idk but it's just so weird whenever I see any character being shipped with another person even though they are happily married and will literally sacrifice each other for the love they have for each other 😐😐. It's just so icky, like there are plenty other characters for you to pair up with Regulus but you chose James. James Potter who was literally head over heels for Lily Evans and I have no idea why they thought that it was a good idea to ship him with a said death eater who was literally one of the reasons Sirius left his home. I mean, if it was a gay relationship, surely y'all wouldn't have done the vice versa right? That'll be greatly offensive. But since Lily's a woman so it's okay! I get it not everyone has the same taste, but I'm sharing my opinion.

If you have to fanonize your characters to make the ship good, maybe your ship isn’t that good in the first place.

The entire premise of Jegulus is so clearly rooted in fetish and misogyny cause some people can’t be normal about gay men.

There are SO MANY better ways to add depth to Regulus’ character, his relationship with his brother and cousins!! Give the black sisters some depth too while you’re at it. His character is SO interesting but it’s constantly watered down to James’ twink. Nothing wrong with Regulus being gay as a HC but it’s WEIRD to make fanfics about James (who loved Lily for YEARS) cheating on her. It’s weird!! It’s icky!! It’s misogynistic!!

Jily losing all its popularity is genuinely baffling to me because their relationship is YEARNING AND LOYALTY. James died for her and she died for their son. Reducing her character to a baby maker for Regulus and James to raise is WEIRD. Especially when Regulus was canonically a deatheater. A death eater who hated muggle borns—which Lily IS. WHY would James be anywhere near Regulus.

I think one big reason why we don't consider the stars as important as before (not even pop-astrology anymore cares about the stars or the sky on itself, just the signs deprived of context) is because of light pollution.

For most of human history the sky looked between 1-3, 4 at most. And then all of a sudden with electrification it was gone (I'm lucky if I get 6 in my small city). The first time I saw the Milky Way fully as a kid was a spiritual experience, I was almost scared on how BRIGHT it was, it felt like someone was looking back at me. You don't get that at all with modern light pollution.

When most people talk about stargazing nowadays they think about watching about a couple of bright dots. The stars are really, really not like that. The unpolluted night sky is a festival of fireworks. There is nothing like it.

My headcanons for how Petalsnake (Lucius x Petunia) played out

My backstory for them is that in 1979 Voldemort was tracking down the Potters (not particularly for prophecy reasons just because they were powerful adversaries and he wanted them gone) and so he decided to try and use Petunia to get to Lily. She’s taken to Malfoy Manor where she meets Lucius for the first time.

They definitely don’t instantly connect but I see him accidentally getting to know her better and having to face the fact muggles aren’t all they seem (he later rejects this line of thought and decides it’s just Petunia that’s the exception so he doesn’t have to confront changing his own ideology)

Petunia plays along and pretends to know where Lily is (she doesn’t) for a bit because despite being in a hostage situation she’s finally involved in the world she’s been locked out of for so long

Her opinion on this changes when Voldemort comes and seriously threatens her for the first time and she realises her life, and her sister’s life, are in danger

Lucius, having grown close to her decides to help her escape and anonymously contacts the Potters and then makes it possible for a rescue to occur

Back home, Lucius gives her a way to contact him and says she can decide if she ever wants to see him again (this is referenced in my fic a date to remember) but eventually ends up coming and asking her on a date anyway

Throughout the rest of 1979 they see each other regularly, with their dates continuing throughout 1980 and early 1981 but declining a little due to Lucius’ circumstances

Finally after the events of October 31st in 1981, Petunia cuts off all contact with Lucius and destroys any evidence she ever knew him. Lucius, who would’ve personally continued the affair, was more affected by this than Petunia, mainly because she was focused on grieving a sister she’d spent most of the time disliking and taking in a child she didn’t want

They have no contact with each other at all until after Voldemort’s defeat, but they both decide not to resume their affair

Lucius does go to Petunia’s funeral but stays mostly out of the way (because canonically she died sometime before 2020 and was somewhere between 38 and 61 when it happened 😭)

Dolores Umbridge was a raging bitch with a good girl teacher's pet persona during her time in Hogwarts and since Regulus Black couldn't stand her nosy ass poking in every direction he decided to fuck her and make a whore out of her to teach her a lesson. Little did he knew Jane was actually into hardcore and they started to test each other's limits and fast forward they got into BDSM and then they fell in love somehow but since she's a half blood he broke it off with her because his family wouldn't allow him to marry a blood traitor and then he tragically dies and Dolores becomes sad and broken and yes your honor it's cannon because I said so.
