Went glowworm hunting with @sloppydemon and this is what we saw!
how do you make your ganbreeder gifs??
It’s a somewhat tedious process and i probably wouldn’t have had the energy if they hadn’t included the option of entering a ganbreeder URL in the crossbreed-feature. But they did! So i pick two or more ganbreeds and crossbreed them. Crossbreeding produces 6 results that are basically a transition from one ganbreed to another, even if they are arranged in reverse, in my opinion. Sometimes some results will stick out, as in much brighter or differently colored, i usually just exclude them if they feel too jarring. I could probably have set up some kind of download manager to download and number all the images on the page but because i couldn’t be bothered with spending a few minutes on making the work less tedious for myself i just right clicked and downloaded and numbered each one manually. Fortunately the smaller crossbreeding versions are the same size as the usual images so you won’t have to go to every page to download. Then i imported as layers into photoshop, made the layers into frames, did whatever editing i wanted and exported as gif.
Found this bug at a thrift store, thought "hey, this bug looks a lot like a rust monster, I didn't know they made any D&D plastic toys in this style." Turns out this bug was packaged, along with some other beasties, as a "prehistoric animal" and apparently (according to the internet) the inspiration for the original rust monster. I'm probably way more excited about this than I should be
