You and San were cuddling on the couch watching a movie as Taehyung walked in. He stopped for a moment and looked at you with a smile that fell as soon as your boyfriend looked over. San pulled you closer and kissed your head knowing what that does to your friend. Taehyung clenched his fists and jaw looking at San with dark eyes,that look soon shifting to you and getting a more sly tone. He walked away and returned after some time passed and San had to go to a fan greeting. You two talked and laughed together, him stealing some touches. His happy mood soon turned to suppressed anger as San returned and leaned over him to give you a kiss. In that moment Tae had enough. He pushed San away and stood up. "Y/n is mine. She was never supposed to be yours" he snarled at San with anger in his eyes. San only chuckled knowing he may be shorter than him but he's a lot stronger. He walked up to Tae "she's not yours. She belongs to me." he pushed taehyung back" all mine and you get nothing. " Tae tried to hit him but San caught his arm twisting it and pinning him to the wall. Struggle was useless and Taehyung glared at San as he let him go. San walked over to you wrapped his arms around you and lifting you up. Your head on his shoulder and your legs wrapped around his hips, he carried you upstairs and as you were walking you saw your best friend on the floor looking at you with a certain glint in his eye and right as San put you down you saw Tae wink at you. This was far from over.

The one who lurks behind your eyes;

Who lingers when your tears run dry;

An anguished heart so full of sorrow,

and no one there to hear you cry.

He pulls upon your heartstrings taut,

to fish for memories your mind forgot;

His laughter scratches at your brain

As you turn to whiskey to drown your thoughts.

And when the dim-lit room runs red;

And your heart is filled with dread,

As the one who lurks behind your eyes

Stands where your children rest their heads.

You’ve nothing waiting in this life,

And so you’ve chosen sacrifice;

To watch your little ones run free,

As you remain imprisoned inside your mind.

Now your mouth moves all on its own;

The thoughts, you find, aren’t ones you hold;

As dead eyes stare unblinking straight ahead;

Taunting all who watch their screens at home.

The one who lurks behind his eyes,

at some point you have to realize that you actually have to read to understand the nuance of anything. we as a society are obsessed with summarization, likely as a result of the speed demanded by capital. from headlines to social media (twitter being especially egregious with the character limit), people take in fragments of knowledge and run with them, twisting their meaning into a kaleidoscope that dilutes the message into nothing. yes, brevity is good, but sometimes the message, even when communicated with utmost brevity, requires a 300 page book. sorry.
