marlene’s eyes are brown with green and golden highlights noticeable with sunlight. to sirius it reminds him of the surface of lakes at sundown.

sirius’ eyes are light blue varying to grey. most people describe them as cloudy skies. to marlene it reminds her of the foam of the waves at the bottom of cliff where she spent most summer visiting her grandmother in the tiny island she lived.

marlene is tall (175 cms) but she still needs to tiptoe to reach sirius’ lips (186 cms). however, she’s the perfect size to drop little kisses at the nape of his neck. she loves doing that particularly when she has freezing lips after a winter excursion to hogsmead.

sirius looks very lean at a distance, but when you get up close and personal (as marlene does), turns out he’s very broad and muscular. marlene is constantly surprised when she buys him clothes having to look in the larger sizes. but it turns out that it provides her with comfy clothes when she borrows (sirius claims she steals) something to wear. she will be caught dead admitting he’s the reason she sometimes buys shirts and jackets on his size that are actually hers. she just loves when he wears them and his scent cling to her clothes long after.

on the other side, marlene leans more on the smaller frame but she’s all fiber muscle. she claims it’s all the tips in nutrition and proper training from her quidditch captain (the one and only james potter), but actually is due to the fact she constantly try to run and catch up with her older brothers so she could play with them. if it weren’t for that, she probably look more like a regular and more muscular quidditch beater.

that last one gives sirius plenty of chances to trick people into betting against marlene in quidditch matches or sometimes wrestling matches in the common room. marlene plays along because she enjoys proving people wrong. ofc that doesn’t last long after they finally catch up to the fact that marlene is actually quite strong. also, prof. mcgonagall frowns down on sirius gambling scheme.

sirius has always wore a signet ring with the family motto engraved in it. mostly hiding with magic, but because their cousins accused them with his parents he started wearing a lot more as to hide the family one. after he runs from home, marlene gifted him with his very unique and personal signet.

marlene wear lots of jewelry because she has always loved how her mother looks wearing them. most of her stuff is inherited, except for earrings. she went nuts piercing her ears first summer she went on an excursion with sirius in muggle london.

sirius wears a pinky ring that belonged to marlene and marlene wears a thumb one that belonged to sirius, but they also have a matching hoop with a little start dangling in both their left ears. sometimes, because she can’t quite comfortably use her wand, she takes the ring off and wears it as a necklace. sirius copy this once they join the order, in fear of losing it.

they both get into muggle clothing. sirius as a rebellious thing and marlene because she actually finds it more comfortable to move around. the matching leather jackets only became a thing after marlene borrowed sirius’ so often but she still prefers wearing his.

marlene cuts sirius’ hair, sirius does marlene pink highlights. as for bleach, sirius would rather marlene magically altered her hair as it looks more clean, but marlene really loves when her roots are showing. because of this, sirius makes sure to help her in hopes to get every strand of hair so it’s last longer all clearer.

as for tattoos, sirius never went too crazy seeing as he like doing them the muggle way and because of the order he didn’t have much time. marlene never got around to get any, though she wanted plenty.

Canon sirius wins the idgf game every time omg. Bro does not care. His best friend is in love with someone? "U re not getting the girl with ur personality, James." Peter admiring James. "Peter, u will wet yourself." His other best friend is a werewolf who suffers every full moon. "Damn, I wish it was a full moon." A student starts to ask questions about their secret. "I'm just killing him, whatever."

I just know he made everyone he knows at least cry once, and it wasn’t even on purpose. He's just made like that, and he doesn't even care if u don't tolerate him.

I don't think Andromeda's rebellion was loud, like Sirius'. Not really.

I think Andromeda was a Black through and through. Her parent's pride: Slytherin, prefect, first of the class. She followed the rules, and she knew what her name entailed.

Andromeda Black used to scorn at muggleborns, to mumble stray "mudblood"s when the occasion was fit.

That's how her and Teddy first met. He and his Hufflepuff friends tripped with her, her books fell on the floor, just like a meetcute. But Andromeda didn't blush, she didn't feel like the protagonist of a romance movie.

She saw red. This careless Hufflepuffs had ruined her books, there was spilled ink all over her pages, and, worst of all, there wasn't a single pureblood amongst them.

Maybe she had already been having a bad day. Maybe, in any other situation she wouldn't have reacted, she would have been prideful.

But she cursed them out. She let out a long string of slurs that weren't even in use, a "this is what happens when they let fucking impure thieves into our school", etcetera, etcetera.

And she got a book to the face. Square, right in the middle.

Ted Tonks, one of the Hufflepuffs in the group, had grown tired of her racist rant, and had decided to put an end to it. The muggle way.

Hell ensued: Andromeda brought out her wand and started cursing. Ted charged at her with his bare hands (he was trying to prove a point). The rest of the Hufflepuffs scattered.

The teachers didn't take too long before they arrived and separated them, but Andromeda Black already had a black eye, and Ted Tonks had some ugly, bloody gashes where her curses had landed.

And they were forced to do Detention together.

They couldn't stand each other, from that point onwards. Until Andromeda started changing.

I don't think Andromeda's rebellion was loud. I think it was slow. I think she had to unlearn everything her parents had taught her, and I think at first she wasn't willing. But she was, eventually.

And she did change. She became better.

The most hardcore thing that Harry James Potter ever did was not, contrary to popular belief, the “there’s no need to call me ‘sir,’ Professor” incident, but instead was either the time that he

a) laid into one of the people he respected most in the world (and the only authority figure in his life offering him help in one of the most desperate situations he’d ever been in) for leaving his pregnant wife, going “man, you’re inhibited by your own self-loathing and fear? That’s rough. That really sucks. But you know what trumps that? RESPONSIBILITY. You brought a child into the world. You’re a father now. You’re scared? Walk it off. Walk it off AAAAAALLLL THE WAY BACK HOME. And say hi to Tonks for me.”

I’ve been working on the translation of a fic I wrote back in the summer (my summer, at least). It’s a light read, both in terms of length and plot, cause while I love angsty, yearning and slow burn kinda stories, I did wanted to give them a fairly easy chance for once. 

As a warning though, this story does not follow the pair after they (finally) get together.

Summary:

Sirius Black and Marlene McKinnon are just quidditch buddies, both Gryffindor team beaters. Nothing more. Especially since James Potter would never forgive them for disturbing the peace of a team that is just recovering from a breakup between two chasers.

Luckily, there's nothing to worry about, because Sirius and Marlene have never looked at each other that way.
