Did My Very Tired Brain Suddenly Decide To Come Up With An In Transit Fanfiction Idea? Yes.

Did my very tired brain suddenly decide to come up with an In Transit fanfiction idea? Yes.

Will I actually write it? Also probably yes.

Will I release it for anyone to read? Idk, if people want me to then sure.

hi! i loved the in transit fics that you wrote! i'd love (if you're still taking requests) a fic with langley in it? i care her even if she's evil :')

I personally love Langley (VA - @dancingdreamer) as a character - she's written very well for in the show haha.

Thank you for my first request! Requests are very much still open if anyone has them!

Now without further ado, let's get on with the latest @intransitpodcast fanfiction!

Stand Down

It was finally over. They’d saved everyone.

Cairo and Ziggy walked the now denounced Faraday to a cell as he struggled against them, while everyone else prepared for the coming events. Everything was happening so quickly. Sputnik was finishing up repairs on the ship with a small army of engineers at their side, and Ei helped supervise progress while Alnitak tended to injuries sustained during the takeover, bandaging Halley’s broken arm ignoring her insistence that she was fine. Sawyer and Alecto were preparing to have Alecto sworn in as commander, with Solea helping them follow the official rulings on how to swear her in. After everything that had happened, Alecto didn’t want to take any chances.

Once everything was ready Alecto allowed herself to relax slightly, letting it all sink in as she mentally prepared herself to become the new commander of Eurus, and acting commander of Notos. She took a deep breath and pushed her shoulders down, a small smile lacing her features before she heard the cock of a gun, and her blood ran cold.

“Stand down Alecto” Solea commanded, her steady hand pointing the gun directly at the back of Alecto’s head.

“Langley, what are you-” Sawyer started before Solea cut him off again.

“Stand down, and surrender your power to me,”

“Why are you doing this?” Alecto asked, trying not to demonstrate her fear, her voice betraying her as her tone became slightly shaky.

“What, you thought I wouldn’t take my only chance to get back into a position of power? Don’t be stupid Alecto.”

“But you would have power with us, we agreed on running the ship together,”

“You agreed, I don’t recall agreeing to anything beyond getting rid of Faraday from his position of command.”

“Why would you risk this?” Alecto began, her voice stronger than before. “You’ve completely lost the trust of the people and put yourself in a worse position by killing me.”

“People forget.” Langley started, a slow, snide, and calculating tone lacing her voice “and after what Faraday did, I can’t imagine it would be hard to overlook some minor flaws.”

“Minor?” Sawyer interrupted, his tone anguished “People won’t forget you killed their friends and family, we won’t forget you murdered Lyra.”

“Careful.” Solea said, pressing the gun into the back of Alecto’s head “Wouldn’t want me to accidentally fire now, would we Rosario.”

“You wouldn’t.”

“Really?” She asked rhetorically, knowing her finger on the trigger was enough to show the true answer. “Enlighten me to why?” she continued, with Sawyer offering no response other than a shaky breath as he frantically scanned the room for a way out of the situation.

“Exactly.” She finished, keeping the gun trained at the back of Alecto’s head.

“What do you gain by killing me?” Alecto questioned, wanting to gain any information that could save her.

“No one left to stand in my way,” She answered simply, “What? Do you really think that Flovent boy will get far without you? We’ve seen what happens when he tries to take action on his own. Even that pretty little boyfriend of his couldn’t stop him from getting his hand cut off.”

“His name is Cairo,” Sawyer said shakily “and that wasn’t Alnitak’s fault.”

“Do you really think that’s what you should be caring about right now? I have your friend at gunpoint and that’s what you focus on.” She said, disbelief lacing her voice “God you really are useless, it’s a wonder you even got this far,”

“What do you want from me,” Alecto cut in “My power for my life?”

“That’s exactly what I want.” Solea responded, “I’ll get it either way, but the method I use depends on how you respond, Alecto.”

“What makes you think you can do any better than Faraday? He had his entire ship under his control and he still couldn’t stop us.”

“I’ve learnt from his mistakes, Alecto. Amos was arrogant, he missed the blatant flaws in his ideas, only focusing on what benefited him rather than the full result of his actions, even when that assistant of his spelled it out for him. The man was far from paranoid of course, but a bit of paranoia makes for a good leader, something I, myself, lacked during my time as commander. Paranoia allows you to prepare for every eventuality, which is something being around him taught me, and something you still have left to learn Alecto. You let your guard down.”

“Because I thought this was over.” Alecto shot back “I thought we were done with this.”

“It will never be done Alecto. You made the naive decision to believe you were safe, and that nothing could get to you, but this whole thing will never be over.” Solea began, readying her finger on the trigger. “Now, do you surrender your position as Commander?”

“I will never surrender my position to you.”

“Then you’re of no use to me.”

This is me on the daily

It’s not “wearing a suit to a job interview” it’s “Cosplaying OW in a professional setting.”

This is very much an accurate way to describe OW

OK so I've currently got two more ideas for @intransitpodcast fanfictions (in addition to the one I've already posted) and I'm wondering whether I do the sad one, or the really soft one.

Also totally willing to take requests for writing podcast fanfictions if people have them (if people are interested I'll post a list of the podcasts I've listened to)

something I love about Sherlock & co is that you don’t doubt the love that Sherlock and John have for each other. Not even in a romantic way, they love each other clearly, and while I love jonklock/johnlock, I’m totally fine if they aren’t canon in this rendition because it’s clear that they care for each other

@intransitpodcast

Another In Transit Fanfiction, but much more depressing this time since @opphiem chose the sad one for the next one released.

I have a couple more ideas, but if anyone has any requests that would be greatly appreciated.

Trigger warnings:

- Murder (Both implied and shown)

- Mention of blood

Balanced, as all things should be

Cairo looked down at his hand and immediately froze up. Every muscle in his body tensed as he tried to process what was happening, the deep, glistening blood, running off his fingers as he took a shaky breath.

Their blood.

Tears started to stream down Cairo’s face as he shot into action, grabbing their body, moving it up on to him as he tried to keep them safe.

“Ziggy, come on man this isn’t funny,” he choked out between tears. “You need to get up ok, you need to be alright. Who else is going to stop me from doing stupid shit if you’re not around,” he continued, letting out a pained laugh. “Exactly,” He responded, taking the silence as their answer. “So you need to get up Zigs, ok. You need to get up now.”

“Cairo what’s happening, we heard a gunshot and-” Sawyer began from the doorway, stiffening at the sight of Ziggy’s body as Alnitak came round the corner behind him.

Alnitak rushed towards the body, analysing the situation as he placed his fingers on Ziggy’s neck, finding only a faint pulse.

“We need to bind the wound,” Al muttered to himself, scanning the room for any fabric that could be used to stem the flow of blood.

“Sawyer, your jacket,” Al said, breaking Sawyer out of his frozen state with a start.

“My- my what?”

“Your jacket,” Al reiterated with a more tense tone as Sawyer ran over to be beside them, removing his jacket and passing it to Alnitak who quickly began to wrap it around Ziggy’s waist to block the bullet wound.

“What happened?” Sawyer asked, completely unsure of what to do with himself in the situation.

“Faraday happened.” Cairo responded coldly. “Fucking rat bastard has to win every time, no matter the cost,” Cairo continued bitterly, trying to stop more tears flowing down his face.

“Will they be ok, Alnitak?” Sawyer said in a softer voice afraid of the answer. Al looked down slightly and paused.

“I don’t know.”

“What do you mean you don’t know Al?” Cairo asked, his voice breaking slightly as his emotions began to overflow. “You have to know, you’re the doctor,”

“I said I don’t know Cairo,” Alnitak responded, more harshly than he intended,  “and I won’t know until we can get them back to my room.”

“Please Al,” Cairo said, his tone of voice completely broken, “I can’t lose them, they’re my best friend Al, I don’t know what I’d do without them.”

Alnitak took a shaky breath in and nodded.

“I’ll do what I can.”

The next thing they knew they were all carrying Ziggy’s lifeless body down the corridors and into the medical area, the three managing to avoid people as they went. Alnitak took them straight through to the operating room, alerting several doctors as he went, leaving Sawyer and Cairo waiting outside, forced out of the room, protesting as Ziggy was taken away from them.

So they waited.

Hours had passed since they had heard anything. The pair sat in complete silence as Sawyer held Cairo in his arms, desperately trying to think of something better to say than the “We did all we could Cairo,” that he had said over half an hour ago. Cairo gripped onto Sawyer tightly, burying his head into Sawyer’s chest as he cried, his grip not loosening until he passed out from exhaustion, as he tried desperately to hold on to something that was real, and someone he knew wasn’t leaving him as the situation continued to overwhelm him.

After 8 hours, Alnitak finally stepped out of the surgery room, letting out a shaky breath as he went to face Sawyer and Cairo. As soon as the door opened, Sawyer shook Cairo awake, knowing he’d want to hear the news no matter what state he was in.

Al found himself at a loss for words, not knowing how to convey what had happened, not wanting to even believe it had happened himself, and solemnly shook his head.

“Oh god,” Sawyer said, trying to fight back the tears welling up in his eyes, looking down as he tried to stop the emotions taking over.

Cairo rose from his seat, and without another word, stepped out of the room, anger fueling him as he walked down the corridor with an oddly calm air about him.

“Cairo!” Alnitak called out, going to follow after him before Sawyer’s arm stopped him.

“Let him go,” Sawyer told him quietly, “I think he needs to be alone right now.”

“Ah, Cairo, what a pleasant surprise,” Faraday began, as Cairo stepped into his office.

“Put your hands up and get on the ground,” Cairo said stiffly, pointing the gun at Faraday’s chest.

“Now now Cairo, let’s not be too hasty-”

“I said get on the fucking ground.” Cairo spat, as Faraday moved onto his knees, holding his hands up cautiously.

“Come on Cairo, think about this for a second,” Faraday began, his usual calm and controlled tone lacing his voice as he attempted to talk Cairo down. “Killing me won’t do anything to bring that friend of yours back.”

“Their name was Ziggy.” Cairo shot back harshly, his hand shaking as he held the gun up to Faraday’s head. “And I know it won’t bring them back.”

“Exactly Cairo,” Faraday began, his twisted tone continuing as he tried to take control of the situation. “And I can’t imagine that Ziggy would want you to do this, Cairo. They’d want you to move on.”

“Bullshit,” He responded, gripping the gun tightly in his hand. “No, this is exactly what they’d want me to do.” He continued, his tone getting more controlled as the blinding range took complete control of his actions. “You took away the only person who could stop me from doing this to you.” He cocked the gun, and took in a shaky breath, tears rolling down his cheeks. “The only person who has always been there for me. And now I need to make sure you can’t do it again.”

His finger closed on the trigger.

Cairo let the gun drop alongside the lifeless corpse and stepped out of the room calmly, his footsteps echoing along the empty corridors, as exhaustion seeped into his body.

Balanced, as all things should be.

Guess who has almost finished the initially planned in transit fanfiction...and maybe I had two more ideas along the way for others (one of which happens to be based on one of the two new episode titles)

One is a Cairo x Al sick fic, the other is a Solea x Penelope fic, set long before the events in the first season

Which one do people want first?

"Charlotte is my friend."
