I made a post about male suicide a while back and got a lot of shit.
I just wanted to tell you that a friend of mine works for Samaritan health service for their suicide hotline. She told me a 'funny' story.
The majority of her time is spent screening and blocking phone numbers so that the lines are free for people who need help. Why does she have to do this ? Hundreds of times a day men would call up while masturbating, of course they would only stay on the line if the operator was female, which the majority are.
Men have always taken advantage of women's kindness and they always will. It is not our job.
women are on twitter defending that smallville guy and saying there's nothing wrong with the way he aged but if he were a woman there would be a zillion different posts about how women hit the wall once they're out of their twenties
I think public harassment of ugly women by men needs to be talked about seriously as a form of gender-based harassment just like more stereotypical sexualized cat-calling, as someone who has somehow experienced both lol, they both damaged my self-esteem just in different ways. I feel like people incl some feminists'don't want to acknowledge how much outright harassment unattractive women can face, like "unattractive women are invisible / ignored" isn't always unrue but it's not the whole story,
real! i feel like feminists are sometimes unwilling to acknowledge the shit faced by women who are not conventionally attractive bc they don’t wanna say anyone is ugly, but it is true that “ugly” women, especially fat women, face a unique type of bullshit and harassment that attractive women don’t. i recently saw an insta reel by a fat but otherwise not ugly woman about how terribly men treat women they don’t find attractive and the comments were full of men saying the most vile shit.

a 30 yesr old woman named Adriana Smith in georgia is being kept alive despite being brain-dead, so that she can continue to grow the fetus inside of her. and it's because of georgias abortion laws.
it's extremely distressing to her family, seeing her lifeless, but forced to go on because of abortion bans. she has another young child, and her family just has to tell him that's she's sleeping.
this woman is an incubator to the state of georgia. the child has fluid on the brain, and will most likely never walk or eat, if it even survives.
they're also forcing Smith's family to pay the medical bills to keep the fetus alive
"Research... tells us over and over that when men kill their female partners or ex-partners, it usually follows months or years of abusing her. On the other hand, when women kill their husbands or exes, it's usually after months or years of having been abused by the man they have killed." - Kerry Daynes, The Dark Side of the Mind
One person was banned almost immediately.
The other person was not banned until they made another post revealing that they were posting videos of their partner.
One person was harassed and bullied and told that they were lying.
One person was given advice, told about how they could improve their situation.
This is why kink is not safe. There is more compassion and kindness for someone who admits to wanting to kick their partner in the face than there is for someone who has received that treatment.

they say they love insects but they hate wasps and mosquitoes
"TERF bangs" "Karen haircut" "She/they mullet" "Mormon wife balayage" "Bald bitch" "Hard wig" "Blue haired liberal"
this has very little to do with actual hair and you know it.
Do you engage with commentary by sex workers at all, including those who advocate for decriminalization or who aren't activists but oppose their clients being criminalized regardless? It seems to me that your concerns are for women generally, because you falsely believe that decriminalizing sex work would lead to further misogyny by validating the purchase of sex, but that you don't seem aware of what sex workers think and feel about the subject at all.
When you're speaking over a marginalized group and insisting you know better, that tells me you don't value their opinions or see them as worthy of listening to.

Yes, and I disagree. I’ve read and listened to plenty of sex workers who argue for full decriminalization. I still fundamentally disagree. That disagreement doesn’t come from ignorance, it comes from looking at the broader consequences. And as it turns out, many current and former sex workers agree with me. Do you 🫵🏾 listen to them?

I’m very aware of what pro-decriminalization sex workers say. Sex workers can be wrong. Being directly involved in a system doesn’t mean you automatically have the clearest view of its harms.
Also, "falsely"? Wdym "falsely"? How can validating purchasing sexual access to women not lead to further misogyny, a cornerstone of which is male access to and control over women's sexuality?
When you're speaking over a marginalized group and insisting you know better, that tells me you don't value their opinions or see them as worthy of listening to.
The opinions of pro sex work workers are not more or less valuable than anti sex work workers. I take issue with the idea that disagreement equals dismissal. I’ve listened. I’ve read the arguments. I still believe the normalization of sex work hurts women and that includes the women working in the industry. I am not obligated to fall behind a line of thinking just because a particular person is saying it.
In conclusion, feminism isn't a girl's club. It isn't here to support anything a woman does. It's about female liberation, and that doesn't change because some of the people working against our liberation are also women. There are pro-life women too. There are anti-suffragette women too. Why don't we listen to and validate them as well?
It is not more feminist to align with pro sex work rhetoric simply because a sex worker asked you to. Not everything a woman does is feminist. not even everything a feminist does is feminist. we can't advance if we're too busy coddling and "listening" and being too afraid to question.
I was watching a documentary called the “State of Alabama vs. Brittany Smith”. It’s about a woman who killed her rapist (who, at the time of his slaying, had her brother in a chokehold). Something in it stuck with me.
When the prosecutor was speaking to her, he asked something along the line of, “Did the [perpetrator] have any visible weapons on him?”
She responded with, “His hands.”
Then he asks again, “Did the [perpetrator] have any-“”
She interrupts him and says, “His penis.”
He speaks again and then she says, “His mouth.”
It just stuck with me because…it’s so right. Men’s hands, especially men’s penises, their mouths, their whole bodies, are weapons, especially towards women. Men are significantly stronger than women physically and yeah, that matters. A woman has no or very little chance of physically defending herself against a male without a weapon, and even that’s very risky depending on the laws in your country. Men use their bodies to hit women, punch women, slap women, rape women, violate women in ways almost incomparable to when used against other men.
Considering how men view women, how they view themselves, how they view masculinity, how they view sex, women and girls have every right to be cautious around men and “picky” about the ones they have in their lives.
I’m not interested in a world where men really want to watch porn but resist because they’ve been shamed; I’m interested in a world where men are raised from birth with such an unshakable understanding of women as living human beings that they are incapable of being aroused by their exploitation.
Tfw when men do that thing where they pretend they have no control over their temper. LOL It’s so funny like am I supposed to pretend that I don’t know you’re completely self-aware and present during this rage performance. Or should I pretend you’re the tortured hero in a movie, possessed by a series of fabricated flashbacks of the war and your father
the greatest skill a woman can learn for herself is self reliance
this website’s attitude toward gender non-conforming children and its universal insistence that boys who wear skirts aren’t really boys and girls who like short hair and non-feminine colors aren’t really girls is SO primitive and harmful.
how is ~othering~ children who don’t meet your performance standards for their sex NOT reinforcing oppressive patriarchal gender roles and expectations?
original tiktok post (go support the og)
her name is adriana smith. she's been legally dead for 7 months and her body is being used as an incubator. shes been in a vegetative state and her body, without her consent, has been being used as an incubator for 30 weeks, 7 months now.
she died from medical neglect. and for those that say "it's for the baby", the baby isn't expected to live through childbirth, even before adriana died. her family will probably have to pay the medical bills (and likely funeral costs for both adriana and the child).
adriana needed a life saving surgery, but the doctors were more worried about a baby that wouldn't even make it more than the woman who was already alive.
