okay so we have been talking about how misty goes over to taylor during certain parts of the song but i was just watching a recording online where they distort the sound to avoid copyright conflict and so i was watching the performance purely visually and not trying to think about the connection to the lyrics and it’s quite literally that

the ballerina keeps trying to run to taylor in between stunts

but she always has to go back to the man so they can perform another maneuver..

her performance with the man keeps pulling her away 😣
