Thank you general mother, Harriet, for your courage and selflessness, After escaping slavery you made dangerous attempts to returned to different plantations to help free other slaves, you did this over a course of 16 years disguised as a crazy old lady, you would sing songs with hidden messages to tell slaves to prepare to escape. You would also sing to the slaves on their way to freedom to help them overcome their fear of being caught, you helped free over 700 men, women & children.
