Idk the undertones of him saying “it just needs to last long enough” and him not simply retreating to regroup to get what he wanted just seemed…fatalistic.

Like after episode 6 it just felt like he was ready to write off all the atrocities he was about to do because he would either off himself or die shortly after completing his mission… like his artificial heart wasn’t a long term solution..
