This is something I really needed to hear, those posts saying do [x] or you're a bad person do make me feel bad because I'm truly terrified of getting in trouble for talking about it in my family (I've already gotten in some arguments over it), and I don't repost anything on most of my social media because if my parents find out, I have no idea what they're going to do.

if you are in a privileged group but also a minor? especially a mentally ill minor, and TRIPLE if there is even the most remote chance saying something could result in danger for you?

those ‘use your privilege’ post telling you to stand up to your family members (which i notice becoming increasingly frequent at this time of year) are not directed at you.

(also, significantly more hostile aside - anybody who comes on this post to clown and say that they are feel free to fuck off in literally every goddamn direction)

I know with kids like Greta Thunberg making the news, and post listing other Gen Z kids making changes, it can be easy to feel like those posts are calling you, kids, out specifically.

and don’t get me wrong, I am so, so proud of those kids. and if you can stand up to your family members, I’m proud of you, too.

But, and i mean this in gentlest way possible - this is not your job.

It isn’t. Some of you are taking it on, and thats very noble of you, but it isn’t and should not be your job. anybody who says things like “these kids are gonna save the world” makes me want to tear my hair out because kids should not be saving the world, kids should be being kids. You should be worried about taking the ACT and figuring out what kind of people/if you want to kiss, not fucking fascism.

the most stressful decision you should have to make at a family gathering is what sweater to wear, not putting your literal child self in the middle of a bigoted, hostile confrontation, and anybody - especially any adult - who tells you otherwise is not only an asshole but it is fucking irresponsible, and does not have your best interest at heart.

It's not over, BLM is still going strong. Hold the police Accountable

i’m so sorry to ask for help again but this is an emergency. we had to rush our dog to the vet and basically she needs surgery. the estimate is $682. if she doesn’t get it she will literally die and i don’t know what to do. we can’t lose her, not now. she means the world to us. we don’t have this kind of money at the moment due to being in a really rough spot. we need to make this amount before september 21st, but the sooner the better. i’ll link my payment info below but if you want to be sure, you can call the veterinary office and put money towards it through them. just dm me and i’ll send you the info you need. i am begging people to reblog this i don’t want to lose someone i consider family. literally even a dollar would help. i’m sorry if this is messy or quick or anything i’m just panicking. thank you so much for reading.

EDIT: after doing more research and being informed by a couple people who work at vet offices, there is an extremely good chance that the surgery is going to be quite a bit more expensive than the estimation says, to say the least. because of that i’m making the goal higher at $1000. i know that’s a lot more but i really do not want to take the chance of not being able to afford it the day of the surgery. i’m not necessarily expecting to get that much but if we can at least get to $800 i’m hoping it will be enough. thank you again for reading and please keep reblogging.
