Yes Dilla is blind, she and her twin brother Ballard were born blind and had to train hard to sharpen their other senses so they could survive and thrive as part of the Omatikaya clan.

Her eyes are also something we have chosen to keep from her original design to this Avatar AU. In our original story she's a Tribal Galhot, a fantasy race of people who are all blind but with very developed hearing and other senses:

Mine just come from the way they are in the book, and think like- oh, yeah they’d definitely do this- for example: I headcanon that the way Sylvia cheated on Dallas, Dallas probably also cheated on Sylvia because when pony and Johnny needed help after killing Bob, pony assumed he was sleeping with a girl when they got to bucks, after dally told him that he had been in the bedroom- to which Dally laughed it off and said “not like that, kid”, implying that he had slept with another girl there before, or that bucks was a common place to do so; that’s how I do it, at least¯\_(ツ)_/¯

We’re fucked- I don’t post often here anymore but I’m scared that this rapist, racist, homophobic, felon of a waste of human life is president again; this means one of three things: 1) we are in danger, 2) any and every openly LGBT person is in danger, and 3) we’re probably gonna go into World War III because of one of his tweets can almost start it, then I know for damn sure that it’s gonna happen now.

We need to stay safe, and if it means going low key for the next four years or constantly providing a safe space for everyone like me to vent then I will do both.

Those who are struggling or need someone to talk to, my DMs are always open. Anyone who abuses this- any sort of harassment- will be blocked and reported.
