people need to stop acting like Aang didnt treat Tenzin as his clear favorite and lowkey try to abandon the others. Aang is my favorite in atla and honestly it gives him layers that he was like this. kpop wasn't only meant to be ear candy and nice dances it was to keep the youth trusting the people in power and focused on idols rather than what was going in the country like crazy work hours, chaebols and unfair imbalance of power. Being that there is an american military base in seoul for decades no korean could go inside its clear its deeper than any individuals preferences.

Also take into consideration many trainees are underage, threatened with being kicked out if they are caught dating the opposite gender, watched by managers and staff 24/7 kept away from their parents, most have about a 6th grade education because they spent a majority of their time training. Insiders and fans have caught physical abuse on camera, idols have spoken out about being severely scolded as trainee's, bullied by grown adults for looks, weight, acne, social status and if that isn't a recipe for dissociation they also give the idols different names for their fans to call them that they must answer to. So if all that isn't proof enough that the yaoi culture kpop thrives off of is not about love at all but about psychological manipulation fr its very roots idk what else I can say. But really idc what people believe but don't act like the company is against your ship they groom those boys and girls in every sense of the word. Male western popstars date and marry and still have a career but kpop idols gotta fight to stay alive even if they have western fans. Fandoms aren't full of sherlock holmes they purposely put clues for ships if you didn't notice. The national enquire alone has five years of stories planned for all major celebs korea is no different. Sometimes when celebs speak our about companies they will purposely make fanservice happen to distract everyone. Its not just jenkai yall im so sorry, its every ship everywhere all at once.

I miss super m because all there personalities clashed in the best way, there was tension, drama, suspense, they all triggered eachother constantly it was beautiful. 

I literally don’t even care that everyone hated it. It reminded me of one d because at least in america and the west they were allowed to clash and not think of how fans would take what they said. They could be a bit more rough around the edges and bicker. Honestly I didn’t wasn’t even aware of them for like the first year I was kinda late but I was able to watch there first year content without the feeling of second hand embarrassment cause it was all over. But I was surprised it wasn’t that bad and I wish they would of done more promo in america but the timing was off. 

From what I can tell at least Kai got to finally dance at full capacity and actually had people to compete against. I want to make a large post because I think a lotta people actually didn’t pay attention to how much interesting stuff occured in super m. Unlike with exo and nct the members didn’t have to worry about longterm fans. All super m fans were basically solo fans and they weren’t necessarily there for shipping or who they think the members were but moreso because they wanted something new. Their favorite artists able to stretch their wings and be less of a team and more individuals who happened to be in a group.

It reminded me more of how old jpop groups were, more boyish and brash and rough around the edges. A bigger focus on platonic male bonding rather than hardcore serious storyline shipping. It was so beautiful. 

But I have so many thoughts on super m. I feel like if I keep talking about them enough the universe will finally give me that netflix docu about them I’ve been waiting for. I think they have potential, at least for a few albums and then a good world tour. Honestly I’d like if some of the members retired with super m rather than their own groups which tbh couldn’t handle any big comebacks or worldtours. 

I already know the new sm boygroup is just to introduce probably one or two artists who will eventually be put into the new version of super m to replace lucas and probably baekyun because I doubt they’ll let him be leader after he sued. 

I may check out the new nct docu but idk like disney plus wtf, sounds right up sm’s alley but I didn’t think 3.0 sm was going kid friendly but it is more marketable and they’ve been courting disney for years.

I'm tired of this, a lil whitewashing is still too much hollywood is suddenly caring about talent and ability whenever it comes to accurately casting poc characters. They are allergic to casting fully ethic people. I hate it cause I love the show so much but how is this better than what m night did? I am older and have higher standards than i did as a kid until people stop feeding into pandering and giving in whenever there's a few characters appropriately casted they will keep poc's as the side characters villains and continue to cast lighter skinned people as the heros and darker more ethnic people as the villain. Like netflix always takes a huge L when it comes to that, they only cast correct when they cater to specific audiences and usually there is some objectification they are becoming the new disney for me. Urban on the weekends suburbs monday through through friday. Which is cool but why adapt something based on ancient asia if you don't want to cast as accurate as possible. It's not too hard they just have an agenda to push. I've given up on conglomerate companies ever doing the right thing it will always be a catch. Nothing I can do but I can just start ignoring it cause they aren't trying as hard as they say they are. Flashback to everyone bullying the girl who wanted to be katara, its colorism and its ugly and being that this is the second time this has happened I feel like maybe it was the intentiom all along to create a series built of asian mythology to have a cast full of lighter skinned characters play the heros and the most ethic people in the cast are the villains...like I'm greatful for the message of the show but I'm saddened there was never any intention to bring people who it belongs to into the fold. The intention should be for young children all around the world to look and see that darker skinned heros exist all over the world and don't exist only in one racial group. I'm glad they are confronting the gender imbalance present in the show and taking the focus off romance though. Netflix makes too much money for this though. Hollywood makes too much money for this. It's also about colonialsm but I'm guessing they will try and tone that message down because most of hollywood money is ran off of colonialism.

M night shamalan casting the fire nation colonist as indian when india was colonized by great britan makes it clear whoever is funding these movies don't want kids seeing citizens of countries that actually actively colonized various parts of the world as villains. But they will happily cast imperialist china and japan as the villain something they have always been happy to do to take the heat off of them. Which seems to be why the fire nation actors are clearly ethinically asian while the heros are ambigious looking.

Dune is another movie doing a very similar thing but thats so borijg I don't even care to talk about it.

Its very strategic and personally I love blind casting but its clear its only blind when its convient.

kpop doesn't deserve him. The lack of promotion is scandalous seriously. He got a genuine hit with basically no budget, and it kept growing after the promotion cycle. Personally I think the audience is partially to blame. Companies think the worst of attention spans because it's been proven people are fighting with goldfish to see who's memory lasts longer. People are barely winning. Personally rover wasn't my cup of tea, but aside from that I see no reason why it wasn't taken further. The obsession fans have with a full group comeback is nonsense. If he would of been given more time to work on his own album and not have to do a total rush job in order to make time for an album that quite frankly couldn't make numbers or bring in any new fans is ridiculous. The artistic direction Jongin goes in works for the times we are in. In an era where even the president of big hit admits kpop is declining fans still are stubborn and swear it's not true. J's a model, an influencer and could potentially be an international socialite. As laughable as that sounds to most fans who pay no attention to the outside world and only care for korean standards, it's true. He has an will always have great potential. Whether people want to accept that or not, he does. But squandering it for meager things like exo fancams going viral and having your faves together to me is a mistake. I believe he made it clear a while back he wants to do his own thing. I believe s.m will let exo go over their dead bodies. They will never give the group name and music away. Especially after so many artists are trying to leave. There is so much more to the story than people know.

I love healthy male bonding it's great, but people take it way too far. It's not high school, they don't live in a dorm, they aren't middle schoolers. They have lives outside of kpop. They know other people. Everyone only clings onto the ships s.m shoves in their face is because it gives them peace. It's a huge world, half of them aren't introverts, they aren't shy, they live full lives that you and nobody else is privy to. Ships are just a comfort so fans think they know who they are with and what they are doing. But I promise you do not. And I don't even hate friendshipping it's fine, enjoy fandom stuff. I really don't mind it, the content isn't innately evil, but it's the mindset it creates, especially when you bring babyfied thinking into serious conversations. Discussing somebody's racist colorist ass comments aren't coming for a ship, and using a ship to shield someone from criticism is disgusting, that's the real truth everybody conveinently leaves out. And if the response is oh well they said this or did that, another time, it's like the point is completely missed. It's not about hiding nobody else's shit it's about acknowledging all of it and not pretending none of it matters.They use the ships to hide shady stuff that was said and done and it's sick.
