reblog if you believe fanfics are as valid as books that were published and sold by authors who write as their main careers. I'm trying to prove a point
He was deeply human. Not immortal like Legolas. Not immune to the allure of the ring like Gimli. He doesn't possess Gandalf's wisdom or the innocence of Merry and Pippin. He had a Sam-like loyalty in him, but he didn't grow up with a Frodo to be loyal to in his formative years, and so he learned to be loyal to himself. Nobody handed him a quest, a divine task to fulfill like Frodo. He didn't know the love of a good dad. His honor was never hailed like Aragorn's. If he displayed goodness and kindness in his childhood, it was never praised, only disparaged as a weakness. His father valued him, yes, but never as a person or a son, only as a trophy, a marker of success. He made real mistakes, succumbed to the draw of the ring.
Even so, he came to love and care for the hobbits with the kind of love he needed so deeply and never got from Denethor. He came to love Aragorn as a brother even though he would never be as widely beloved and his heroism never as widely known. He recognized his mistake, and he lamented it. And when the moment came at which it most counted, he sacrificed all of himself to protect the hobbits, to fulfill his duty and right his mistake, but most of all because he loved them. And they loved him too, enough to hurl themselves at the orcs even though they were hobbits of The Shire.
Boromir was defined not by his swipe for the ring's power, but by this love and heroism. And in his dying moments, Aragorn made sure that Boromir knew that his honor was as true as that of Aragorn himself.
They're fooling around drunk, Simon's hand stroking the Scotsman's cock as his other hand holds him firmly at the back of his neck. Scuffing him like a mutt. He doesn't think much about what he's saying, attention focused on Johnny as the sergeant tries to keep his moaning quiet.
"If you cum on my hand, I'll make you lick it clean, pup."
The downright pathetic groan that leaves Johnny's lips as his hips buck up to meet Simon's hand, coating his hand in cum is music to his fucking ears.
The next time he gets his hand on Johnny's cock, he isn't stopping until he yips like the brainless puppy he is.
Hello! I have never written any of this shit down before, or posted! So here we go, its gonna be gargabe. But its my garbage so who cares?
Anyway!
Some Cod character headcannons
Simon definently has some crazy good hygiene when off the field. Can tell you first hand that some people who grew up dirt poor hate smelling bad. Simon is one of them. He has a full shower care routine, complete with exfoliating. Skincare too, he knows what that mask could do to his skin. Its almost meditative I think. A way to wind down after missions, to ground himself.
Price who was raised in a tough household. Not abusive, or so he says, just chaotic. A constantly working father, and a mess of a mother. Younger siblings, trying to be a parent while needing one himself. It gave him one hell of a need for control, and an outlet for frustration. He left to join the military, and never looked back. Still checks in on his baby siblings from time to time, but his parents are dead to him for reasons even he doesn't want to remember. It bleeds over into how he takes care of the 141, and how well he takes orders. He craves the rigidity, and the knowledge that somone else will always at least have a plan or orders for him, something he never got as a kid.
Johnny has a fascination with soft, cozy things. After he was allowed to get an apartment and live off base, his family, mainly his mother, sisters, and grandma, helped him decorsate. The place is full of old blankets, soft pillows, and a couple old childhood stuffed animals. It may seem out of character, but this man was not raised to reject much needed comfort out of a fucked sense of masculinity. You think he cares about getting made fun of? Look at that fuckass mohawk. He does not care.
Gaz who is always, always lonely when not on a mission or on base. Sure, he has friends from before he joined up, but theres a disconnect now. A chasm that can never be crossed created by the horrors he's seen and done. He has plenty of one night stands, but never sticks around. A smaller family, and he has a hard time keeping in touch. Just lonely. Eventually he caves and goes to a veterans support group, full of old men doing various crafts and activities. He is by far the youngest one there, but he finds himself enjoying it. Gets adopted by almost all of them. And he finds that they understand very well what he is going through. Afterall, they went through it too. Price doesn't question later how Gaz knows exactly how to fix a wobbly chair using only glue and some paper, but he is glad that his soldier seems a bit happier and coping better.
this always happens btw.
frodoiii from the perspective of sams lovin eyes
I like how everyone in LotR tumblr is being all euphemistic and vague about their aesthetic complaints with Rings of Power speaking about immersion and how the short hair is ruining the experience instead of just saying what they mean
They made Elrond unfuckable and it sucks
Sketches. I love to draw Price and Nikolai, something needs to be done about it..
Hello! More headcannons! I am having lots of fun <3 kinda got a bit angsty oops
Anyway!
Have some lightly angsty cod headcanons!
Simon has a love hate relationship with cigarettes. Sure, they help him relax. But he hates them. The smell, the bite they take out of his bank account, how they make his teeth worse. He isn't a self destructive angsty teen anymore. So! He decides to quit. Tries his hardest to do it quietly, but the rest of the team notices quick. He chews a lot of gum because he scoffs at the stupid nicotine patches. Goes cold turkey, because he doesn't do things in half measures. Sure, he was grumpy as hell for the first few months, but after a while he notices how he's struggling less. Doesn't preassure anyone else to quit. Just wasn't for him, he says. He keeps chewing the gum though. Just ate mint and cinnamon when he first quit, but he branched out eventually. Likes watermelon the best now.
Johnny is an artist. It's canon, we all know that. I propose a Johnny who volunteers as a muralist when on leave. Goes around, painting walls anywhere he's asked. Hospitals, subways, schools, homeless shelters, bridges, ect. His family helps send jobs his way. He tells himself that it's just to help out. Just to practice and add to the community, have fun with a different medium. Won't tell himself that its a way to make sure he's remembered for anything besides the things he did while deployed. Does he regret those things? Hell no. But does he need to be more than just a soldier? Hell yes.
Price who doesn't have a life outside of the military. Gaz has his support group, Soap has his hobbies, Simon does...whatever the hell he does. Price has nothing. On the way to becoming everything he thought he needed to be, he forgot to be anyone besides the Captain. He pretends it doesn't bother him. And it doesn't, at least, not in a debilitating way. But it shows in the little things. How he always stays late doing work, checking on the wounded, helping out. Pretends it isn't him avoiding his empty apartment. His empty life outside of the military, his boys.
Gaz goes to therapy at the behest of his mom. He checks it off like it was just another box. He pretends at all the progress he's making, hiding how everytime he goes in he goes into the mindset of an interrogation. Let them know nothing, deflect and distract. Lets the therapist think he's a good patient. Talking about his "regrets", the horrors on the field, the nightmares. He does the actual coping later. Journals, then burns them. No loose ends. Writes down everything. The things on the field, how he doesn't- can't- regret a damn thing. Just that he didn't do better. He's suprised when later, after a mission, he's using the breathing exercises the therapist taught him. Maybe it wasn't all pretend afterall.
Tolkien at the start of the Hobbit: oh I’m going to tell a fun little story for my children about how even the smallest people can make a difference!
Tolkien at the end of the Hobbit, gripping his son’s shoulders intensely: Chris. Christopher. Listen. Greed will only corrupt you Christopher, it will twist your mind like a poison, like a disease, until you are nothing but a hollow wreck of what you once were. Also I’ve killed off like half the characters in a battle I don’t even show sorry.
elrond: must you always attack me with words? durin: you want me to use rocks??
haha knives am i right? age: can join the military, cant legally drink
