More white VAs need POC side and background characters. I understand why they don't want to make POC characters that they personally voice, but all their character line ups for one series always look so boring just being white, white, white. It's okay to add color to your side characters, it's okay to collab with a VA who's a POC for your POC character!

I still really don't get the refusal to have characters of color in ones lineup. It will never not look weird to me. Especially given that there ARE VAs with multi-racial casts (Mr. Laveau is a great example).

I feel like not wanting to be "offensive" is more of an excuse than anything else. Especially since the majority of the audios I've listened to, both narrative and one off, very rarely actually contain content that could be considered highly insensitive if the race of the character changed. Especially in fantasy worlds where the idea of race takes on new contexts.

It always reads to me like a creator (audio rp or otherwise) either is incapable of seeing POC as actual people, or has a weird inability to separate POC from our struggles. And while it IS important that we don't play into the idea of "not seeing color", and disregarding what is often very difficult and painful histories for many of us...

... Y'all do know we like, like, people shit, right? We have normal jobs, we eat food, probably go to the movies and on dates. Can and do exist in fantasy worlds. Like, I'm not saying don't do some research, like don't make a black character a monkey or a Jewish character a rat or some bs, lmao. But like, what exactly is stopping any of you, on some real shit 🤨.

Idk, it's just a weird look to me. Also, obviously, this is about creators who have characters depicted in some form of art.

I’m sorry but every time I try to listen to his audio I just see that selfie he posted a while back and now every character he does, all I see them as is someone in there 50s and I just can’t 😭😭

People who throw tantrums over morally grey (or morally bad) audio rp characters, audios with dark or uncomfortable themes, or audios with tragic endings need to grow tf up. Audio roleplays don't have any obligation to always be comfy and cozy and make you feel warm and fuzzy. They can be dark, they can be tragic, they can be scary. People who get upset at VAs for performing more emotionally challenging material can stfu. How boring would it be if every single audio was just "Perfect love interest with no flaws falls in love with perfect listener with no flaws, they face no conflicts and don't suffer any challenges. Then they kiss. The end."

This is beyond a lack of media literacy, this is a complete lack of understanding of media in general. There is more than one genre out there in literally every other medium of fiction, there is more than one character archetype out there. Most importantly, none of is real. Just because you're roleplaying in the first person, that doesn't mean you're actually literally living it. It's FICTION. That's not your real boyfriend, this isn't your actual life, and the listener is a character that you roleplay as, not your real-life self. Please, back up and let VAs exercise their right (yes their RIGHT) to free creative expression.

The fact that some VAs have abandoned (or even completely deleted) certain characters and playlists just because brats with zero media literacy make it such a headache to attempt anything challenging should be enough of a sign that it's time for us to grow tf up.

So like this is what was going on with the holocaust, right? A large amount of people leaving the country for safety? a discriminatory leader? protection of business in support of the discriminatory leader and punishment of ones that don't? Large amounts of minorities being discriminated against? Using places made to punish people who've actually done things wrong to put innocent people in? That's what happened, right?

Because what I'm seeing now is queer people running for their lives, a discriminatory leader, protection of large companies like United healthcare, people discriminating against trans individuals and immigrants, and ICE imprisoning legal immigrants.
