There Are So Many Things I’ve Wanted To Know Regarding Just How Different (or Not Different) Aspecs

ok let’s talk about the ronan/adam size difference:

the height difference is only like an inch or two but it totally matters

ronan stubbornly refusing to lean down so adam has to tiptoe the slightest bit to kiss him. adam’s all pouty and annoyed and ronan thinks it’s adorable

adam getting frustrated and shoving him down on the bed and sitting in his lap so they’re on the same level

adam secretly loves waking up all warm and cozy in his arms, feeling safe and protected. ronan’s like a furnace so he makes the Best Pillow Ever

ronan loves being the little spoon tho. adam crawling into his bed after work, wrapping an arm around his waist, breathing against the back of his neck, warming his feet between ronan’s calves

ronan letting adam do whatever he wants to him even though he’s bigger/taller than him!!!!

he LOVES it, he loves when adam’s bossy and manhandles him and presses him up against walls and holds him down on the bed and touches and kisses him everywhere like he wants to devour him whole

ronan dropping kisses on his forehead all the time, burying his nose in his hair, putting an arm around his shoulders in the booth at nino’s and kissing his temple 

adam tucking his face against the side of ronan’s neck, arms sliding around his waist, kissing where his tattoo’s showing

ok i have to talk about the clothes-sharing: adam wearing his leather jacket and it’s a couple sizes too big and the sleeves almost cover his hands and it’s warm and soft and well-worn and it smells like him and he’s never giving it back. ronan wearing adam’s old threadbare t-shirts that are a little too tight but adam’s enjoying the view a bit too much

ok adam also secretly likes when ronan puts his arm around him all possessive in public. he secretly likes that ronan scares babies and their mothers and that literally no one would dare look at either of them the wrong way (even if they both know adam’s the one who could actually ruin someone’s life if he wants to)

basically, certified big scary badass™ ronan lynch being utterly at adam parrish’s mercy :)))))

How to make yourself feel again 

Sit outside and feel sunlight on your skin. Focus on the feeling and let your imagination go free. Don’t think about what is stressing you. 

Go for a walk barefoot on the grass and breathe. 

Have a technology break and just sit. 

Drink a glass of cold water. 

Read your favourite sad book. Sit and immerse yourself in the story. 

Listen to your favourite meaningful songs. Preferably use headphones and blast it. Sing along to the lyrics and focus on the words and melodies. 

Read poetry gently. Really think about what it means. 

Sit and cry. Just let everything out. 

Reminisce the past. Think over everything. 

Write all of your thoughts and feelings down.

buying copies of your favorite books in the original language, even though you can barely read them

sounding out long words, letting the unfamiliar syllables roll off of your tongue

pacing the room, repeating words until they’re memorized

excelling in class, always ready to be called on

vocabulary flashcards tucked in the pocket of your coat

empty mugs scattered across your room

writing down unfamiliar phrases to look them up later

admiring words for themselves, for the beauty in the syllables

flipping through dictionaries, underlining useful words

a longing not only to see the world, but to understand it in its native tongue

soaking up language, keeping the words filed away in your head

carefully dissecting the grammar of a sentence, marking out parts of speech until you can fully understand

never missing a duolingo practice

mumbling to yourself, practicing your accent and inflection

difficult vocab words scribbled on your hand

using idioms to sound more like a native speaker, seeking authenticity

methodical work, notes perfectly organized

the joy of comprehension

sitting on the train and going through flashcards again and again

photos of the places you want to visit pinned to the walls

writing your favorite words in the margins of your notes

putting shows in your target language on in the background, letting the sounds wash over you until they’re familiar
