The Hermit In Love

Hello dearest , I'm not sure if you've answered this but what does the Hermit mean in a love Reading? It's one of my favourite cards but a lot of people say it's unfavorable and its quite confusing. Thank you!

The Hermit in Love

If he appears in a spread of at least ten cards, with three or more of these:

The Lovers reversed

The Hanged Man

Ace of Cups reversed

Two of Cups reversed

Four of Cups

Five of Cups

Ten of Cups reversed

Five of Swords

Eight of Swords

Nine of Swords

Ten of Swords

Five of Pentacles

Seven of Pentacles

Ten of Pentacles reversed

A Knight reversed

…he foretells that the querent will never be blessed with a great romance, and is doomed to a life of ultimate loneliness.

But if it is at least three of these that he appears with:

The Empress/The Emperor (if the desired is a woman or a man)

The Hierophant

The Lovers

Justice

The Hanged Man reversed

Judgement

The World

Four of Wands

Ace of Cups

Two of Cups

Six of Cups

Ten of Cups

Four of Pentacles

Seven of Pentacles reversed

Ten of Pentacles

A King and a Queen of the same suit (both cards to be counted as one)

…then he promises that the querent will find true love and have the privilege of growing old with his or her soulmate.

Hi Diana I recently kept getting signs and feelings that pointed me in the direction of witchcraft and paganism and I’ve accepted that something is trying to call me to these beliefs is that sounds right. My question is where do I start? There is so much information going around and I don’t want to anger anything or get something wrong. What you recommend for someone is is just starting their journey into this religion

HOW TO BECOME A WITCH

Witches could already be practicing for decades, and still, every day, they keep learning new things. That is how wide-ranging and wonderful this path is.

But when taking your first steps, there is no need to be overwhelmed. For now, start with these. Forget everything else.

STEP 1: Look within.

Just because Aphrodite is trending on Twitter does not mean you should worship her. And just because crystals look good on Instagram does not mean you should start your own collection. Your practice should be tailored to your soul, not to the posts on your dashboard.

So go to Café Astrology and enter your birthdate. It will calculate your natal chart, which is basically the manual to your life. It lets you know your strengths and weaknesses so you can let the former make up for the latter. This website not only shows you the details, it also explains what they mean.

STEP 2: Look up.

Now that you have a better knowing of yourself, look beyond your existence. Who do you think made you?

Investigate your lineage as much as you can. Was your family always Christian? Jewish? Atheist? Or did your ancestors have a more traditional belief? Having an inherent connection to the old gods means inviting them into your life will be much easier. If you feel a strong affinity with the Greco-Roman gods particularly, use your natal chart to confirm your theory.

But if after much meditation, you find yourself believing that the source is not a divinity, but the cosmos as a whole, then feel free to embrace that energy.

STEP 3: Look closely.

Our eyes can only see what is right in front of us. Divination allows us to see beyond that, and look into the forgotten past… the hidden present… and the future in all its glory.

Tarot is one of the richest divination systems in existence. Here is how you can learn it in one day. But if you feel that it is not for you, there are many alternatives too. Do you enjoy meditating? You might fall in love with scrying.

STEP 4: Look out.

One of the best things about witchcraft and paganism is that they empower you to improve your life with magic.

Is there a danger you need to protect yourself from? A wound that you need to close? A wrong that you need to right? Whatever it is, there is a spell for it.

Start with the simplest ones. All you need are a few ingredients and ton of faith to make them work.

STEP 5: Look around.

Now that you know who you really are… where your faith truly lies… how to see beyond the obvious… and how to tweak reality to make life easier… you are officially a practitioner.

It is time to expand your knowledge even further. Read as many books as you like. Try as many methods of divination as possible. Perform as many spells as you can.

You can start with these lists:

All About Divination

All About Astrology

All About Spells

Take as long as you need with each step. No need to hurry. Good luck in your journey.

Scorpio Risings

Those with Scorpio on the Ascendant are always wearing veils of black embroidery upon their ice-cold eyes. They present themselves as full of mysteries and kept to themselves. Thus, Scorpio Rising people are perceived as hard to access and very private.

A so reserved behaviour actually tends to stem from one’s instinctual need for security. Scorpio Risings feel, mostly subconsciously, that they cannot trust other people and, in some cases, not even themselves. They’re constantly questioning their own motives and searching for a potential meaning behind their own existence. They wish to know what is their mission in this world, after all, in a rather profound fashion.

Scorpio Risings try to answer these questions by quietly analyzing anything and anyone around them, unveiling secrets and penetrating sheets of reality. And on this quest for deep knowledge they automatically acquire a frightening power over others. If a Scorpio Rising doesn’t like what they see, they will try to transform it into something better and truer than it was before. For that, other people have no option but love them or hate them; there’s little space for in-betweens considering such an impactful attitude. At their best, Scorpio Risings will tend to use this power to transform their own personality and only then proceed to help other people transform their own selves through crisis and intense questioning.

Scorpio Risings are observant and careful when approaching any new projects or changes in their lives; they’re planners. Because their power derives from their ability to observe and examine through seeing other people’s habits and gestures, they’re very well-known for having a magnetic presence and deep eyes.

Let’s consider, for descriptions of this Rising in this post, Pluto’s positions and conditions in the natal chart. It is essential, on the other hand, to further analyze Mars’ position and conditions too. We’ll start with the 9th house, for people born with Pluto in Cancer are very old at the time of writing.

Pluto/9th house: a reserved scholar sits in a library; he’s surrounded by books on politics, psychology, metaphysics, theology and world history. Personal power is acquired through information and learning and is expressed through the exposition of the accumulated knowledge.

Pluto/10th house: a military officer kneels before their governor; they are to be decorated for their long-time honourable efforts. Personal power is obtained through one’s career and social status. Their image is linked to honour, conquest, force of will and hard-work.

Pluto/11th house: a TV-star cries passionately on the arms of their fictional lover; the scene is reproduced in millions of shiny digital screens. Personal power is exerted through one’s ability to communicate and organize abstract ideas into material results. Intelligence, ambition and cleverness are key-words for this Pluto. This is someone great at offering services and solutions for other people’s needs.

Pluto/12th house: a lonely faithful kneels before an altar; the cathedral is cold, wet and empty; a candle flickers in the dark. The ability to understand intangible energies and subtle changes in the air. One’s able to use this deep understanding of vibrations and of the emotional realm to transform one’s self and also other people. Personal power may be exerted through religion, sex and art.

Pluto/1st house: a yellow snake twists and dances swiftly in rippling waters; it’s leaving its old skin behind. Absolute power. This is someone who’s trying to understand and improve themselves through crisis in order to better act upon the world they wish to change. Power is expressed through one’s capability to renew one’s personality along their way; always changing, always shifting.

Pluto/2nd house: a wise traveler considers the horizon; magnificent buildings materialize against the windy sunset. Information is power; power is transformation. One must be capable to discern quality information from useless information. This is someone who is socially valued for one’s knowledge and fairness.

Pluto/3rd house: a detective looks around the crime scene; a few questions are asked to a witness; after a few minutes, the case is mostly solved. There’s the possibility to transform the existing social structures through one’s ability to communicate with others and to extract deep information.

You literally just changed my life with the last ask you answered. I never fully understood astrology because my asteroids contradict my planets and my aspects contradict my placements. But when you listed the order of their importance, NOW my chart reflects who I am. Genius. But I do have a question. How much should we let our chart dictate our life? Can we fight the more negative parts? Some of us are lucky to have a 'good' chart but what of those who don't? Thanks very much my dear Diana!

Your Natal Chart’s Role in Your Life

If life is a video game, then the player is your higher self, the character being played is your current incarnation, and that character's list of weapons, weaknesses and strengths is your natal chart.

A character who only has a knife may have better precision than someone who has a gun. He is not necessarily the weaker one.

A character who is unmatched at lockpicking or punching people could still be helpless if they get stuck in a quicksand.

A character whose weakness is alligators will be perfectly fine, if she is smart enough to stay away from swamps.

While our natal chart dictates what tools we have to win at life, it is up to us to sharpen or reforge those tools to our advantage.

When the character is falling short, the player needs to rely on their own resourcefulness. Similarly, when you feel like giving up, it is time to ask your higher self for help.

Dearest Lady Diana, I noticed you always mention amulets and talismans together, when the less experienced writers here just use these two words interchangeably like synonyms. Can I please know the difference between the two? Thank you!

Amulets vs. Talismans

An amulet is a shield. A talisman is a sword.

The first will protect you from harm. The second will do that and more, such as send malice back to its source, or collect its energy to be harnessed later on in a curse. It can even heal invisible wounds.

Except when a talisman is labelled a protective talisman. In that case, it really is just a synonym for “amulet”.

But this is not to belittle amulets. A man who took a gunshot to the chest would tell you how his life was saved by a bulletproof vest. Same with an amulet. It can shield you from bullets, curses, diseases.

Amulets are also safer for beginners. Because while amulets are programmed to serve their purpose, talismans have a mind of their own. If they do not think the wearer worthy of their power, they could refuse to work, or they could wreak havoc altogether.

Here are some, if you think yourself ready to try them:

Amulet Against Human-Caused Harm

Amulet to Keep Children Safe

Talisman Against Curses

Talisman to Banish Fear and Negativity

They need awakening and care, if you wish them to do their share:
