Darry would be distraught. I honestly think he would attempt to end his own life because 1. now he doesn’t have anybody left besides him and Soda and 2. He was the one who made Pony run off. He would never forgive himself even if it technically wasn’t his fault the Socs drowned him

Soda would honestly never smile again. He holds his baby brother dear to his heart and losing him would completely shatter him, especially on top of Sandy leaving and his parents dying. He would never get out of bed. Never eat. Never sleep. Because he stares at the empty side of the bed where Pony was and just breaks down.

Johnny would 100% blame himself. He thinks he wasn’t fast enough and that’s why he died. He never goes to the Curtis house-he can’t out of pure shame. He avoids Soda and Darry and just stays at the lot. He would probably get into bad habits too-alcohol, drugs, you name it. He doesn’t care. Dally’s the only one who can snap him out of wasting his life away but even Dally can’t bring himself to

Dally would be so angry. He would probably kill the two Socs. Like actually kill them. He’s take Buck’s gun and end up in prison for life, or maybe he would even receive the death sentence. If it was the latter he would be fine with it. He doesn’t see a reason to live other than Johnny after that since Pony is considered to be his younger brother. His last words would be “do it for Pony”

Two Bit would probably hang around the Curtis home a lot more, but he would lose his spark. He’d lose what made him Two Bit. He wouldn’t make any more jokes. He’s honestly probably just drink and eat cake all day and maybe he would even just have a mental breakdown where he does something stupid. Regardless things aren’t looking good for him.

Steve is a bit more difficult. While he wasn’t fond of Pony he will not forgive the Socs for what they did to him, to Pony, or to Soda. He would be so pissed and honestly just vengeful. He would encourage Dally to go after the Socs honestly. He would go after them and absolutely jump them with Soda and beat their faces in. It would not end well.

Dallas Mother-Fucking Tucker Winston and no one can tell, convince, or compel me otherwise I love him, I love his character, I love the way he was in the book, I love his actor in the movie, I love his hair, I love his face, even though to others he looks like- and has the temperament of- an albino sewer rat i love him, I love how he asked if pony was ok after he got jumped, I love the fact that cherry stood her ground against him at the drive in and he stormed off instead of making a scene, I love the way he treated Johnny and how he cared so much about Johnny and looked out for him and pony when they killed Bob, I love how he was shirtless when pony and Johnny found him at bucks, I love when he gave them the money and the gun and the jacket and the church to stay at, I love how he went to go get them after a week and how he had colorless stubble on his face when he got them and called ponyboy sleeping beauty when he woke him up and I love when he saved Johnny from the burning church and burnt his arm the fuck up in the process to save pony and Johnny I love how he threatened to kill pony when he was in the hospital if he ever pulled a stunt like that again and I love how he asked for two-bit’s switchblade and used it to get out of the hospital to fight in the rumble because a rumble wasn’t a rumble without him and how he flipped the soc in the movie and dragged pony into the car to go see Johnny for the last time even though he didn’t want it to be and I love how he said “dammit Johnny…oh dammit Johnny don’t die, please don’t die” and ran out of the room and robbed the gas station and got shot by the cops and how he had a look of grim triumph on his face and how he was dead before he hit the ground so he didn’t have to be in any more pain than he had to be and that he got to be with Johnny in the end and that they were able to watch over ponyboy and the rest of the gang from beyond and I just love Dallas Mother-Fucking Tucker Winston.
