Amur Leopard This Leopard Inhabits Cold Environments, Which Necessitates Denser And Thicker Fur, Making

Amur leopard This leopard inhabits cold environments, which necessitates denser and thicker fur, making it, in my opinion, the most beautiful of all eight subspecies of leopards. It is classified as critically endangered, and its population is estimated to be just over 100 individuals. The Amur leopard resides in Russia and China, while sadly believed to be extinct in Korea. ______________________________________ Photo Reference: Paul Bugbee Check out my Store here ______________________________________ Thank you, guys, for your support. Pygmy Hog

Pygmy Hog

This is the smallest species of the family and sadly one of the most endangered species as well.

This hog is the sole representative of Porcula, making its conservation even more important, as its extinction would result in the loss of a unique evolutionary branch of pigs.

The destruction of its habitat has been its main problem, reducing its viable population in to the Manas National Park. However, even there threats as livestock grazing, poaching, fires and natural predators persist. The total wild population has been estimated in less than 150 animals.

"Majestic Creature Born At Nights, Solace Of Its Solitariness And Emulating Its Colours. As Dangerous

"Majestic creature born at nights, solace of its solitariness and emulating its colours. As dangerous as beautiful, with eyes that shine as the full moon does. Silent in every step and evasive of any glance, a mystery that surprises its prey, either animal or man, to embrace them in red and disappear before the night succumbs to the sun again."

- Old Malaysian saying referring to the encounters of its villagers with          the maltese tiger. -

I Finished The Tapir's Family. I Had Contemplated Including The Kabomani Tapir, Supposedly A New Species

I finished the tapir's family. I had contemplated including the Kabomani Tapir, supposedly a new species discovered a few years ago. However, after conducting extensive research, I found insufficient credible evidence to support its classification as a distinct species. Nevertheless, I did uncover information confirming the existence of four subspecies of Lowland Tapir. Some studies suggest that a black tapir photographed in Malaysia may represent a new species of tapir, yet most scientists contend that it is simply a melanistic variation of the Malayan Tapir. As these examples illustrate, animal classification is not always clear-cut. Therefore, I will continue to study this fascinating animal family and keep abreast of any new developments.

For the time being, this art print provides the most current depiction of the Tapir family, including the four subspecies of Lowland Tapir, the conservation status, and scientific names. You can purchase it by clicking on the link below. Tapir's Art Print Thank you for your support. Please like and share this image if you think it is worth it. See you soon with a new family. Pygmy Right Whale

Pygmy Right Whale

I had no idea this one exists. How awesome can be a small version of a right whale? Here it is, the Pygmy Right Whale.

Not much is known about this animal since is one of the whales that has been studied the less. Often confused at sight with the Minke Whale, observation of the Pygmy Right Whale is rather scarce. Lives in the Southern Hemisphere in waters of temperatures that range from 5 to 20 °C.

Today We Are Going To Start With A Family That Is Loved By Many. Is Not My Cup Of Tea But I Have Learned

Today we are going to start with a family that is loved by many. Is not my cup of tea but I have learned about them and they are indeed fascinating. The equines. Domestic Horse

The domestication of horses is believed to occurred around 4000 to 3500 BCE, possibly in what is today Kazakhstan. However, there is some debate among experts about the exact time and location of horse domestication, as evidence of early horse domestication is limited and sometimes difficult to interpret. It is generally agreed, however, that horses were first domesticated for their meat, milk, and hides, and that they were later used for transportation, agriculture, and warfare.

There are numerous breeds of domestic horses, which are classified into three categories: Hot Blood, Cold Blood, and Warm Blood. These majestic creatures have played a crucial role in human evolution. The horse was one of the first animals to be domesticated, and their partnership with humans has allowed us to travel greater distances, carry heavy loads, cultivate crops with greater efficiency, and conquer the world. In short, without the taming of horses, we would not have been able to achieve the level of progress and development that we have today. It is also a very recurrent animal in art as we have seen it in many paintings and sculptures throughout history. It is commonly connected with strength, power, speed, and freedom. It is clear that this animal awakened an ongoing fascination that has been represented on numerous occasions. _________________________________________ Photo Credits: www.freepik.es.

The Annamite river and its floating islands. (Vietnam) This is a reproduction of the view of the jungle through the eyes of my Great Grand Father.

3rd of May 1821 “Today we arrive at the Annamiterange5. The tribe called Cơ Tu6 has received us and we are going on an expedition for at least three months trying to unveil the jungle´s secrets and discover more of what it has been unseen.

Two of the villagers will come with us. Our expert guides will take us where no other human has been. We will live in the jungle and we will become a part it. We will be no more than spectators of what the jungle will reveal for us.”

It Is Almost Impossible To Find A Complete Photograph Of The Javan Rhinoceros. Doing This Illustration

It is almost impossible to find a complete photograph of the Javan Rhinoceros. Doing this illustration was very challenging but also I had to be more creative.

Indonesian Javan Rhinoceros

The second species from the Rhinocerontidae genus is the elusive and rarest big mammal, the Javan Rhinoceros. There are about 60 individuals in the world, making this rhino the most endangered big mammal in the world.

The surprising thing is that it wasn't the case 200 years ago. It was the most common rhinoceros in the world and could be found from India to Indonesia (Nepal, Burma, Malaysia, Cambodia, Vietnam, etc). Sport hunting, poaching, and environmental deterioration put him on the brink of extinction today.

It was often confused with the Indian Rhino. The biggest difference will be its size, which the Javan Rhinoceros is considerably smaller, its armor is less marked, and the triangle formed at the back of the neck is less notorious in the Indian Rhino.

We Are Moving To A Very Charismatic Family: The Giraffes. I Had A Little Trouble Trying To Identify The

We are moving to a very charismatic family: The giraffes. I had a little trouble trying to identify the species and subspecies of this family because has been changing throughout the years. It was thought to be one single species with nine subspecies. Today, different taxonomic divisions are recognized but probably the most accepted are four species, eight subspecies, and one ecotype (which I will explain in the future) So let's begin!

Reticulated Giraffe It is a single species with no subspecies. Along with the Rothschild's giraffe, those two are the most common giraffes in zoos and are probably the ones you have seen.

Its coat might be the easiest to recognize because its patches are very distinctive from other giraffes (sharp-edged, reddish-brown polygonal patches divided by a network of thin white lines).

Its particular shape has evolved in order to be able to eat the tallest branches of the trees avoiding all kinds of competence. Once an adult, the chances of being hunted by predators diminishes dramatically, making it a very successful animal.

It is facing a dramatical decrease in population due is the target for hunting for different purposes. Not just for trophy hunting but also various body parts are used for different things: Meat for food, the hairs of the tail served as bracelets, necklaces, threads, etc. Shields, sandals, and drums were made using the skin, and the strings of musical instruments were from the tendons, etc. Many organizations are taking care of this animal in Africa and all over the world. It will be a total shame to lose an animal like this one. Thank you guys for your support. I'm gonna mix things up a little in order not to bore you with one whole family of mammals at once. So next week, a whole new species that I think you gonna like.

Oliver's Warty Pig / Mindoro Warty Pig

Oliver's warty pig / Mindoro warty pig

Listed as Endangered because its extent of occurrence is less than 5,000 km² being its area of occupancy less than 500 km². Even though accurate records are lacking, the distribution range of this pig is severely fragmented. There is also a continuing decline in the extent and quality of its habitat, and in the number of mature individuals caused by over-hunting. Hybridization with free-ranging domestic pigs introduced and maintained by hinterland communities is an additional and likely serious additional threat.
