Remus: "chocolate and...ummm sirius I guess...but don't tell him he'll get a big head. Books, David Bowie and... hogwarts. It was the first place I ever felt consistently happy."

Peter: "I love chess, I'm really good at it. I love my friends too, all of them. I've known James and Marlene and Barty as long as I can remember but I love Lily and Remus and the rest of them just as much. Sirius too I suppose. Oooo Christmas and slumber partys with the girls. And quidditch, I don't play but I'm always happy when I watch."

Sirius: "Music. Bowie and Queen and all the greats yk. And my motorbike. The Potters always make me happy. They've done so much for me. Regulus makes me happy too. He was the only thing at one point. And Remus too obviously. He's my everything."

James: "Regulus makes me so happy. Everything about him. His hair and his eyes, their so pretty. Their grey and blue and silver and there's a little green too...........*rambles about regulus for ages* so that's one. My family, my mum, dad and my brother, Sirius. OH! And my friends. Remus, Peter, Lily, Marlene, Dorcas, Mary and the rest of them. Quidditch makes me happy too. Especially when I'm playing with my friends and Regulus or Sirius. And for my final one, making other people laugh so...pranks."

Guys, you know the whole “James’ type is people who are mean to him” thing?

I think it’s because they make him feel like a real person.

I am forever pushing the “James struggles with feeling like a real person agenda” and I think that initially Lily/Regulus genuinely didn’t like him as a person and that is what made him initially attracted to them. James is one of those “everyone loves him, he’s a literal ball of sunshine” people. But James is nothing if not a people pleaser so he’s always trying to be someone that people like and sometimes he’s not sure that the person he is, is real or just an act.

But they don’t like the person that he shows everyone (because they can subconsciously feel that something is off with James). And no one (excluding Snape and people he doesn’t like because he’s not performing for them) has ever told James that they don’t like him.

So he tries to win both of them over but it doesn’t work because he’s trying to win them over with this not-real-person side of himself and he only wins them over once they see the real James. So by not liking this fake person and seeing through his mask they’re inadvertently helping him learn how to be himself and not be putting on a show all the time.

Jegulus headcanons cause I'm bored and why not

Regulus fell first and rather than telling James he loved him, he gave him his favourite ring. James has never taken it off.

James thinks he always has to be the perfect, cheery friend and take care of his friends. But sometimes it gets difficult. Regulus is the only person who has seen his panick attacks about not being good enough.

James and Regulus' special place is the astronomy tower. It's actually where their relationship started. James saw regulus up there alone on the map a few times and went to join him to keep him company. Regulus ignores him the first few times but slowly comes round and starts talking to him.

Regulus wears a necklace of two antlers with james' initials, hidden under his turtlenecks and shirts because it makes him feel safe.

James reads all of regulus' favourite books at the beginning of the astronomy tower just so they have something to talk about. Regulus finds James copies of the book and sees he has annotated them and almost faints.

Why is Someone You Loved by Lewis Capaldi so Regulus after James left regulus cause he got the dark mark coded. Like...

Cause James used to save him!! From himself!!!

Loving James pushed down the self hatred and James made him happy so it wasn't as painful

Cause he left so Regulus has to go thru the abuse and Voldemort himself

He began to truly trust and love James on for his heart to be broken

He doesn't have anyone left cause his only friends that he didn't betray are also death eaters

Escape his family and the expectations

James is one of the only few people he has ever felt comfortable with. James is a comfort for him that can calm him down and remind him he's worthy of love.

"I was getting kinda used to being someone you loved"

He finally allowed himself to accept James's love and begin to reciprocate it then it was taken from him.
