In my native country we use French cards almost every day, so I obviously grew up attached to my playing deck and never felt the urge to buy proper tarots - even my current Major Arcana deck is homemade - but donât get me wrong, I lâ„ve tarots - especially those like Shadowscapes, Rider, Art Nouveau and Luminous Spirit! Readings with playing cards are a bit informal, yet accurate and difficoult to interpret because of upright and reversed cards looking the same. Itâs like a complex version of the Minor Arcana. Hope you like this post:))Â

Hello Diana! I absolutely love all your posts! When talking about tarot you recurrently talked about astrology could you tell us more about it please? Thank you for everything, have a lovely day
The stars are carved into the cards. A readerâs ability is fragmentary without knowledge of astrology.
Each Major Arcana is a sign or a planet. This is crucial when you are identifying people. Who will you marry? Who will your child be? A Pisces or an Aries?
The Fool is Uranus. They are both eccentric.
The Magician is Mercury. They are both intelligent.
The High Priestess is The Moon. They are both intuitive.
The Empress is Venus. They are the Queen of Queens.
The Emperor is Aries. They are natural leaders.
The Hierophant is Taurus. They embody stability.
The Lovers is Gemini. They represent duality.
The Chariot is Cancer. They carry their home with them.
Strength is Leo. They are the epitome of bravery.
The Hermit is Virgo. They are both analytical.
Wheel of Fortune is Jupiter. They are givers of abundance.
Justice is Libra. They both strive for fairness.
The Hanged Man is Neptune. They both love introspection.
Death is Scorpio. They are the masters of evolution.
Temperance is Sagittarius. Both need balance.
The Devil is Capricorn. Both are tied to the physical.
The Tower is Mars. They are destructive.
The Star is Aquarius. They both have many dreams.
The Moon is Pisces. They are the mystics.
The Sun is The Sun. They represent vitality.
Judgement is Pluto. They are both vindictive.
The World is Saturn. Commanders of the material.
And when predicting the future, the signsâ corresponding Court Cards indicate timing. When will your dream come true? A month from now or two?

this is personally the way i cleanse my house. itâs different for every practicioner, but you need to do it.
how i cleanse:
i love incense. the different smells and the pretty smoke patterns really do it for me. thereâs also the added benefit of not culturally appropriating by using white sage.***
i light an incense stick and walk around my space with it, taking deep breaths and imagining all the negative energy in the room leaving the areas iâm holding the stick in. i then let it burn until itâs completely out.
after that, i line my windows and doorways with black salt. if youâre interested in learning how to make this, please let me know.
after that, i put up my protective sigils on my windows, doors, and mirrors (simply to lock the mirrors). if you want to learn how to make a sigil, donât hesitate to ask!
cleansing physically can help you with your spiritual cleanse as well. clean your room/house/whatever, straighten up your altar, go ham with some pine sol.
i like to do a face mask after my monthly deep-clean of my space.Â
when i cleanse:Â
i re-ward/deep cleanse my room once a month, but i actually cleanse with incense every time i go to cast a spell. before i cast my circle or even before i get my materials out, i have my incense burning. the amount of times i cast a spell varies from week to week, but itâs always more than once a week. i highly highly highly suggest cleansing every time you go to cast a spell.
i am not the end-all-be-all of witchcraft. you donât have to cleanse as often as i do, but you at least need to do something. remember, your craft is personal to you, you can only learn from the experiences of older witches and choose whether or not to take our advice. happy crafting!
***if you are not native american and using white sage, please stop. native peoples are running out of sage and need it for their practice. itâs sacred to them.
I just can't think of anyone who reads as beautifully [and accurately] as you. I'm just so amazed cause after I binged your older pick a card readings, there were 4 readings that always had the same 2 cards, but you read them differently each time! And you explained the meanings so beautifully too. I wonder if you're willing to share how you're so original and diverse in how you read the cards? Thank you so much, darling Diana! You are greatly loved and appreciated!
1) IMPRESSION
What does one glimpse tell you?
No one looks happy in this spread. The man in the Nine of Wands is worried. The heart in the Three of Swords is hurt. The guy in the Seven of Swords is cautious. The royal in the Four of Pentacles is tense. The boy in the Four of Cups is bored. So whatever the question is, the answer is not good.
2) PROGRESSION
Read the cards from left to right.
You are currently grieving (Five of Cups). But with the help of a feminine figure (Queen of Cups), passion will enter your life once more (Ace of Wands), and you will have something to celebrate (Three of Cups). Your broken heart will not be so broken anymore (Three of Swords reversed).
3) ARCANA
Observe which arcana dominates.
Four out of five belong to the Major Arcana. One Major and one Minor combine to create negativity (The Tower + Nine of Swords). But the three other Majors have beautiful energy. Three trumps two. And more importantly, Major trumps Minor. So whatever sadness there is right now will be replaced with âmajorâ joy.
4) SUITS
See which suit is present and which is not.
Wands and Pentacles share prominence with two each. A Cups card is there too. There are no Swords, which represent our thoughts. Thus, this situation has a lot of passion (Wands) and stability (Pentacles), as well as a bit of emotion (Cups). Even better, there is no anxiety and overthinking (Swords) involved.
5) COLORS
Use color psychology.
This spread is dominated by blacks and grays. Even though the Five of Swords says âKeep fightingâ and the last two cards are positive (Four of Swords + Three of Pentacles = harmonious relationships), there is a darkness and a dullness that surround this situation.
6) NUMBERS
Use numerology.
You have one zero, two Aces, and two Twos. Zero means a new start. This is reinforced by the Aces, which are equivalent to the number one â a symbol of beginnings. And number two represents partnerships. Therefore, a new partnership with a new person is predicted to come into your life.
7) SYMBOLS
Look at the symbols on the cards.
That is Apollo on his chariot (The Chariot), ruler of the Sun (The Sun), which in turn rules Leo, who is represented by Strength. Leoâs symbol, the lion, even appears in the last two cards â bottom right in the Wheel of Fortune, and on top in the Two of Cups. Obviously, a Leo will play a huge role in your life.
8) ASTROLOGY
Use the cardsâ astrological associations.
The Emperor and the Queen of Wands both represent Aries. The Tower is Mars, ruler of Aries. The Hierophant and the King of Pentacles both represent Taurus. Therefore, this spread is speaking of a connection between an Aries and a Taurus, or just one person who is on the cusp of these signs.
9) DIRECTION
See where the cards are facing.
Four out of five are looking towards The Devil. The King of Cups, The World, The Hermit and The Fool are all observing him. So you are being warned against an abusive person or an oppressive situation. Or perhaps you are simply being told that your soulmate is a Capricorn, the sign associated with this card.
10) INTUITION
Listen to what your gut is telling you.
If you asked the cards if someone is in love with you, and you know a guy who always wears a red shirt, like the figures in the Eight of Cups, Justice, The Emperor and the Three of Wands, then it is probably him. Especially if his name is Michael, because that is Archangel Michael depicted in Temperance.

Dear Diana, everybody's talking about Mars Retrograde like it's the worst thing. But the way you talk about Mars is a good energy. That he gives ambition and courage and all. Any advice for us please? Thank you for your time and generosity.
What is Mars retrograde? Well, Mars is the source of your drive and tenacity â your will to fight and live. And to âretrogradeâ means to move backwards. So from September 9th to November 13th, mimic Marsâ movement. Do your best to look back, and reclaim any strengths that you have lost along the years.
If Mars is in your First House
Regain your lost ego. Perhaps you considered yourself a genius as a student but now see yourself as an average adult. Remember what made you great back then. Embrace it again.
If Mars is in your Second House
Remember what you used to value but no longer care about. Perhaps you used to be into fashion or makeup. Maybe it is time to start a beauty vlog. You could now gain income from that.
If Mars is in your Third House
The way you used to communicate made people hear you and respect your opinion. Have you given up your truths so as not to offend anyone? Time to find your voice again.
If Mars is in your Fourth House
What did your first real home look like? Try to mimic its design or atmosphere in your current space. It will give you a sense of comfort and belonging that you have not felt in years.
If Mars is in your Fifth House
When you were younger, what were you deeply passionate about? What made you happy? Animé? Art? Music? Whatever it is, if you revisit it, it can give you fulfillment.
If Mars is in your Sixth House
Think back to when you were at your fittest and healthiest. What food did you eat back then? Any exercise routine you practiced? It is time to recommit yourself to it.
If Mars is in your Seventh House
Which of your old friends always made you feel good about yourself? Perhaps it is time to reconnect. If that is not possible, at least surround yourself now with similar people.
If Mars is in your Eighth House
What was it that made you a better person before than you are now? Was it how you treated others? Was it where you lived or how you looked? It is time to transform into that again.
If Mars is in your Ninth House
Your old philosophy in life got you through many challenges. What was it? A quote from your favorite movie? Something you read in a book? It is time to live again by those words.
If Mars is in your Tenth House
You were once certain you had a purpose in this world. A great destiny to fulfill. If you have lost that belief, embody your childhood self and look for it. It is time to find new meaning.
If Mars is in your Eleventh House
Were you friendlier and more outgoing before? While it is great that you have become independent, it is time to belong to a community again. In others, you will find even more strength.
If Mars is in your Twelfth House
What were your earliest dreams as a child? To own a theme park? To become a lawyer? Or an astronaut? Whatever they are, they will lead you to a clue as to what you should be doing now.
Hello Diana how are you. You blog is such a gift! Thank for all the wonderful knowledge and advice you give. I wanted to ask if you have a spell or advice to clean an object from someoneâs bad energy? I inherited some beautiful jewelry from my aunt. And I love it. But I canât bring myself to wear it. Not even to touch it much. You see her husband gave my aunt this jewelry and he was an awful, despicable man. In my opinion Anyways. Thank you and have a wonderful day, Sara. â€ïž
Every time I receive something significant secondhand â jewels, talismans, tarot decks â I formally welcome it to my life.
Taking it to my sacred space and holding it in my hands, I introduce myself.
âMy name is Diana... a servant of the Fates... a child of Venus... a Plutonian witch. I am now your sole master.â
I let it know what my intentions are.
âI rarely wear a necklace. But you will not be neglected. I will turn you into an amulet. So you can guard my home when I am not there to look after it.â
I declare my commands.
âHold on to the strengths of your previous owners. But release anything that could prevent you from fulfilling your new purpose.â
And I tell it what to expect as a reward for its obedience.
âIf you ever felt mistreated, it will never happen again. In return for your loyalty, you will be regarded as treasure.â
Then I wait for its reply.
Jewelry gleams, as if nodding to agree. Talismans vibrate or become hotter in your hand. That is how they respond. Tarot, by make, is far more articulate.
Finally, I write down its name in a catalog â an inventory of all my sacred properties. The ink makes the contract binding.
Venus in Virgo is a gardener. Gentle and attentive, she walks among plants in light, comfortable clothes that blow slowly to the windâs whispers. Diamonds grow from her flowers, and she tends to them much like a jeweller polishes their stones.
Venus in Virgo is a fertile placement, but not a typical one⊠Traditionally, Virgo is too analytical an energy to deal with Venusâ sphere of affections. Here, the process of loving, attracting and demonstrating affection passes first through reason and logical examination, maybe preventing a more spontaneous and traditionally natural expression of oneâs fondness towards others. Virgo Venusâ fertility, then, is about being able to discriminate between good and bad. People with this placement are watchful observers, and this trait helps them understand the people theyâre interested in. Theyâre judicious and easily identify both skillful and unskillful traits in others. And so they become a worker in the garden of their relationships. Seeds are carefully analyzed before being able to grow in a safe place under the Sun. People with this placement take good care of their friends and lovers and are somehow devoted to them, for these people have invariably been elected as especial and worthwhile from a pile of many other potential relationships. Like a gardener whoâs proud of their work, Venus in Virgo people love to watch their allies grow and will focus their efforts in eliminating anything that imposes a threat to the relationshipâs blossom.
This worry and care related to growth is reflected in Virgo Venusâ efforts towards maintaining a healthy body, a balanced mind, a good diet and an impeccable hygiene. Naturally, Venus extends this care to the objects of her attention, and so friends, allies and lovers will all benefit from Virgo Venusâ knowledge on being so thoughtful and so concerned. To put it more clearly, the Virgo Venus individual is the often the one to offer help and to constantly be there for the people they love. How was your day? Is there anything I can help you with? Do it like this and maybe youâll get better results. Are you sleeping well? Let me take charge of this. Et cetera.
Materially, Virgo Venus also symbolizes great talent in organizing and administrating their finances and possessions. She also has great understanding of how nature operates, and because of this she can naturally understand how medicine and healing arts work.
Moreover, this clear observation of the outside world helps Virgo Venus people in always keeping a relationship crystal clear as far as intentions go. People with this placement tend to consciously understand what they want in a relationship, and will often demand a similar attitude from their partner, in the sense that theyâll not only try to dissolve conflict when it appears, but theyâll also try to solve the problem that is imposed, and this is a reflection of Virgoâs analytical and critical eye on things.
Finally, Venus in Virgo is a gentle grower. They watch the weather change from sunny to stormy and from stormy to snowy in a resigned way, always willing to improve themselves and do the most out of a situation while adapting themselves accordingly. Venus in Virgo represents the patience necessary to contently wait for the beautiful thriving of a garden.

Dear Lady Diana, just 2 days on your blog taught me true pride as a witch. Everyone else on here talks about witchcraft as if it's just a fandom. Thank you for being diffrent. But I apologise in advance because I'm aware my question would sounds stupid to you.đȘ Here it is anyway. If My Sun is in Libra, do I count that as 1 point for Lord Apollo (Sun) or 1 point toward Goddess Venus (Libra)? I'm sorry. I usually do plant magic. So lost with astrology.đȘ Thank you so much.
Click the above link and read carefully before you proceed.
In the above chart, anyone will notice that Taurus appears the most. There are four planets in it: the Sun, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn. Who rules Taurus? Venus. So Venus gets 4 points. Plus 1 more, because the Sun is double. Venus gets 5 points.
One will also notice that Aries appears twice. Because there are two planets in it: Mercury and Venus. Who rules Aries? Mars. Mars gets 2 points.
Aquarius too appears twice. The two planets in it are Uranus and Neptune. Who rules Aquarius? Uranus. Uranus gets 2 points.
A third Zodiac sign appears twice. Sagittarius. The two planets in it are the Moon and Pluto. Who rules Sagittarius? Jupiter. Jupiter gets 2 points.
All the 10 planets have been covered. The North Node, Chiron and MC are not planets. They do not matter. They should not be counted.
So what is left? The Ascendant, which is very important. Where is the Ascendant? In Libra. Who rules Libra? Venus. That is 1 more point for Venus. And another, because like the Sun, the Ascendant is double. Venus gets 2 points.
If we combine Venusâ 5 points as Taurus and her 2 points as Libra, then all in all, Venus gets 7 points.
Obviously, 7 is more than 2. So Venus defeats Mars, Uranus and Jupiter in Part 1. The Goddess of Love and Beauty could very well be your divine parent. But we are not done yet.
Take one look, and you will see that out of the twelve Houses, only five contain planets. So there are only five contenders.
Take another look, and you will see that one of these Houses contains as many as three planets. The 7th House. It has the Sun, Jupiter and Saturn. Who rules the 7th House? Venus in Libra. Venus gets 3 points. Not 4. Because in Part 2, the Sun is no longer counted twice.
What are the other Houses with planets?
The 2nd House. It has the Moon and Pluto. Who rules the 2nd House? Venus in Taurus. Venus gets 2 points.
The 4th House. It has Uranus and Neptune. Who rules the 4th House? The Moon, which is the domain of Diana. Diana gets 2 points.
The 6th House. It has Mercury and Venus. Who rules the 6th House? Mercury in Virgo. Mercury gets 2 points.
The 8th House. It has Mars. Who rules the 8th House? Pluto. Pluto gets 1 point.
All the 10 planets have been covered. Chiron and the North Node are not planets. They do not matter. They should not be counted.
If we combine Venusâ 3 points in the 7th House and her 2 points in the 2nd House, then all in all, Venus gets 5 points.
Obviously, 5 is more than 2 or 1. So Venus defeats Diana, Mercury and Pluto in Part 2.
The Goddess of Love and Beauty dominates your Zodiac signs with 7 points and your Houses with 5 points. Overall, she has 12 points. Venus is therefore your sole divine parent. There is no doubt about it. You can stop reading, if you wish.
What if Venus dominates the Zodiac signs but Pluto dominates the Houses?
Then compare Venusâ and Plutoâs points. If Venus has a total of 10 points, and Pluto has a total of 5, well, 10 is more than 5. Venus is still your sole divine parent.
What if it is a tie?
If Venus has a total of 8 points, and Pluto also has 8, then you have two divine parents. Congrats.
What if it is close, but not a tie?
If Venus has a total of 9 points and Pluto has a total of 7, then you still have two divine parents. Because a difference of 2 is too little. But 3 is too much.
What if another planet ties my second parent? Does that mean I have three divine parents?
No. If Pluto and Saturn are tied in second place, then stop looking at your chart, and start looking within. Your identity... your temperament... your tendencies... your attitude... your behavior... Is it Pluto or Saturn who reflects them? Only you can tell. If you answered Pluto, then along with Venus, he is your divine parent. Saturn would still strongly influence your life, but if you call upon him, do not be surprised if he ignores you. Your connection is not that strong.
What if I have no clear dominant planet? What if three planets are tied to begin with?
If Venus gets a total of 6 points, and so do Pluto and Saturn, you still do not have three divine parents. In fact, you have no divine parent at all. Your chart is what my family calls lukewarm. On the negative side, if you call upon the three, none of them may respond. On the positive side, your emotional and mental state are likely to be balanced. You have the potential to become a well-rounded person.
