Cuddling naked under the blankets on a cold day just feeling each other’s warmth would fix me
1.Betty: Writing a song about yearning for a woman is such a hetrosexual thing to do.
2. Marron: Yes because most straight men have scarlet lips.
3.Wonderland: It’s a complete coincidence that Diana had her wonderland tattoo removed right after this song was released.
4.The Man: Because most straight women wish they could brag about getting bitches and models.
5.Don’t Blame Me: I don’t know what you're talking about being in a straight relationship is totally falling from grace.
6.Hits Different: Because wanting to melt another girl's world is extremely straight.
7.Dress: Wanting to date your best friend is such hetrosexual behavior right? Right?
8.Gorgeous: Because it makes total sense why it would be worse for a man to not have a girlfriend than to be single.
9.Now That We Don’t Talk: Because it’s completely logical for “Truth is I can’t pretend it’s platonic it’s just ended” to be written by a straight woman about a straight man.
10.Daylight: “I used to think love would be black and white but it’s golden.” is such a straight lyric to write.
11.I Know Places: Because every straight person has to worry about people finding out about their relationship with their partner.
12.End Game: Because her being in a relationship with a man no ones ever heard of would be a big conversation.
13.Illicit Affairs: Again having to hide a relationship is such hetrosexual behavior.
14.Question: Because a hetrosexual relationship is totally going against gender norms and is not at all considered suitable and right
15.Ours: Because most hetrosexual couples have to deal with people disapproving of their relationship.
16.How You Get The Girl: Because most straight women are extremely familiar with how to get the girl.
17.Out Of The Woods: “The rest of the world was black and white but we were in screaming color” is such a straight lyric you guys.
18.All Of The Girls You Loved Before: Because “all of the girls you’ve loved before made you the one I’ve fallen for” makes total grammatical sense for it to be about a man.
19.Glitch: Because it’s so common for a straight relationship to start off as them supposed to be just friends.
20.The Very First Night: Because there is no reason as to why “they don’t know how much I miss you” breaks the whole flow of the song.

cannot get over how bearding themed the line “and if they call me a slut you know it might be worth it for once” like it’s… just think about taylor’s life, rotating shortly contracted dudes in and out just to keep up a guise so that you’ll be able to date a woman, just to be called a man eater, and then for the woman you’re doing all this for to be giving you the runaround 😆 if i finally felt like i found something worth doing all the carnival games for i’d be a whole mood about it too
my tears ricochet - t.s.
announcing a re-recording in nashville, where big machine resides, is such a power move. I hope scooter braun and scott borchetta have a horrible night. get fucked.
here goes...
i think it’s quite telling that many swifties, including myself, cannot even post something where we mention that we often find queer themes/subtexts in taylor’s music with tags that other swifties use. when i use #taylorswift, i am bombarded by crowds of fans who tell me i am intrusive and disgusting.
first off, i want to know what the fuck is so disgusting about lesbianism? i want to know why it is permissible for straight swifties* to speak openly about taylor's sex life and not find their behavior encroaching, but the second i mention a lyric that strikes me as sapphic, i am being invasive?
i am not out here screaming TAYLOR SWIFT IS FUCKING GAY IF YOU OBJECT YOU'RE A LOUSY, HOMOPHOBIC BITCH IN DENIAL!!! i am simply pointing out how accurately taylor depicts the queer experience.
the only times i use examples from things in taylor's life that are not her songs are when there are obvious themes/motifs that stem from her music into her interviews, photoshoots, comments, and hidden messages. i interpret lyrics the way i interpret them, you interpret them the way you interpret them. all i am doing is noting queer themes in her songs, songs she puts out for the world to hear and explicate any way we wish.
i am analyzing what she deliberately puts out into the world, not her.
not to mention, she wants us to analyze these songs. she has said so before. she intentionally puts hidden messages in her album booklets, along with dropping hints as to who and what her songs are about.
if she was so uncomfortable with some of us interpreting her music as queer, with some of us interpreting certain things she says and/or uses visuals to represent as queer, don't you think she would say it? it would take mere seconds to log onto twitter and tell us to quit what we are doing. but she doesn't. straight swifties* are so incredibly defensive, and for what?
i see a lot of "well, everyone who interprets her music as gay is gay themselves, they're just projecting 🙄" and of course, i can't speak for everyone, but i know that taylor's music and the way she describes things resonate with queer swifties (myself included) in certain ways because we have experienced the things she describes. we have had to hide who we are, what we want, and who we are with. we relate to songs in which taylor expresses her fear of people finding her out because that is many of our everyday realities.
a lot of what makes many of us flock to any kind of gaylor group is homophobia from other swifties. we are shunned in swiftie spaces for saying things such as "wow, cowboy like me depicts a bearding relationship in hollywood perfectly" or, "as a queer woman, i identify with i know places, it seems like taylor has experienced what i have experienced."
i want to know this: if you are allowed to take taylor's music and apply it to your life, why can't i do the same?
from the way straight swifties* talk, i guess speculation about who she is dating is perfectly acceptable, until that speculation includes her dating a woman?
i don't want to have to stay in a smaller space of swifties, i'd love to interact with larger parts of the fandom. but if you're going to come at me for interpreting music differently than you do, if you are going to be blatantly homophobic, i am going to stick with people who are willing to be open minded, who are willing to look at different perspectives and let people interpret taylor's music the way they want to.
*when i say "straight swifties" i don't mean every straight person who enjoys taylor swift. i am referring to the swifties who refuse to even coexist with any of our queer interpretations of her music
FINALLY I THOUGHT IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN!!! also i hope tree will shut down the media and that taylor is not gonna read those stupid articles

The visuals in this scene are clear references to a moment in Frozen 2 where Elsa makes a major transformation.
Elsa is singing the song "Show Yourself." The lyrics are very reminiscent of Taylor's "meet me at midnight" sentiment.
I have always been a fortress
Cold secrets deep inside
You have secrets, too
But you don't have to hide
The song builds and builds with the theme of meeting your true self.
The scene shows Elsa aligning all the jewels just right while singing "don't make me wait one moment more!"
And the entire world opens up
It is at this point that she transforms.
Show yourself
Step into the power
Grow yourself
Into something new
You are the one you've been waiting for
All of my life
All of your life
Oh, show yourself
So let's assume the sparkle represents Taylor's true self (as she's shown us again and again in other mvs) and the cloak references reputation (using a self made shield to hide your true self), then on floor 3 she removes the cloak and affixes larger colorful jewels directly to her body. When she enters floor 5, she's already super confident and dripping in diamonds.
My theory is that Taylor will transform herself in the public's eye during the Speak Now tv, to allow her to fully step into 1989 tv era with confidence, and as her true self.
so real, i’m damned if i do give a damn what people say
Some thoughts from twitter 🙌🏻
Taylor Swift really said “oh, this private life you’ve been watching? Yeah, its never not a performance from inside my fish bowl!” when she blew this popsicle stand.
“The only way for me to disappear (even while in said endless fishbowl that my life has become) is for me to envelop myself in this lavender haze.”
(Which she tells us is synonymous with her melancholia… so, sometimes that haze can loom over her as persistent sadness and ill-founded fears…)
But Taylor has been telling us that despite the sadness, fear, and sense of doom that comes with it, being with her star-crossed lover is the only shade of blue for her.
And gang, she recently framed this singular blue for us. It’s a “midnight blue,” according to Taylor.
Everyone lost their minds after she said the glitter puke and blood in the “Anti-hero” music video is “midnight blue,” but it wasn’t exactly just gaslighting.
It’s Taylor meditating on a theme in her life and art—a blue, a sadness,a melancholia that she feels most deeply in the dead of night, lying awake wondering about love, life, and who she is.
It’s also a blue in which she is submerged, in a fishbowl, in a haze, that is the only thing she really believes in despite the big hoax surrounding her (the idea that her lover’s love is faithless being the “Hoax”).
It’s the “true blue” of someone who knows her for her, is loyal, and dives into this life with her despite it all.
It’s the true blue she bleeds and the true blue that pours out when she spills her guts or the walls come down.
And it’s lavender.
y’all really weren’t listening when taylor said so i wander through these nights, i prefer hiding in plain sight, my fourth drink in my hand these desperate prayers of a cursed man, spilling out to you for free, but darling, darling, please, you wouldn't take my word for it if you knew who was talking, if you knew where i was walking, to a house, not a home, all alone 'cause nobody's there, where i pace in my pen and my friends found friends who care, no one sees when you lose when you're playing solitaire.
I hope next year treats you kindly, but above all else, I hope you treat you kindly.
Note: idk if it's the actual handwriting of their names but i just saw this on twitter too**
you ever think about what kind of scene would be taking place during sweet nothing given that it’s a song about a midnight?
I slur your name til someone puts me in a car
Argumentative, antithetical Dream Girl
The fact that “five seconds later I’m fastening myself to you with a stitch” is the definition of Taylor and Karlie’s friendship/relationship around 2014/2015 and how they were seen EVERYWHERE together. How they were called “twins” and inseparable. They were fastened to each other. Some people could interpret it as “sexual” lyric, as I did first, but it just hit me. Yet, some swiffers don’t care enough to use their brain.
OOOOH, anon, this is good. Note the caption: "Inseparable"
You just gave me another idea too.
A stitch is: a short piece of thread that has been sewn into a piece of cloth
Who is our fashion model that has clothes stitched?
do you interpret mastermind as "i orchestrated/designed the entire relationship with my beard" or as the genuine "i wanted to be with you so i planned out everything and none of it was accidental"?? or both maybe?
i completely believe it’s about taylor and karlie oh my goodness no contest.
it fits so many kaylor songs and how we think about their relationship.
but not just how taylor planned out how she was going to win karlie’s heart, it’s also a song that has a cute surprise twist midway through the song where it’s revealed that her love interest was also wooing her and knew she was being wooed!!
taylor nations post oh my god "looking the sun and the mirror right in the eye" ... karlie aka sunshine looking camp right in the eye... the mirror... i-
OH MY GOD this is so loud 😭👀
i can't believe i had to come back to tumblr to scream taylor swift girl kisser online but oh well
I'm genT13 on twitter!!!
hey, 9w1! hope you're having a great day.
genuine question, no intention to debunk or anything, just curious:
so, karlie is a model, right? that means, it's a part of her job to wear all the newest clothes and accessories, and then those stuff get sold to other people eventually, right?
isn't it possible that karlie possibly just has worn all of the new stuff already and it is a coincidence that some of those new stuff were bought by taylor because they're trendy or being sold at shops now? would it be likely that karlie and other celebs have matched clothing too coincidentally?
(disclaimer: i have no clue about how modelling or clothes work, i just saw a more eloquent version of this argument against koincidences/kaylor a while back, and wanted to hear your perspective on it. thanks!)
thanks for your question!
from my perspective, i think that this argument can work as an explainaway for a certain number of instances, but i do not believe it covers the breadth and depth of what we consider twinning.
because it’s not just about what taylor wears after karlie (or visa versa), but when, or for what special occasions, or the particular time elapsing between when things happen, or what taylor is doing while she is wearing said thing, similarity in composition, etcetera. and it’s seeing these things happen time and again, in aggregate, over time, and in combination with all the many other things we look at when we think about kaylor. whittling it all down to the point that models wear clothes before they are trendy is a little dismissive of the thought, intricacy, and planning that we as a fandom also laude taylor for in the same breath. taylor is a mastermind genius who says herself she hides easter eggs in clothing and jewelry… except for anything related to karlie?? hmm.
that is to say, while these explanations against twinning might be convincing if considered in a vacuum, they lack a consideration of the particular context of kaylor, and how people view taylor and karlie’s relationship.
for example, if the argument is to be made that taylor hates karlie and that they are feuding, it is so curious to me how she seemingly incorporates looks that are strikingly similar to what karlie wears into her art (music videos, live performances) which everyone can agree are personal and important to taylor. and if we get into some of the more intricate gaylor insistencies that taylor is broken hearted and karlie is just doing this to make money, well first of all how rude karlie is an established supermodel and businesswoman and it’s not even worth the investment to try and excite several dozen broke tumblr kaylors into spending money 😆 i can go more into detail on this point but i’m not exactly in the mood to throw down rn so i’ll leave it at that for the time being.
now, i recognize that this kind of thing will not do it for some people. and that’s fine! different types of things are compelling to different types of people. for me, as someone who was quite skeptical of twinning at first (back in 2017-18 when i first encountered kaylor), i’ve become quite taken by it all over the course of the last 4-5 years through the act of keeping tabs on it.
i encourage you or anyone curious but not swayed by twinning to take a look through these posts, and maybe keep it in the back of your mind for the time being. maybe at some point it will click!
Lover house hallway is freaking similar to Victoria secret fashion show where Taylor meet Karlie..
