Has any mentioned the class a drugs Sherlock does? Because it’s so funny how many adaptions ignore his opioid habit from the original stories, meanwhile Sherlock and Co is all “yeah, he does the hardcore shit”

I love it

Lately I’ve seen posts about [the lie] of Deku not knowing what triggered the awakening of Black Whip. And yeah, it can be agreed, that was weird. But Deku is not typically known for lying. The thought of Kacchan knowing how much he means to Deku (still)… could that have been scary to him? Because Deku has a hard time saying how he feels to Kacchan in particular, that will always be a possibility. 

But, there are still two other options left that we can’t ignore. Horikoshi not wanting to acknowledge it in a shounen manga? I used to wonder this a little bit, but after some thinking I’m starting to believe it might simply be: Deku is not fully remembering his traumas. Let’s dive down this rabbit hole!

Deku not remembering what happens in the times where he loses control of his heart might be a thing. 

Like with Shigaraki.

Kacchan specifically asked him “Do you remember what I told you when I got stabbed?” And Deku said he didn’t. But lets think about this for one moment.

Those could have been Kacchan’s last words to Deku, so it seems pretty poignant and noteworthy that he should forget them so easily, right? Maybe they were never even committed to memory. Because maybe, he has no clearcut recollection of what happened after at all. The Kacchan obsessed Deku not being able to remember Kacchan’s potential last words to him is a HUGE tell. 

Even the fact that his lack of memories of that particular time was brought up during their conversation is quite strange and seemed a little inorganically placed there…  possibly to establish a pattern? matte matte matte!  Thinking back, hasn’t this already happened multiple times now? With this, Deku Not Remembering TRAUMATIC Events Properly has actually become a thing. 

Because it also happened during their training camp, when Deku collapsed after the complete defeat and loss of Kacchan.

Speaking of which, when Kacchan was taken, Deku got super angry and possessive. It’s still amazing to me that his possessive behaviour towards Kacchan was noted and acknowledged by a third party in the manga. And that is why I want to say because of this one instance, Horikoshi not wanting to acknowledge the real trigger of Black Whip in a boys manga and make Deku “lie” for personal and professional reasons: I am gonna rule that out.

Because Horikoshi has already once acknowledged how much ownership Izuku feels over Katsuki’s existence, by his own imagination and creation through Compress, which in itself was a pretty odd exchange for a shounen manga to have in the first place. It means Horikoshi has shown from very early on he is not afraid of explicitly expressing the complex and sometimes nonsensical feelings the two protags have for each other.

Back to the story: When he lost Kacchan to the villains, Deku completely lost all cognition and cried out loud in unfiltered despair as he crumpled on the ground. Deku was in so much pain, not from the injuries, but the anguish inflicted on his psyche from losing the one person he cares about more than anything.

This image was so powerful that the anime left it unanimated there for five seconds. The scene was so powerful that anyone who saw it understood how important to him Kacchan is, if they didn’t know that already. I wouldn’t be surprised if the ones there gossiped a little bit because Kirishima, who wasn’t even there, seemed to be especially empathetic towards Izuku after it happened.

(Really makes you wonder why any of their classmates don’t point out how they really feel for each other to the both of them. For example, if Kacchan had known how Izuku acted (see above) after he got taken, would DvK2 have even happened at least in the way it did with him being delusional about how Izuku feels about him? I seriously doubt it. He might even have wanted to get to the bottom of Izuku’s strong feelings for him because in Kacchan’s shoes, and with their history, I would find it super confusing and even a little sussy.)

So after that complete mental breakdown in front of some classmates, Deku was in hospital on copium. You know, with the big dopey “I am dissociating from reality” eyes he gets. He actually even thinks the words: “I don’t remember a single thing.” 

He even begins to dissociate again the second he remembers mama Inko’s words during her breakdown about the dangers of him becoming a hero. (Said after he escaped Shigaraki at the mall.)

He either doesn’t want to or isn’t able to think about the traumatising, negative happenings in his life and by internalising all of it, maybe he has simply become horrible at processing and controlling his feelings and emotions and gets these almost borderline (bpd) type attacks when his emotions overflow their smolbean container. (The one above of him crying on the ground in particular resonated very strongly with me.)

When his classmates came, that got him remembering what happened again and Deku broke down crying because losing Kacchan had become a serious ptsd for him. This was an event so traumatising that his mind couldn’t cope with knowing it ever happened and sort of lost track of it to protect his heart. Deku locked everything away inside because he didn’t want to experience his broken heart anymore.

So is it really Deku not wanting to admit to AM and Kacchan that Kacchan’s honour was insulted and stuff just kinda happened?

(Side note: That is some major side-eye there, Kacchan. This could be way over-analysing things but the drawing of Kacchan’s always distrustful face and that speech bubble about external catalyst ending up over it feels uncoincidental and awkwardly funny to me. Like Horikoshi intentionally omitted out the real trigger from the dialogue but drew a panel that carries a 4th-wall-breaking air of “BUT WE ALL KNOW THE TRIGGER AND HES SITTING RIGHT THERE”.  Sadly, the anime gave the side-eye no justice lol.)

Or is it a bigger issue of Deku internalising everything bad that happens so much to the point he forgets it ever even happened?

I think we have enough evidence here to suggest the latter, that he wasn’t lying, at least not intentionally. Him forgetting a lot about traumatic experiences that cause him to lose control is being used as his defence mechanism because he is unable to cope with processing certain stuff.

Namely, Kacchan’s presence being forcibly removed from him,

a terrifying new quirk springing forth from his body because he feels so much empathy towards how hurt Kacchan was about the issue, before he could even process his feelings of anger at Monoma for insulting his Kacchan,

and the thought of Kacchan getting hurt or dying.

I think that these events were so traumatic for Izuku that his mind became warped and confused about what actually happened. It’s not that he’s being intentionally misleading when directly asked “why”, but due to unknown mental issues, he feels negative experiences too strongly and not being able to cope with his feelings and the subsequent [Feral Mode: Activate]s can make him an unreliable narrator of his own memories and story.

When it comes down to it, I think Kacchan is so deeply imbedded in Deku’s heart, his sense of empathy with Kacchan is so extreme that any attack against Kacchan is always taken very personally (see: Possessive Deku) and Deku goes wild and loses control of himself and his emotions (see: Feral Deku), and for at least three instances it has gotten to the point where he doesn’t seem to remember the circumstances surrounding it.

And lastly, we simply can’t overlook the pink elephant of an underlying theme in the manga. The pattern of him losing control and acting crazy for the sake of Kacchan. It’s definitely there. That pattern exists. But maybe, to Izuku, during the times he loses control, it all just becomes a blur to him.

Preach!!!! I live breath and die for Valdangelo and am not the biggest fan of Percabeth and have been torn apart by canon shippers in the past. Ship what you want and move on. 

Non-Canon Ships in the Percy Jackson Fandom

One thing I really hate about a loud minority of people in the Percy Jackson fandom (which needs to be addressed, so I’ll address it) is that they’re so intolerant to non-canon ships. Most of the other fandoms I’m in either don’t have canon ships in the first place, or are completely open to all ships. A loud minority of people in the Percy Jackson fandom are just so stuck on P3rcabeth, S0langelo, etc. that they’re completely closed-minded when it comes to other ships, like Percico or Valdangelo or Piperbeth. And I don’t mind that they don’t ship these non-canon ships, I mind that they constantly hate on them (“I hate Percico so much, S0langelo and P3rcabeth for life”, “Lol, Percico sucks”, “I’m glad Percico never happened” on Percico fanart and videos and fics, like wtf even is your reason for hating it?? Cuz it’s not canon??).

They bash ships constantly just because it challenges their own ship. Not even because it’s ~problematic~ or anything, just simply because it’s not their own ship. It’s like they try to find excuses to hate on these ships, because they’re such control freaks and they think everyone should only stick with the canon ships, or that the canon ships are somehow superior to the non-canon ones (despite the various issues with the canon ships tbh, but that’s not the point I’m trying to make). Anyway, I don’t think any of them have actually grasped the point of fandom yet……it’s simply annoying that they go on posts of other ships specifically to hate on them, when they could ignore it and move on with their lives and their canon ships. Like God, just let non-canon shippers have some fun, let them ship what they want. It’s not threatening your ship in canon, and it’s not forcing you to ship non-canon ships, so just leave them alone.

Eddie was kinda pissed as he stabbed at the food on his tray. “You sure they said we can’t?” Gareth question, and he sounded just as Eddie felt.

“They said that we couldn’t do this week,” Eddie said again, and he glanced up as Steve moved to sit down next to Jeff. He was pulling something out of his backpack and it was the first time since that first time that Steve actually sat with them.

“What can’t you guys do?” Steve questioned as he pulled out a container of cookies and slid them over to Jeff.

Jeff lit up even as the others looked confused. “We can’t do Hellfire this week. Apparently, the drama club needs the drama room this week.” Jeff explains, and Steve pauses.

His face makes a hundred micro expressions before he shrugs, “You could do it at my house. I don’t really care.” Steve states and moves to stand back up hit Jeff pulls him back down. “Uh, what?”

He looks confused, and it’s unfair because it seems like the moment they should be confused. “Three questions. First I thought you had swimming? Second, why would you let us do it at your house? Most parents think we are a cult, and I doubt your parents would think differently. And lastly, what’s up with the cookies?”

Steve looks a little embarrassed as he’s forced to stay there. But he meets Eddie’s gaze. “First, I do have swimming, but I don’t care. Come over that night or another if you really care. Second, my parents are in either Beijing or Belgium right now, so they don’t get an opinion. And the cookies are for Jeff because he helped me last weekend. He can share, or he doesn’t have to, I don’t care.”

Eddie blinks, “you’d let us be at your house without you there?”

“Sure, why not. I doubt you’ll trash the entire place. And even if you do, there’s not much you could do I haven’t seen before. I’ve had enough parties to get good at cleaning up.” Steve states, and Eddie looks at the others, trying to see if they’re just as confused.

“That’s amazing, dude! How about we get pizza, since you’ll host?” Jeff offers, and Steve gives them a tight smile. Eddie’s not sure if it’s because of the topic of food or the idea that they’re going to take him up on the offer. 

Steve nods and it’s a little sharp, “Right. Yeah just let me know date and time.” He pauses and goes back to his bag. He pauses before he can pull whatever he’s grabbed before steeling himself. “Here, just in case I’m busy.” He drops a key onto the table and practically bolts from the table. 

Eddie waits for him to come back and take the key with a sike. But he doesn’t, instead Eddie sees him dodge Billy’s foot and escape out of the lunch room. “Here I thought we were adopting him.” Gareth mused and picked up the key. Jeff smacked him and took the key. “Hey!” Gareth complains. 

“Yeah, I’ve actually been to his house so…” Jeff points out.

That gets Eddie back up and moving, “yeah. About that, what the hell?”

Jeff laughs, “I helped him cook. He’s been struggling with meet lately and you know my sister.” Eddie nods because it does make sense but at the same time it makes zero sense. “I bumped into him at the store…” Jeff trails off, “I think we need to try harder.”

“Harder?” Eddie squeaked and his friends gave him a look that he really wished he didn’t know. 

Jeff doesn’t let that stop him though. “Well, I thought it was bad enough going from top dog to the new top dog’s chew toy but the guy is struggling. He only had condiments in his fridge even though he told me he was a good cook, which he is. Apparently he has no clue where his parents are at the moment. He had a guess but that was it. And! He has no clue when they’re coming back. I asked and he laughed it off saying maybe for Christmas. Christmas.”

“It’s not even Thanksgiving yet!” Grant states and Jeff nods. 

Gareth sighs, “I’ve been bothering him during my free period. Normally just working on shit next to him… but the dude is not okay. He squints when he reads like he can’t see it well. I’m pretty sure he’s been getting migraines since he fought with Billy. And I’m 80% sure he’s partially deaf in his left ear. Cause if I whisper on that side he never responds. But he will when I sit on his right.”

“He never eats lunch,” Eddie sighs. “He always tears his food apart to make it look like he’s eating. If his fridge is empty than he might not be eating that often.”

“Well shit,” Grant sighs. “But how do we help him without it being weird.”

Eddie presses his hands together under his chin to think. “Okay, so we stop with the subtle friendship and go for it. If we’re his best friends then maybe he’ll let us help him.”

“So operation make Steve Harrington friendship bracelets is ago.” Gareth grins and Jeff throws a grape at him. 

They already had access to the boy’s house. How hard could it be?

When Eddie gets excited, he gets a bit overwhelmed. At least, that’s what Steve has noticed, with the way Eddie has to take a quick running lap, bounce up and down, etc. whenever he gets too happy.

Steve secretly thinks it’s adorable and tries his best to induce these little happy zoomies.

It doesn’t take much. Sometimes it’s just a small compliment such as, “That shirt looks nice on you,” that has Eddie bouncing on his heels and fidgeting with his rings with a smile on his face. Sometimes, Steve tries to notice something new like when Eddie trims his bangs or paints his nails, that makes Eddie flush red and mumble, “Yeah, I did,” before taking a quick walk around Family Video before making his way back to him.

This time, Steve isn’t really trying to get a reaction out of Eddie who is angrily storming around the break room of Family Video after Steve had seen his face upon entering the store and ushered him to the back.

“I can’t believe this is happening,” Eddie mutters out, running a hand over his face. Steve sits back quietly, letting Eddie go on a little rant. “He said, we were allowed to have the basement for our campaign. All of it. Then, Ted Wheeler in all his glory suddenly says that we’re too loud, and we can’t do the campaign at their house anymore. I mean… it’s one more session! He could’ve sat in that damn recliner and shut him mouth for one more session! Fuck.”

Eddie groans dramatically and sits on the ground, head in his hands. “I don’t know what to do. It’s summer so we don’t have access to the school. And I can’t risk breaking in and having them take away my well earned diploma. Plus, my trailer is too small, and no one else has the privacy of Mike’s basement. We’re done for!”

Steve shrugs, seeing a clear answer to the problem. “You can do it at my house. My parents are never home, and I can stay in my room for as long as you need.”

Eddie’s head snaps up. “Are you serious?”

“Yeah,” Steve says, not really sure why he’s so shocked.

Eddie stands up quickly. “You’re positive you can deal with all the Hellfire members in your house?”

Steve nods. “I’ll even buy you guys pizza if you want.”

“Buy us pizza…” Eddie mumbles under his breath in disbelief. “Steve Harrington, are you granting me permission to use your house for Hellfire Club meaning hours of us yelling maybe even late into the night while we play our nerdy game?”

Steve nods and shrugs again. “Yeah. It’s not that big of a deal.”

“Not that big of a deal?” Eddie repeats, once again in disbelief. He slightly smiles. “We’re going to be able to complete the campaign.” He bounces on his heels excitedly. “We’re going to complete the campaign!” He runs up to Steve and hugs him tightly, jumping up and down, successfully jostling a laughing Steve in his arms. “We have a place to complete the campaign!!”

Eddie puts him down and pulls back with a big smiles. “Thank you! Seriously thank you. This means so much I could just-”

Before Steve can react, Eddie is leaning forward and pressing his mouth against his in an enthusiastic kiss.

Eddie pulls back quickly and puts his hands over his mouth in horror. “Oh my gosh. I’m so- fuck. I’m so fucking sorry. I just got uh…”

Steve waves him off as Eddie backs as far away from him as possible. “You just got excited. It’s okay.”

It’s okay as it can be considering that Steve really wants to kiss Eddie again although he’s not sure what that really means. But suddenly the urge to make Eddie happy makes a whole lot of sense.

Shit. Okay. He can work with this.

He glances up at Eddie who looks petrified in fear. “I just got excited…” he whispers out.

Steve slowly makes his way to him and puts his hands on his shoulders. “It’s okay, Eddie. Really. I uh, enjoyed it.”

“You enjoyed it?” Eddie echoes uncertainly.

“Yes. But if it was just an excitement thing, I understand.”

Eddie breathes out, “And what if it was more than an excitement thing?”

Steve takes a step further into Eddie’s space and tilts his head. “Then I’d ask if I could kiss you.”

Eddie swallows harshly and leans forward. “It was definitely more than an excitement thing.”

Steve smiles softly and asks, “Can I kiss you?”

“Yes,” Eddie says, slipping his hands into Steve’s hair as he moves forward again.

This time, Steve knows to respond, moving his lips against Eddie’s gently before tracing his tongue against the seam of his lips, exploring the inside of his mouth when Eddie lets him in.

When Steve reluctantly pulls away from the kiss to check on Eddie, he gets a quick nip to the lip.

Eddie flushes red. “So, I sometimes bite when I’m happy.”

Steve leans in again and whispers against his lips, “Thank god I’m into that.”

And he’s going to make sure to learn all the ways to elicit these responses from Eddie, but first, he’s going to learn all the ways Eddie likes to be kissed.

oh my fucking god THANK YOU! these are literally my exact thoughts?! do you have any idea how hard it is to find fanfic that doesn't bash ron but is anti hermione? i don't hat her either and can sometimes enjoy her character but i get tired of the same thing over and over where ron is an evil bastard and hermione is everything good and pure in the world.

percy is the best hp character full stop.

I have several posts about my issues with the twins but it mostly boils down to them almost killing a classmate for a stupid reason and send him into catatonia.

HP characters I love but have no problem with people bashing them:

Harry Potter himself:

He can be painfully stupid a lot of the times, but gets bursts of intelligence every once in a while cause of plot reasons, can be quite insensitive, and can be pretty arrogant.

Hermione Granger:

She acts morally superior just because she reads more than others, she’s judgemental, close-minded, bitchy, and can do some EXTREMELY fucked up things. I think of her as completely grey when her character gets looked at objectively, because—unfortunately due to Harry being Mr. POV and Hermione being Rowling’s self-insert—many horrifying things she’s done get glossed over.

Draco Malfoy:

I do love him (he’s my 2nd favourite HP character) but there’s no denying that he was a blood-prejudiced bully who deserved a punch in the face, and I 100% understand why people dislike/hate him. I only like anti Draco content when it’s from Snape fans, other fans can be too much sometimes.

Ginny Weasley:

She was an absolute bitch in HBP! The way she treated Ron and Fleur made me wanna throat-punch her. Throughout HBP, she was horrible to him about both his insecurities with Quidditch and his insecurities with relationship experience—even when Ron was being overprotective when he saw her making out with Dean, he definitely did not deserve that.

Remus Lupin:

Remus and I… we have an odd relationship. I love Remus. I do… I really really do… but the things he does sometimes make me want to go “NYAHHHHHHHHHHHH” every time I reread the series. Most of his fans overlook his flaws, which is incredibly disappointing because I find his complexity and flaws extremely fascinating… that’s literally why I loved him in the first place. Even when criticising him, his fans still tend to gloss over the negative aspect(s) of his character. Unfortunately, I’m on the anti side when it comes to him, I only interact with his fans if they’re Remadora (and a lot of the times Prongsfoot) shippers.

I’m not gonna bash him or explain anymore cause it’s actually his birthday today and I only just remembered it a few minutes ago. I was actually planning on making an anti post about him today but then I remembered it was his birthday today and I just can’t do it. I love him too much to do that.😭😭 So yeah, you guys are gonna have to wait a few more days until I make an anti post about Remus, sorry not sorry.

Fred and George:

They were cruel bullies a lot of the times. Their flaws get overlooked by a majority of this fandom and they’re seen as harmless pranksters, which is rather irritating. They tried to lock Percy in cursed pyramid, which I’m pretty sure can count as attempted murder, and they gave Ron arachnophobia. The twins show a blatant disregard for people’s safety and well-being a lot of the times.

I’m gonna stop here and just say that: I’m alright with almost all HP characters being criticised and sometimes bashed. Every single HP character is problematic—besides Luna and Neville. There’s nothing wrong with pointing out their flaws. Over exaggerating their flaws? Yes, that’s wrong. But merely pointing them out? Nope.

HP characters I absolutely cannot STAND being bashed:

Ron Weasley:

Most of the things he did that he gets bashed for are completely normal for a teenager. I mean… making an ass of yourself during a party, getting mad at your friend(s) over silly things, dating someone you aren’t really interested in because you like the attention, getting jealous, saying mindless things without thinking it through etc etc. Those are teenage mistakes. That’s common teenage boy idiocy. This fandom excuses Draco and the Marauders’ heinous acts by claiming that “they were just teenagers🥺” but when Ron does things that are 100% normal and are done many times in real life, he gets demonised for it. Make it make sense people!

Percy Weasley:

How. Fucking. DARE. YOU. What did he even do?? His family (besides Molly) was horrible to him! He never bothered anyone and no one in his family gave a shit about him except when Gred and Feorge (not a mistake) treated him like crap. He deeply cared about Ginny and Ron, and Arthur didn’t even try to make things better despite them literally working at the same place. Let’s not forget that no one besides Molly bothered contacting him for years… and when there was a war going on. Upsetting Molly is literally the ONLY bad thing he ever did, other than that he never did nothing wrong.

Tom Riddle Sr:

He. Literally. Did. Nothing. Wrong. You guys are demonising him… because he “abandoned” his RAPIST? His R-A-P-I-S-T? Is this fandom fucking ill? He had every right to leave his son and Merope, he was raped… repeatedly… for months. The victim can never be blamed for not wanting to face the reminder of their trauma for the rest of their lives. He was kind to Cecelia and comforted her when she was shocked by Morfin’s dead snake. And the only people he was ever rude to were the Gaunts and they were pretty much insane. One called him “filthy” and one hexed him.
