because pregnancy was actually the least of what could of happened. Getting older and understanding the human body and basic biology she could of died in multiple ways and experienced brutal pain. It was only stephanie being committed to making edward not the villain that made their honeymoon romantic. If twilight had been a slightly more realistic movie it would not be a romance.
I wish kpop fans would be just as concerned about kpop artists hygeine who still have 10 layers of makeup on when they go to sleep so they can rush to their next schedule first thing in the morning. You know I never thought about it before but people only tease nice people who never do or say anything. I just leave people alone when I don't care about them, but somehow there's this weird obsession to publically humiliate your fave's percieved competition. Sadly hindsight is 20/20 because if some of these hateful people would read books and articles and the actual interviews of kpop idols you'd know quiet a few of them are not the most hygenic either. Yet I never see longposts about all the times kpop idols were on v or ig live after a concert and just put new clothes on with makeup on their faces and go to bed. I don't do that cause I know you never know someones mental state maybe they are really struggling with something personal. I know people just delete and get new socials and pretend they never said such rude and tasteless things but words do hurt. I never understand people wont tell the honest truth about politics' morals or something of common sense to a celeb but they will make fun of them.
Valid critique is fine. Show concern but just being mean for the sake of it is so pointless.
I try to say things that make sense and that I would actually say to a persons face; ask simple questions or make a critique of their work. But bullying someone like we are in middle school or something is so childish.
the way you guys still thirst over harry styles in 2019 and he doesn’t even shower…
this is a crazy theory but I honestly think....he is ace and demiromantic. He is just a very huge people pleaser. Him not giving a label plus cleaving to hinduism lately I think he doesnt or cant identify as masculine for whatever reason yet also doesnt want to limit himself in love. I genuinely dont see him coming out at all because he doesnt relate to either or. He is really just discovering himself. Im shocked nobody tals about his interest in hinduism as its most likely a huge factor in him clearing the air. He was never closeted tbh.
anyways not a big shawn mendes fan especially with the recent religious overtones in his music but "you can say i like girls or boys, whatever fits your mold" is giving baby bisexual vibes sooooooo hard
Since it will prolly come out soon I'll just post this with the info available. Even though I think my old analysis will also be at least somewhat accurate
So firstly the paris
there's a map of the seine river
Dive in(honestly I hope this isn't a title track or an album title but it could be a lyric)
Probably it's something about childhood or age because they keep showing stuff of him as a child
He liked the movie pirates of the carribbean play when he was younger so it might be related to that period of time.
he's wearing the colors of the french flag
Interestingly enough the beginning of the movie takes place in
Jamaica is a french colony
"The French colonial empire in the Americas comprised New France (including Canada and Louisiana), French West Indies (including Saint-Domingue, Guadeloupe, Martinique, Dominica, St. Lucia, Grenada, Tobago and other islands) and French Guiana."
This also connects to Bomba which is a afro-latino island dance style
"Bomba is an umbrella term that refers to a variety of musical styles and associated dances originating in Puerto Rico. It was developed by enslaved Africans and their descendants in sugar plantations along coastal towns, most notably Loiza, Mayagüez, Ponce, and San Juan, during the 17th century."
" The Bomba is of African origin and came to Puerto Rico with the introduction of African Slaves. The Bomba is traditionally played with percussion instruments, such as drums. The Plena was later derived from the Bomba style. These music styles and the traditional dances to it, represent the infusion of Taino, European and African traditions"
In the lyrics for Bomba it's kind of confirmed
In the behind the scenes for the tour someone described what the concept will be like
they said this and idk why nobody is talking about it because this video for the tour guide kind of explains what the album is going to be about
the stage looks are also with less clothes. So honestly I think it's gonna be basically what I thought it was going to be since it's a continuation of the other themes.
Stopping time and immortality references.
I'll stop here cause I don't wanna spoil the entire thing.
Mostly because I don't even think this album is new, I think this is something that was supposed to be a pt 2 to rover, meaning parts of it may have already been filmed like 2 years ago.
Cause the filming time doesn't make sense and they didn't spend more than a day and a half filming cause in between people thinking he was filming a music video in reality he was filming that ralph lauren mini film in...paris I think. They may have quickly shot some things in the middle of him doing promotion and fashion stuff. But I do not think it's much more than a few extra scenes and clips. He's been filming sparsely meaning the recording and everything was probably mostly done and they may have been doing reshoots or ad on scenes. Which explains why he dyed his hair blonde because one of the old scenes might be when he was filming during rover, so he had to match those scenes. Then the new hair color is probably because the 2nd mv is with brown hair. Otherwise they torched his hair for no reason or it was just a wig. And I know reshoots/wigs to cover up new hair due to extended periods between filming due to snyder verse. When filming is done in super short periods of time and magically everything is done that's a reshoot.
Or maybe they put moments or video clips from his childhood to make it like similar to one of those look how I've grown projects like beyonce did putting her childhood videos in her tour. Anyway that's what I think.
No problem, but in my rambling, I was trying to be as polite as possible; I'm implying most kpop fandom works have the depth of a shallow pool. Besides blind praise that I don't feel most of it deserves, I really wouldn't have anything else to say. I was never rude to anyone, ever--they were simply reactive to me asking basic questions about the stories, which they couldn't answer. There are some fandom works I love, but there is no room to have a genuine conversation anymore. The artists are too sensitive to take basic level questions. I wouldn't waste my time critiquing a fan comic or fic that doesn't possess even simple plot structure. The rare times I have simply asked a worldbuilding question, the people get so offended not because I'm rude but they barely know what worldbuilding is. My writing or art isn't perfect, far from it. But the other fandoms I participated in left room for someone to call out stuff, or analyze. In this fandom specifically it's hard to do that because it's not that deep. I want to in my spare time, when I'm in the mood for exo content, to give someone who writes a good story a long comment. Maybe even ask a few questions, but it's a catch 22 situation. I understand exo fandom creators want their fandom back. I get that. I'd love more funny original exo content, but it's a different climate now. Somehow the one direction fandom is still making fanworks that get attention and get made into movies. But I just don't ever remember Anna Todd freaking out, because somebody asked her, why she put ab or c in her story. It wasn't a great story, but any critique good or bad she accepted rewrote and published it. And people who could read it for free still bought it, cause it's about respect. Respect is mutual. I would never blast someone else's story or anything like that. But many writers or even people making jokes, say things that are pretty far out, yet if you even slightly question it--you should just go somewhere else. No, I don't think asking an author what they want to hear is appropriate, it's not. If they wanted their comments or replies turned off to avoid noise they could easily do that.
Also by critique, besides me just telling the author my plain opinion, like I like the story structure, the characterization, pacing, descriptions? Or in terms of art, you can't say anything about anybody's art online, so I don't. I just heart what I like and keep moving. Fanart can be good, but a lot of it just isn't.
Creativity makes more of a mark than perfect digital art. Nothing feels handmade anymore or has passion. People can sense that. Again I'm not judging or saying I can do better, I am just being honest.
and to show a proper example here is a comment I once left.
I will blot out the author name and the character name. Usually I rarely comment. I don't feel like digging through all my old profiles to find more. I can compliment a creator all day, but many don't have much to say. Which is fine, but this author in particular, really really wanted people to comment. I felt bad so I did. It feels like they want comments so their work will seem popular more than they want to create a good story.
This was not a bad interaction it just felt like a pointless one, is this the type of response people want? In the past even teen romance writers had more substance. In the end I just feel like this works when a fandom is full of very young people who are happy with pointless conversations, but mature people want something real to talk about.
I wish y'all good luck though, hopefully some of what I and others said can help the way creators choose to interact with their audience in the future.
I'm genuinely curious as to the answers, so if you see this could you please do me the favour of signal boosting this so it reaches more people?
I see posts circulating now and again about lack of interaction on fandom creation posts. No one reblogs. No one comments. But I never see anyone asking why. Is it simply a matter of being in the middle of an etiquette shift? Is it crossplanted members of social media communities having different social norms? Has the way people use Tumblr shifted? Speculation only goes so far so to better understand what I'd like to know is the following:
How long have you been on Tumblr? Any fandom not just Exo.
What is your take on fan created works on Tumblr and interacting with them?
Do you have a process for what goes on your blog? How do you find most of the posts you reblog? Through the dash? Through the tags?
Do you spend time on other platforms? Have you in the past?
How do you interact with fan creations on these other platforms? Do you like comment or share? Do you re-tweet? Etc.
When was the last fic of any length (drabble and blurbs and headcanons/reactions included) you read? Last time you saw fanart (including edits and moodboards and graphics) you enjoyed?
Did you reblog it?
If yes you did reblog did you say anything about it? Simple or otherwise? Leave a gif underneath that expressed how you felt? Put a comment in the tags? Left an emoji? Etc.
If you didn't leave commentary was there a reason? Do you feel like you start to repeat yourself when commenting? Do you think there's nothing to say? Were you following the adage if you cant say something nice dont say anything at all? Other reasons?
If no you did not reblog why? Is there a specific reason? Did you not like it and not want to say? Does it not fit your blog? Was it not a length or level of skill you felt warranted a reblog? Have your friends already seen it? Do you only post your own creations? Other reasons?
For our fan creators I have an extra question. Do you reply to your comments? Even if they're in the tags?
If no is there a reason?
Please take a moment and share your answers cause I'm trying to understand where things shifted from what they were before to now.
I believe Kai in Adult swim and potentially in all of exo's content is in some way a vampiric entity who seems to be obsessed with running a sort of religious cult with followers who dance with him and worship him.
Anyway to me the analysis kind of proved itself halfway through this is definitely what it is about
Like...it's just kind of right there.
Cause honestly I noticed nobody was analyzing, they were simply seeing it as oh Kim Jongin who plays Kai of Exo is doing a music video and he's coming back from the military and he's working so hard, just like and watch it. Which is exactly what they want people to focus on.
It seems like the real message of the music video has been completely ignored do to a focus on "real world events"
In Adult swim we are seeing Kai lead another cult which is something he seemed to have left behind thousands of years ago during peaches. But apparently not.
Towards the end he seems to be doing some sort of indigenous dance, it looks like a spirit dance native americans used to perform while he is surrounded by his cult members.
The Gender Bender
On this poster which is shown multiple times, it is expressing the belief that gender expression and identity and romance have nothing to do with one another. Which I agree. It's basically saying you cannot possibly figure someone out by knowing who they have or haven't slept with. Or figure out someone's orientation by the clothes they wear.
In the music video he is seen being close with guys, putting his arm around them, hugging and sitting very close. Yet he dances with a woman with whom he has some type of serious connection to. All while he wears a crop top. With the crop top he is wearing a durag which is seen as more masculine attire. There is every race present and yet for some reason they are all okay with him being in charge of them and they are okay with following his lead. Meaning he isn't simply a guy hosting this party, these people wakeup and end the night at a pool building so clearly this is some type of coven or something.
The other members seem to barely know how to dance and somewhat just shimmy a bit and there is a few scenes where you can see Kai trying to teach them how to dance but by the end no one does anything more than shuffle they don't even attempt to do the dance he does. Which they easily could of gotten background dancers to do, but they did not want to because that isn't the theme
These aren't the old followers who followed him throughout the ages but new followers who he has to teach just like children, they all look to him for guidance and seem not to know anything.
But like I said, with the hypnosis necklace is that just because they are all stupid or are they hypnotizied
Is the cult religious, do they believe he is an angel or a fallen angel. One believer is wearing a cross
then we see a kid with a fish
he begins tapping on the tank disturbing the fish
most likely a metaphor because Kai notices
It could be that Kai is the fish in the tank who must return to the water or the pool for some reason.
I suppose it could be a reference to the little mermaid or finding nemo, needing to get back to the ocean but instead he returns to the pool.
the ending is ominious and he ends up in an empty pool alone pointing to the nights sky
perhaps showing how he is bound to the earth after becoming a fallen angel and he's somehow confined to the water. Just like all his teasers his entire career have been water based.
I suppose this could also be a shared living dormitory
it says community and F normal. Which means they could all be each others found family.
okay I'm tired now but I loved this. I really think this could be a mini drama if they have the footage, send it to me I will edit it for them I promise, 30 bucks an hour. But no really I love this concept and idea and it reminds me of something I'd binge watch on netflix or hulu.
Fav moments the duets of course but also towards the end when they were all dancing in the mosh pit well he was dancing they were all acting like they have something on their shoulders and they are trying to get it off. I think that awkwardness was purposely input.
But my last fav moment I found that I can't incorporate with research was this moment when he made eye contact with this woman and he was going off doing his best club hoe gimme some dollars move to...impress her? Like there were men around he could of done that with. I don't think she knew what to do with that. I really don't know what the intention was and she was just kinda like
The music video is sped up but she turned away so slowly she was like I dunno about all that. No lie he's either a comedian or he like actually think he's a exotic dancer cause why would he do that.
It was actually the highlight of doing this for two hours. Like I'm gone, what did he expect her to do get behind him?
But yeah this was actually fun and honestly I have less space on my other apps so I put a lot of research on tumblr, and with stuff like this why not it's innocent and not too serious. I really enjoyed the song and music video at first I was hesitant but once I realized the average person didn't like it I was like okay it's safe. I like things that are an acquired viewing.
At first I was like ehh, but now I am seeing the vision. But I really think this could of been a really cute drama. Like 4 or 5 episodes I'm so ready for him to act again especially if it's in something like this, like please. Korean promo circuit is a particular torture for me. I do not find korean variety funny. I have watched japanese variety and laughed so many times. I've been watching korean stuff for years. I'm not sure if the humor doesn't hit for me but I'm very different in what I find funny. I noticed that I find Kji hilarious but not when he's trying to be funny on variety it's so cringe to me. Like I just sit their stoneface, but when he's just being himself doing goofy stuff like this he's very funny. I just wish they wouldn't script so much. I know korean t.v they script so much of it just to be safe so no one says something bad. It makes for awful, repetitive t.v.
So sadly his album and whatever he does will be all I will be able to enjoy. I just can't get used to korean variety it's so boring. It's never the show it's the system it's like some shows have way too many people writing them and I can tell. I can see for rookies but I can't understand they do it to grown adults.
But I would love to see him on the jennifer hudson show, or drew barrymore or maybe kelly clarkson. I think if he promoted in america they usually don't script that heavy so it will be much more natural. But I notice some kpop idols sort of crashout when they are given freedom to talk about things they would never say in korea.
There's also so many shows on youtube he could guest on.
Hailey bieber interviews people over snacks, tiny desk concert, also he literally has his own youtube channel but apparently he has to pay for editing and film himself. But his youtube is so so scripted like it's unbearable you can basically see him reading off a prompter.
Honestly if he would show himself doing stuff for work or during his viral moments that would be nice like an in between for filming mv's. Him talking with people, or his actual dance practice process.
I would love a behind the scenes for this whole process. He could of been making documentaries for every album, post them on youtube. The ones that show barely anything aren't entertaining, there's so much they leave out,
Like, yes, but how old do you think the members of popular groups were when they joined the company, though?
13/14/15 year olds debuting in kpop IS a problem and i wish kpop stans would stop pretending it’s not thank u
