"Some Things Are Too Terrible To Grasp At Once. Other Things - Naked, Sputtering, Indelible In Their

"Some things are too terrible to grasp at once. Other things - naked, sputtering, indelible in their horror - are too terrible to really grasp ever at all. It is only later, in solitude, in memory that the realization dawns: when the ashes are cold; when the mourners have departed; when one looks around and finds oneself - quite to one's surprise - in an entirely different world."

-Donna Tartt; The Secret History

Cultural Dark Academia

After my last post about the lack of representation in academia, I felt it neccessary to provide some examples of what I’m talking about. Obviously there are more countries in the world than I can list and provide books for, so for a quick list this is what I got. !! Keep researching !! If you have any more books by POC please reply them !! If a country isn’t listed, that doesn’t mean it’s not important, this is just what I could get together real quick. If I made any mistakes, please let me know, we’re all learning. We need to help each other end eurocentrism in academia, so value representation and educate yourselves 💓💓💓

My Current State Of Mind

My current state of mind

My problem is that I want to be adored like a goddess by one person and be treated as a shadow by every single soul at the same time

i love when you hear a song and you're like “oh id absolutely stumble through the snow bleeding from a knife stuck in my gut to this”

“Go and love someone exactly as they are. then, watch how they transform into the greatest truest version of themselves. when one feels seen and appreciated in their own essence, one is instantly empowered.”

— Wes Angelozzi

That best feeling where you’re like, “I love books. I wanna read all the books. I just wanna spend all my time immersed in all of the books.” And then you inhale and just get that feeling of peace and anticipation and slight anxiety but it’s okay, because you love the books and no one can take that away from you.
