My interpretation of Feliciano

Feliciano is a skilled fighter, and was once the greatest military power and strongest force in Europe. He used to be brave and was able to defeat Turkey and Roderich/Elizabeta, stand up to others and defeat them.  Elizabeta taught him how to fight, and while he was pacifist he knew how to beat other people up and refuse them, Roderich had to tie him up so he wouldn't get into brawls. Feliciano as a child was chivalrous, skillful and witty, he was a force to be reckoned with. But after his grandfather and first love died because of war and violence, he gained a fear of abandonment and conflict. He no longer has the impulse or motivation to fight, he would rather surrender so that no one would get hurt. He was thrust into the life of war and violence as a child, he did not have the luxury of growing up to be an adult like Alfred before doing so. He is also not dumb, and is actually very academically intelligent. He is tied with Ludwig as the top students of the EU. He is just clueless when it comes to reading the atmosphere and other people. He is not weak, he is actually quite powerful. It's just that he does not want to fight, and no matter what you do or say to him he won't be able to get that mojo back, his fighting skills are buried now. Feliciano, while being unaware of most things socially, knows when he is being flirted with. To avoid hurting Gilbert's feelings he plays the fool and purposely ignores him when he is trying to ask him out on a date. He's also very skilled with machines and is usually the one Lovino depends on when he needs something of his to be fixed. Feliciano is also quite responsible surprisingly, and doesn't always rely on Ludwig. Sometimes Ludwig relies on him. Ludwig does take him seriously sometimes, and considers his ideas to be good at times. Feliciano often helps Ludwig relax by helping with chores, giving him coffee and breakfast in the morning, etc. If Ludwig is unable to fix a machine himself, he will call Feliciano for help: after all, Feliciano is the secret top student of the EU (This top student thing is canon btw it says so in a strip, it's just that he's pulled down by others)

My interpretation of FrUk and also the reason why I love it

They grew up as rivals, and I head canon Francis as his only friend when they were kids but he he couldn't help but bicker with him, sometimes worrying that he was too harsh and pushed Francis away but he was wrong because Francis was always there every time. There's a sense of familiarity between them, causing them to gravitate towards each other no matter what relationship status they have (enemies, rivals, friends, etc.). It's like fate doesn't want these two to be apart, they are inseparable whether they like it or not. The other's presence is a constant in their life since they grew up together, their histories are so intertwined they might as well just merge their countries together. They're constantly paired and/or grouped together, they always spend the holidays together, they sit together and they are always with each other. There are times where they constantly hope to avoid the other but it always fails because they are always there, always.

I personally head canon Francis to have been the only person who bothered to at least try to communicate and be nice to him. He teased him but didn't outright bully him (shown as when he cut Arthur's hair for him, when he bought a tunic for him, etc.) thus being the only friend Arthur had, and still has to this day. Arthur is friendless other than Vlad (Romania) and Lukas.

Little headcanon I have of Francis (some may not make sense)

Francis' mother very graceful and elegant woman. She was a very involving parent and took care of Francis, she was a great mom. However she had always mistook Francis for a girl, and still believes so until this day because when she died Francis was still a child and hadn't hit puberty yet. She dressed him up as a girl, taught him how to act feminine, and of course Francis was never taught otherwise so he believed it was normal. Francis' femininity never left him, and he still likes to be girly to this day (wearing dresses, bows, flowers, ribbons, etc.) Arthur still hasn't told him it's not normal. Francis was very much lady-like as a child, having the looks, voice and personality of a female. He was often mistaken for one, leading Francis to believe he was a woman himself. Eventually Arthur told him women don't have penises, and that he was a guy, not a girl. Francis didn't believe him until he hit puberty. Francis was unbelievably feminine that Arthur had trouble deciding whether or not he was actually a guy.

As a Kuraneon shipper and a shipper of non-canon ships, I am totally at peace that they have a low to zero possibility of being canon. Shipping is just a fun activity for me and to create content, have that creative relaxation for shits and giggles.

The exception for this is CoAi from Detective Conan. It was my first ship, shipping that pairing is so painful because you can really see their chemistry and all the things they had gone through together in canon. But because the writer prefers childhood love stories (it seems), it can never be canon. And this year, there's a lot of CoAi content, especially this year's 2023 movie and even that Uniqlo shirt. We all know it's just money but ahhhh seeing this beautiful ship have its spotlight again. This is that one pairing I really wished for it to be canon. Like, it could have been one of the best couples in shonen manga. A story about two people going through the same adversity, solving crimes together, and getting to know each other. I still remember how they progressed from the episode they had first met. Conan grew to trust her and saw a softer side of her, and Ai slowly tried to live her life again. They had a lot of moments together that was really romantic.

(In my opinion only), this pairing is much more interesting than the one we got. Yes, Ran is a very nice and sweet girl, I really like her as a person. But I think Gosho's mistake is having Ai (who is vital in the BO plot), take the secondary role and one-sided love. It would make more sense if the main love interest had a vital role in the plot, but instead, we got the opposite for this series.

Another factor is that since there are so many childhood love stories in the series, it makes the main pairing less unique because it's like a copy-paste of many other pairings in the series. Lastly, Ai is more interesting and layered character-wise, even more than Shinichi I believe. We see her grow in the series and her background story is really sad, yet she tries to overcome that. She has flaws that are directly related to her childhood, unlike Ran who seems to lack any flaws. Sometimes it's better to have a flawed character than someone perfect. It encourages character growth and this is why I always find myself being drawn to her, and wanting the best ending for her.

This is just my opinion only. It's okay if others don't share the same perspective, but these are just my thoughts.
