generally you shouldn't write run-on sentences because they get confusing and it doesn't give the reader a break. that doesn't apply to me though my run-on sentences are fun and understandable and they have a rhythm to it that makes you want to keep reading
I know we are all like "people in caveman times would drill holes in their head to relieve headaches" andwe go oh that's so stupid that's so dumb but like. then I get a headache and I'm like.ooooh I get it I get it. Grug prepare the drill.

Thank you for the tag, @terezis! All my published fics are almost-entirely centred around Turmeric's tapdole disaster journey so I will also have to dip into some unpublished stuff, but here we go-
1. More Graves to Dig (BG3)

It's a relief, Shadowheart realises, to work in daylight again.
4. Wings Outstretched (Talons Extended) (BG3)
As unfortunate as it is for Ulder, Wyrm's Rock Fortress is the best place to regroup after the fall of the Absolute, and the tower – the former-Archduke Gortash's quarters – the most suitable location to organise the efforts.
(Bit of a run-on, here. You can really tell I've started to lean into endless dashes as punctuation since the beginning of the series.)
5. Moments Between (BG3)
“I really do think I preferred staying in ignorance, darling, I don't know why you had to point out that this place is actually some ghastly shithole.”
6. White Rooms with Red Floors (Firefly - a really old one from way back in the day that I'm still not sure why I wrote, and I'm too afraid to reread past the first line in the fear it won't hold up. I do still have a fondness for the title though.)

Okay, here's where we get into random work-in-progress stuff that will probably never see the light of publishing day anyway but oh, well.

The slow ticking of a Geiger counter rouses Preston from his peaceful sleep, on a mattress that doesn't make his back ache, in clothes not weighed down by weeks worth of grime- in a place that finally, for the first time in a very long time, makes him happy to be waking.
8. Rat Sucker (Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines)
There's nothing like the smell of a Nosferatu – the pungent aroma of sewer drain mixed with the all the revolting fragrance of a festering sore – which, unfortunately, Therese knows all too well.
It's quite clear with all these in a row that I try to introduce the perspective character within the first line - unless it starts with dialogue I guess - but I do like to make it clear who we're with and who we're following as soon as possible.
I don't think I can think of ten whole people to tag, but @fandang1, you might like a go!
"came back wrong" what about Came Back Afraid. You used to be brave. Too brave maybe, defying the odds at every turn, a fighter, cocky, playing with fire, first to throw yourself at the enemy. Until one day it all caught up to you. You came back, somehow, but now you know all too intimately how it feels to lose, to die, to be destroyed. Now you flinch and freeze and cower at the slightest provocation. Who even are you now if you can't be brave? The grave may have let you go, but the mortal fear still grips you tighter than ever.
Chapter 16!!!! - The Bloodbath
Here I go getting into a writing frenzy for the exciting climatic boss fight chapter - and AO3 starts lagging just as I go to post it!
Teaches me for thinking I could get a chapter out so early and have everything go smoothly, I suppose. Ah well, I hope everyone enjoys it at least - when they get the chance to read it, that is!

Most infuriating part of writing is having an idea and thinking oh, this is gonna be so good and wanting to IMMEDIATELY share the vision with other people because it's gonna be good but then you start writing it down and - it is gonna be good. Except. It is also gonna take so, so, so long to finish. And in the meantime. You are the only one with The Vision. Alone. Losing your mind. 😭

Finally got this bit of banter in BG3, and the fact that it occurred in the Act 2 Shadowlands had me rolling:

Chapter 15!!!!
Bit of an odd time in the day for posting, but I'm going to be busy later and I didn't want it to be delayed so SURPRISE!
You may have noticed the chapter count has gone up to 17 – I'm aware I said it would be 16 earlier but some things got shifted around, so. It may still go up to 18 depending on how long the final chapter gets, we shall see.

writing really is just googling synonyms. that's it. just a constant carousel of "I used this word two paragraphs ago, what is another word for this word"
obviously i’m the one choosing for her to do this but at some point shadowheart casting guidance every time you speak to somebody displays a quite funny lack of confidence
Another delay, of course, because the wretched functions of my body refuse to adhere to any reasonable timing, and prefer instead to ruin my perfectly good plans. But I'm not bitter or anything.
Hopefully will be out in the next few days despite my body's best efforts, but I guess we'll see, won't we?
