year old.
Lloyd: I need a hug.
Morro: Of course you need hugs, you repulsive affectionate pulp.
Lloyd: I'm the Green Ninja.
Morro: Shut up shut uP SHUT UP.
Lloyd: MMMMMMMMM green.
Morro: I WILL END YOU.
Lloyd: I AM THE CHOSEN ONE.
So.. is there like a canon reason why he’s still obsessed with being the green ninja after all these years? I’ve always just assumed that it’s because he died and is now forever stuck in the mindset he had when it happened with no chance of ever growing and becoming more than he had been. But let me know if there’s an actual reason that’s been stated either in the show or by the creators.
