favourite 2024 albums → THE GREAT IMPERSONATOR by Halsey
"I hope once you listen you will find that behind this theatrical facade is a record I made in a time of grave existential bewilderment. The album is sad, this is true. It's frenzied and calm all at once somehow. To have it in the world with the knowledge of all that I learned while I was making it, is a profound feeling."
which one of you said "I still dream of rejecting the apologies that will never come" cause you ate that
they act like it means nothing while it shapes our whole world view. yesterday I saw a trans identified male calling a guy "if a man can't be a woman why are you such a pussy" like... did you ever sit and thought why the genitals of the group of people you tryna be carries a deragatory meaning? if you truly feel connected a womanhood why are you using a word that's supposed to be an insult to our inferiority in a man's world?
I'm exhausted by this constant pretense that we live in an equal world, as though sexist slurs like 'bitch' or 'mf' exist in isolation. These words are never neutral, they always target women.
And yet, men brush it off, claiming they don’t mean it literally or justifying it because one or two women told them it’s okay. But they never question why these slurs are always rooted in women’s degradation. Misogyny is normalized, ignored and excused at every turn.
I need people to understand that I want more scary Stiles Stilinski. I'm feral for this little sopping wet cat of a man whom everyone underestimates until he goes from 0 to 100. One second he's being a little damsel in distress but then one of his friends gets hurt and suddenly he stands in a field of gore cackling at the sky because the bloodlust has driven him nearly insane. Bonus points if Derek is there and matches his freak.
there is this girl on Instagram that keeps posting about how she wanted to be a Marine biologist but went to work in the sex industry and as a 18 year old she makes me wanna kill someone... you can see the light leave her eyes as the photos come closer to present
I miss having a best friend

This is makeup and facetune.
Disclaimer: I am in no way trying to put down the women in the second photo set. They look great, they’re doing as they please, but I wanted to use their public photos in order to make a point.
Often times I hear the argument, “but makeup is an art form! How can women be harmed by the makeup industry if it’s a CHOICE and an art form?”
There is a gigantic difference between the two photo sets. The first are women who have applied makeup, face paint and other materials in order to create something on their faces that does not enhance their appearance or follow beauty standards. They are literally creating a painting/piece of art on their faces. The second photo set shows women who are using makeup in order to enhance their looks and quite honestly change the appearance of their natural facial features.
The makeup looks that are shown are what the beauty industry distributes their products for. These looks are what is deemed “beautiful” and “acceptable” in our society. It is what 10 year old girls are trying to achieve in order to feel pretty and gain attention and acceptance.
It isn’t an art form to put on eyeliner, eyebrows, matte lipstick, contour your entire face to the point in which you are unrecognizable from your bare face. It may be aesthetically pleasing, but it isn’t art. Women and girls are pushed to wear foundation, eye makeup, and whatever else every day. No one is pushed to look like a Rorschach test (see third photo in first photo set, lol). No one is pressured to wear makeup in the form in which we see at the top, but girls are pressured beyond belief to make their noses look smaller. Their eyes look bigger. Their eyebrows more shaped. Their eyelashes longer. Their cheeks higher. Their neck slimmer. Their eyes lighter. Their lips bigger… more seductive. And it goes on.
Know the difference between conventional makeup and artistic makeup. They are not the same, they are not to be conflated. We are not smashing the patriarchy with our winged eyeliner. We are not going against what men want by over lining our lips. Choice or not, we aren’t doing it for anything other than because we feel we have to.
Contour isn’t art.
"have you ever given the world to somebody as a gift and had it returned? did you know the father's DNA stays inside the mother for seven years? have you ever waited seven years?"
this exam is tearing my skin from my bones and still telling me to count all the muscle groups
always so funny to see Christians and Muslims go at each other's throat on social media cause it's like watching two pugs fight, they try hitting each other but all they do is heavy panting and bump into furniture in the name of defending their ways to oppress women
la tristesse durera toujours. being a fujoshi is payback for all of the sexualization our sisterhood faces daily
