Common rooms by Old Pottermore š
You know what Iāve just realised again after having watched the cuddle clip for the 5267391856th time:
One of the many reasons why I fell in love with skam so much when I first saw it is that it shows people in their purest form. They donāt cover up any āflawsā or āinsecuritiesā one might see in their skin. They embrace them. They leave the pimples, the acne, the moles, the birthmarks, the hair on their skins, all of it. Itās ok if you want to wear make-up because you just feel like it for you and not for anyone else and itās also ok if the concept of wearing make-up isnāt of any interest to you. These little bit significant things make the scenes and characters so much more authentic and realistic and you forget for a second that youāre watching a fictional story.Ā
When the characters wake up in the morning they actually look like theyāve just woken up. Bags under their eyes, messy hair without any product in it, no make-up, eyes can barely open, crinkles on their faces from the pillow and their faces just look like theyāve been squashed by a truck bc thatās reality thatās how itās supposed to be. No one in the history of humanity has ever woken up like they just had magical little helpers during the night working on it.Ā
Iām saying āflawsā and āinsecuritiesā bc in most of the stuff I saw when I was a teenager or still even in so many films and tv shows now they are viewed as flaws bc theyāre being covered up by this ton of make-up, so you canāt see any spots, any marks and anything that doesnāt look āsmoothā and āperfectā. And thatās just such a horrible portrayal of humans to put out there in the world?? Film and tv have such a huge impact on societal standards and values and how people view themselves that itās almost criminal to force such a wrong depiction of what youāre supposed to look like onto someone, especially when you have a younger/teenage audience.
And also wtf even is perfect in that sense, there is no such thing as perfection when it comes to something that is so unique in every single way. You canāt paint a picture of the ultimate perfection bc it doesnāt exist. There are infinite individual perfections for every single person bc we all view things in a different way.Ā
We are the same species but weāre all different. Everyone has different skin and itās so important to embrace that. How boring would it be if we all actually looked the same and had no individual traits that adorned our skins?Ā

Klaus yeeting a whole ass fire extinguisher at the giant dimensional blob in the sky, perfectly reflects how I deal with every single one of my problems.
I think I went a bit overboard with thisĀ (ā-āļ¼)

Steampunk without commentary on the exploitative machinations of imperialism is not steampunk.
Cyberpunk without commentary on capitalismās efforts to buy the world out from under us is not cyberpunk.
Solarpunk without commentary on how to grow a brighter future for everyone instead of submitting to gloom is not solarpunk.
These three make a trifecta of how capitalism took over, what can happen if it continues, and how to prevent it from doing so. What was, is, and still could be.
